  1. Yeah, why did they set up to hit the corners. So dumb. Weeks must be proud of that decision, Yuni. Good god.
  2. If that Weeks at-bat was any indication of Liriano's stuff tonight we should rock him.
  3. Classic. Keep fighting the good fight, trwi.
  4. I can't believe the Nowitzki/Bucks thing still even gets mentioned. Trwi7 did a good job explaining the scenario, but iirc Dallas was the only team that even seriously scouted him. The only gripe you could possibly have about that draft was not staying at 9 and picking Paul Pierce. After reflecting on the trade a bit more I like it less. Udrih and Jackson are slight upgrades, but we're still in no mans land with no cap space. It's remarkable how circular Hammond's tenure has been. Also, I still don't understand what the hell Sacramento is doing. Did they actually want Salmons? Is an extra draft pick going to them that just hasn't been reported? From their pov, it's one of the most puzzling trades I've ever seen.
  5. Because we unloaded bad contracts for more bad contracts? How many "good" contracts did the Mavericks have? How many Dirk Nowitzki type players do the Milwaukee Bucks have? It's fine to go get a few overpaid, niche players if you have a superstar. You can't get the role players first, and then the superstar next. It just never works that way.
  6. I doubt Bogut will be worse than last year. Couple that with Jennings not improving, and we're probably right back at the ten spot next year. NBA purgatory. I'd imagine that Leuer is gonna take over the Ersan role (who wants out bad). They're white, tall, and can shoot, but that's where the comparison ends. Ersan is a warrior and Leuer is pretty soft from what I've watched. Edit: I should note, I like the Harris pick. At that spot, I either wanted him or Donata Montejuinasdfkkdf.
  7. I don't think this trade is too bad given what I expect from Hammond.....HOWEVAH, I don't like the fact that Hammond has to keep trying to fix his mistakes (something he's been applauded for). I'd prefer if he would just stop making stupid deals in the first place.
  8. Axford and maybe Loe are the only good RP on the team. Dillard has been good so far but not sure I buy it. Hawkins might be close to average at best, he's just had a lot of luck, Braddock has been pretty terrible on the year. Braddock looked fine once he came back from his first DL stint. Not sure I'd say Dillards been good either. His K/BB ratio looks good but it seems he gets hit awfully hard on the reg. Agreed Hawkins isn't anything special. It would be a godsend if Saito can return and pitch to his career norms during the second half. Even if that happens we need to go out and get another stud reliever though.
  9. I'd take it one step further and make two moves. DFA Kotsay, call up Boggs. DFA Yuni and call up Green. It's unreal that we're nearing the end of June and we're still arguing over roster moves that should of been made right out of spring training. Ugh. It makes me want to puke.
  10. I know that probably deserves a gold star in Roenicke's book, but you have to sub a guy out after that. Stupidity like that should not be tolerated.
  11. This ump is terribly inconsistent. Wow. Ed Rapuano....figures.
  12. Let Greinke pitch til he has 100 pitches regardless. Can't go into the next couple series with a gassed bullpen. Weeks has had a bad game. Swung at some really poor sliders that could of resulted in walks and now a booted grounder that costs a run.
  13. Corey Hart allowing the runner to go to 3rd so he can't spike a slider.
  14. He's like a righty version of Manny Parra out there. Just terrible two strike pitches. Luckily, they're hitting them in the gaps and not in the bleachers.
  15. lol, where did that 0-1 curveball miss? Right down the middle.
  16. Just to be clear, I hope he does well. But I am not going to get excited about a guy hitting .200 over his time here. But I will take the bag on the doorstep. Well yeah, if you're using batting average to rate an offensive player I can see why you don't like Kottaras. Makes your other posts make much more sense.
  17. Kottaras is an above avg offensive catcher, especially for a backup. And that's the second time I've seen you post that he can't hit. He's a "no offense catcher" like Nieves is a "good defensive catcher".
  18. Come on, Kottaras. That wasn't even that high of a pitch.
  19. I'll be there Friday and Saturday too. Me and two friends. Definitely nervous about the weather, but it should be a blast. Of course, today and Sunday looks to be perfect weather out there.
  20. Burks, Biyombo, or bust imo. I like everything I've read about them. I'll probably buy into whoever they draft though. That's how it is every year after they really build these guys up. LRMAM supposedly wants out (so does Ersan but he's under contract), so we'll have to see how that plays out. As noted earlier in the thread, Hammond seems to only have a vague understanding on the difference between a RFA and UFA. And an insider on realGM claims that if a RFA tells Hammond he wants out, he grants him that wish. It would be hilarious if Hammond let the one draft pick he hit on (and I use that term very loosely) walk, imo.
  21. I dunno about that. A lot of people were still blaming Nieves on Wolf in the IGTs.
  22. Man, Castro can hit. Reminds me a lot of Hanley. I remember there was a Escobar v Castro thread last year where someone basically said the main difference between the two offensively was their BABIP. LOL.
  23. Oh, I know it's not gonna happen. Way too ballsy. Melvin is on his 3rd hire and the club has a pretty good record. That right there ends the discussion.
