  1. That's odd. I've been connecting or flying out of there for 25 years and have never experienced anything like that. Denver's terminals are Terminal A, B, and C. Your boarding pass should say gate A25 or B49 or C36, with the letter indicating the Terminal. About 12 years ago I was flying out of there and noticed that they had put some travel-related quotes on some of the windows. Almost yelled when I saw this one. Haven't checked recently to see if it's still there, and didn't remember where it was, but now that I zoom in on the background I can see the sign at the top of the jet bridge that says B49.
  2. The issue is that there's a fine line between paying a kid for something and bribing a kid to do something. And the human brain, specifically the decision-making part of it, isn't fully developed until about age 25. The younger someone is, the more irrational their decision-making, and the more likely that they'll do things that they wouldn't do if they were older. That's the primary reason why you need to be 18 to buy smokes, 21 to buy booze.
  3. Went to the vehicle this morning to run an errand before work... and when I start the vehicle a low tire pressure warning comes up. Back right tire down to 20 psi. Sure enough, I see a nail/screw of some type sticking out. And sure enough, it's along the edge of the tire, too close to the sidewall to patch. The silver lining - just last week I got an oil change and the shop said that my tires will need to be replaced soon. Down to about 3-4mm and the sides are worn down. Was hoping to get through the summer and replace in late October before the snow hits. I could try to find a used tire to get me until late fall, but don't think it's worth the hassle to just replace all of them 5 months from now. Tires are damn expensive. But Walmart has some non-advertised/likely Chinese tires that are cheap. Not just cheap, but like $180/tire less than the lowest brand name tires. That's $720 total less... plus 10% sales tax, so more like $800 total less. Total cost with installation for four tires - $600 + tax. Has anyone tried this Summit brand tire before, or a non-name-brand from Walmart? If the difference was like $50/tire, I would go with brand name. But for $800 less... I think worth the risk. $60K tread warranty. Sold by Walmart, not a 3rd party, so I think they'll stand behind it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Summit-Trail-Climber-SUV2-All-Season-265-40R21-105W-XL-SUV-Crossover-Tire/7024712042?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1100&from=/search
  4. Oh yes, AA definitely has the shortest seat pitch. My knees are wedged into the seat in front of me. Have to try to spread my legs as much as I can to the edges of the seat in front of me, no way can I have them straight forward. That being said, AA is a lot cheaper than United in terms of seat upgrades. And you can use miles to upgrade your seat on AA. I haven't been in an airline lounge in close to 20 years, so I can't speak to those. But if you hate O'Hare, then I can only assume you have never had to connect at MSP or flown out of the new terminal in SLC. I've walked over a half mile going from one gate to another in MSP, and good luck finding a halfway decent restaurant along the way. Same with SLC, it's probably over a half-mile walk from check-in to the end of the new terminal and that includes the few people-movers they have. If flying on United, O'Hare is super easy. After going through security you're right in concourse B, and then it's a short walk to the escalator and people movers to get to concourse C. Nothing is a long walk in the United concourses. And if you want some quick food to take on your flight, there's a food court in concourse C with a decent cheap Chinese restaurant. I could leave my place in Chicago ~2:10 before my flight, walk three blocks to the blue line, 40 minute light rail to the airport, 10 minute walk from the blue line stop to security, be through security and get some food with plenty of time to spare.
  5. Savings don't justify the membership fee
  6. This is both bugging me and not bugging me, but I just found out that you can purchase non-member-exclusive products from Costco's website if you don't have a membership for a 5% surcharge. Here I've been buying Kirkland brand products on eBay for years. With 5% surcharge and shipping it's less on Costco.com than what I've been paying. Son of a b....
  7. Uribe does have a little Devin Williams in him.
  8. I turn on CNBC this morning and the very first think I see is a graphic running across the screen - "MARKET SELLOFF" Had a bunch of meetings this afternoon, turn it on again and I see that the Dow and S&P finished up, NASDAQ basically flat. SMH...
  9. I'm in VEA. Performing better YTD, one year, and 3-year than VXUS.
  10. Green ended up getting $264K in guaranteed money from the Cardinals as a UDFA, equivalent to the signing bonus of a late 2024 5th round pick. Analogous to how free agents often get what fans perceive to be "over paid" - when multiple teams are competing to sign you, the money goes up more than it probably should. I think the Williams pick was influenced by Nixon saying he ain't gonna play KR no more. Will be interesting to watch how Williams and Green's careers unfold.
  11. The NBA is designed to prevent dynasties. The draft, the salary cap, free agency... all designed to rotate who is at the top. If anybody but Boston wins it will be seven seasons in a row with a different champion than the prior season. Jokic has won the MVP 3 of the last four seasons but Denver only has one championship to show for it (and that was the year he didn't win the MVP). Lakers had LeBron and Anthony Davis and only won one. OKC had Durant, Westbrook, and Harden and they didn't win a single one. The Golden State Warriors of the 2010's are the exception, not the rule.
  12. FIFY
  13. But Gutey said urgency!!! They can't trade back and have urgency!!!
  14. Wisconsin historically has played pro-style offenses. Even Longo's offense was pro-style in that it required the QBs and WRs to read defenses and make decisions on routes and throws. Makes the transition to the pros much easier than the en-vogue offenses where teams run up to the line, look at giant cards being held up on the sidelines, and do whatever the card says. UW QBs have a 4-5 year head start on learning how to read defenses. That, and over the last 15 or so years kids that would be college QBs are taking $1M to play pro baseball out of high school, diluting the college QB talent pool. UWs QBs may not be great, but if you watch enough college football, you'll see that most teams either don't have a good QB or they play a system that inflates the QBs numbers and makes them look better than they really are.
  15. Collin Oliver is an interesting pick. I looked at him, but thought he wasn't a good fit for a 4-3 due to lack of length and size and the he was a likely 3-4 OLB. But scouting reports say that he's athletic enough to cover in space, and add to that his experience pass rushing, and he has some upside as an off-ball LB who can be a very effective blitzer.
  16. He's only 6'3", 256, so I doubt that he can rush inside. Excellent 3-cone, short shuttle, and bench press numbers. Lacks length.
  17. There goes Thornton. Wouldn't have made it to the Packers 4th round pick.
  18. I'm wondering if the Belton pick was because the Packers and Tom are far apart on extension talks. I wonder if the Eagles game has the Packers questioning how much they are willing to give and guarantee Tom. Anyone else surprised by how many guards got picked in the top 50? It's a copycat league, and I'm wondering if the strategy is to copy the Eagles of having massive guards opening up holes up the middle. It explains guards getting picked high as well as the run on DT. Makes the signing of Banks a lot less surprising. A lot of teams are investing heavily in guards, be it the Packers in free agency or other teams in very high draft picks.
  19. Spot on - Belton would not have been there in the 3rd. There was talk that the Bears would have nabbed him right after the Packers did. Instead, the Bears had to pick Ozzie Trapilo because they feared that the OL would be gone later. Bears strategy got tanked when Banks went #9 right before their pick. Two things stood out to me on day 1 and 2 - there was a big run on the big uglies on both sides of the ball. There was a run on DT and a run on OL. It's a copycat league, and I think a lot of teams went in with the strategy to copy the Eagles of going after OL and DT. I said before that I thought that there was a big dropoff on DT after the 1st round. Hell, they all got scooped up before #23.
  20. 2nd - Jordan Burch, DE, Oregon - can play all across the line, ability to move inside on passing downs reduces the need to draft a DT. 3rd - Nohl Willliams, CB, Cal - CB depth, special teams play, ability to be a KR/PR
  21. Simmons still out there as well as the injured CBs. Character whispers (Green, Hairston) still out there as well. Looks like everybody is passing on injured players, and risks in general.
  22. I'm feeling Jordan Burch for the 2nd round. Someone who can play all along the line and play outside on run downs and inside on pass downs. Kind of fills two holes - don't really need a DT if they can draft a bigger end like Burch or Elijah Roberts who can flex inside on passing downs.
  23. Yeah, they'll play enough 1-2 personnel that they can easily keep two TEs on the LOS and have two WRs off the LOS if they need to create separation for both Reed and Golden.
  24. Yeah, but they would have to pay the 5th year option price guaranteed which is 8-figures. Hard to pay Watson 8-figures with his injury history. I think it's better they don't have a 5th year option on him.
