  1. For the love of god Weeks stop trying to pull the ball. He's one of the most stubborn hitters I've ever watched.
  2. She wasn't the slightest bit funny, but that seems to be par for the course on the Brits who try to make it big over here. I thought the regulars played off James Spader very well, so there's that. I thought the episode was very funny, but I seem to to be alone in that (at least on this board, another board I post on liked this episode & season in general). Kevin was pretty cringeworthy. He's a guy who really shouldn't have more than one or two scenes a week. The alphabet scene....ugh. I think Michael was dragging the show down for a couple yrs now because the writers had no idea how to write him realistically. Maybe every 5 or so episodes he'd be funny. I'll probably check out the first few episodes next year.
  3. That was an offspeed pitch he got a hit on, fwiw. And why do they ever throw him a fastball strike? Seriously? Probably because if they didn't, he'd be on base about every other ab. You could see this Weeks slump coming last weekend against Pittsburgh though. He's pulling off everything and really overswinging. Definitely should be sat down tomorrow.
  4. Hart, Braun, and Fielder make up for Weeks' garbage at-bat last inning. Good stuff....and about time.
  5. Embarrassing. Here I thought someone from the Scioscia tree was suppose to be tactical and shrewd. I've seen NONE of that in Roenicke. Scioscia is a buffoon and has been since day 1, so I don't know why you'd expect otherwise. His teams give away outs like it's going outta style.
  6. Weeks has never hit a GS, and I think it's starting to get into his head. He has put together some absolutely dreadful at bats with the bases loaded this year. Those are often the difference between wins & losses, and he's 0-5 with 4k's in those spots now. At least put the ball in play and give yourself a chance. If we had a decent backup IF I'd bench him tomorrow. You don't need to take a *!*+%+ violent swing there and try to hit 500 ft. So bad.
  7. good lord Weeks, that was a terrible at bat. He threw 5 balls and 1 very hittable strike.
  8. I'm guessing you could sell it for $2000 on craigslist even with the blown motor as long as you state BLOWN MOTOR clearly in the ad. Wrangler's have a huge following, and that's very low miles. Junk price was up to $600 a month back, but when I junked one last week I only got $400. As teatoe said, it fluctuates.
  9. So our 2 worst starting pitchers have a problem with our catcher for whatever reason. They should probably be looking at themselves, as they simply aren't good enough to miss their spots (it seemed like that's why Narveson was ticked off at Lucroy for that one game).
  10. Nice breakdown. I still like all these deals, as I did at the time they were made too. Lawrie is gonna be very good but he's also a grade A douchebag, so I have no problem losing a guy like that. Marcum has been terrific...just gotta hope he stays healthy. Greinke trade still looks fine. I think Jeffress tops out as a closer and Cain will never be more than an average starting CFer (still pretty valuable). I also think a Gomez/Plush platoon>Cain though for this yr though. Escobar is TERRIBLE. I said after about 200 ab's last year that he's basically a glorified Ronny Cedeno and his line this yr doesn't make me wanna sway my opinion on that. He's pretty good with the glove, but it's not gonna make up for his Brandon Wood-esque slash line. Obviously, Odorizzi hurts to lose. I hope he has a nice career for them. The other 2 trades have been nice little moves. No complaints there either.
  11. And that's why you don't want your 3rd best hitter bunting in that spot. I don't care who called it....it's not a smart play.
  12. I'd be shocked if Weeks did it on his own. I don't think he's even attempted one since 2008.
  13. I did too. I thought the ending was really bad though.
  14. I just watched started watching season 2 from the beginning and the episode where Ron has a hernia is so damn good. His reaction throughout the episode had me dying. When the janitor asks him if he's working late...LOL. One thing I noticed from the earlier eps is they definitely underused Andy. He's hardly in it.
  15. That's actually a very good comparison. Both are very good at something that's undervalued by casual fans (D & ST's), and pretty much suck at the glaring aspects of the game (hitting & coverage). Also, nice job on the podcasts man. I've listened to a few of them and you've got a great voice for radio haha.
  16. Guaranteed that was called by RRR. Takes off on the 1st pitch. No way is that Weeks' call. wow....if that's the case that's indefensible. Counsell hits Lohse really well and Molina is an absolute beast defensively.
  17. What the hell is Weeks thinking? He's still a really dumb baseball player.
  18. The statue runs one down!!! Yo's gotta pitch a no hitter after that one.
  19. I've really never seen Pujols hit the ball so weak. Consistently. Maybe the contract year thing is wearing on him? Hope so.
  20. I've said it a lot, but my enjoyment of Gomez's game goes up by about 1000% when he's hitting 8th.
