  1. Elbow The String Cheese Incident is absolutely brutal.
  2. Weeks took him deep in ST. I hope we can get something off him in the 9th.
  3. I just looked it up and apparently it only took 30 mil over 6 years to lock him up. I'M GLAD WE SIGNED RANDY WOLF.
  4. Right now it's just cloudy. Not too dark. Weather.gov shows 80% chance of precipitation though.
  5. Rays. He could DH. Play 1B (Pena's a FA). Backup Longoria at 3B. They also have SP's to spare. I think we could get Shields or Niemann for him. Especially Shields as he's more pricey.
  6. -I like the idea of trading McGehee to the Rays for Shields. -Fielder to whoever for some prospects. Melvin may have made a crucial mistake not getting a deal done at the deadline with the glut of FA 1B available. -Gamel to 1B. -Sign Beltre to play 3b. He's obviously had a great year so I'm assuming he'll opt out. I'd rather give a good position player a 3 yr deal than a middling SP. -Sign Vazquez or maybe Bonderman to a 1 yr deal with a team option. That gives us a rotation of: Gallardo Shields Vazquez/Bonderman Wolf Narveson/Rivas/Butler
  7. Because he's rarely ahead in the count. Easy to lay off when your ahead 2-1, but when your always down 0-2/1-2 your just not gonna have much success.
  8. How the hell are you 41 and have never heard of Stevie Ray Vaughn? I know Al takes pride in being unhip, but wasn't it pretty big news when it happened? Side Note: My mom dated SRV for a little bit before he became huge.
  9. Macha's a muppet, so I understand why people don't like his personality. But what are people's legitimate gripes with him? Generally, he plays the players who are performing better. He handles a bullpen somewhat competently. He doesn't throw his players under the bus in the media. The only thing I can fault him for is he obviously didn't play Gamel for non-performance reasons, he plays Weeks too much because he's his favorite player and he'll occassionally leave our young pitcheR in too long. (Gallardo). Otherwise, he's been completely fine.
  10. Wow right of Meek's chest. i don't think mike maddux could've fielded that one. Rocket by Braunie. I'd say he's back. Weeks continues to look Gomez-esque. I'm guessing he'll be Ops'ing under .800 by season's end.
  11. I was arguing against PPA mattering but whatever. I hope Weeks can put together a solid year next year, but I'm doubting it. I don't see any difference from him and a guy like Milledge.
  12. After that slow-mo replay it's easy to see why Braddock has had arm issues. Yikes.
  13. The guy who's second on the team in pitches per plate appearance can't control the count? I guess I'm confused about that one. He might strike out 200 times this year. Of course he'll be up there on PPA. He just doesn't walk enough to strike out that much.
  14. I pray to god we sell high on Weeks this offseason. I can't believe that guy is ops'ing in the 800s. Cannot control the count at all.
  15. SAFE. Umps blow another one (this time in their favor). At least they're consistently bad.
  16. Despite his era, I feel Bush has completely pitched like crap this year. Odd timing though. No doubt about that. Would like to give any potential sept starts to rivas or butler. We should shut down Rogers for the year.
  17. You guys seriously think a line drive that him over a year ago is still affecting him now? I think he should be healed from that by now. If not, it's pretty much prematurely ended his career, and I can't think of any other similar circumstances.
  18. Yup. Prior's was much worse, but Strasburg certainly has some characteristics of an inverted W. I remember expressing concern over Bush's inverted W 2-3 years ago on here and basically being laughed at. I have no doubt that's what has contributed to his decrease in velocity.
  19. Odorizzi is the cream of the crop for sure, but you could make that plural. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I really like Heckathorn's potential myself, and Peralta should be a good one too. Not too mention Jeffress, Rogers, etc. I'm not gonna lie, I haven't followed the minor leagues like this since the 2003-2005 years. It's been awesome checking the link report and seeing a stud pitch almost every day. It makes up for the mess our big league team is.
  20. I see nothing wrong with those comments. He obviously means he's the CF for this team, not "the man" as in the best player. My opinion is you might as well keep him up for the rest of the year now that we're so close to 9/1, and start him in AAA next year. I was against the trade since it went down, but you still gotta try to turn him into an asset next year.
  21. Ugh. How did Weeks miss that 1-2 slider? Huge mistake pitch. Also would be nice to see him get ahead in the count for a change.
  22. Yeah, that's what I heard. I actually did have friends rubbing it in from the show.
