  1. Garcia throws a meatball down the middle almost every first pitch.
  2. Yeah, I'm talking first year he was pretty awful. Last year, pretty much everything work perfectly. Jennings pick was great (although it does scare me that they had Flynn rated higher. Thank god for Kahn). Meeks was a fine second round pick. I thought we were getting a guy who had limited athletic ability but could shoot the hell out of the ball. Turns out he was pretty much the exact opposite. Yoshii: I'd give Hammond a C+ overall. I weighed our good year a little heavier than our bad year considering we were still in cap hell. Mostly Larry Harris' fault, but as we noted, Hammond certainly had a chance to fix it sooner. But last year was a lot of fun, and that's still pretty fresh in my mind. He was a solid A overall last year. He added Ersan, Salmons, Delfino, and Jennings to the core. All of his stopgaps (Thomas, Stackhouse, Ridnour) played great. Bogut's contract turned to an okay one to a bargain (get well, Andrew). Shrewd trades. Cut his losses and moved on (RJ, Meeks, and JA). First year, I have a hard time not giving him an F for the reasons I laid out. Maybe he needed time to get acclimated to the job? I dunno but he was freaking terrible. The only player added to the core was LRMAM. Bad contracts. Bad non moves. Good hire of Skiles though, but Kohl never opened up his purse and allowed Harris to hire an established coach. Obviously, I'm not liking where this offseason is going. Maggette trade: B+. Huge talent upgrade. Fills a need. Doesn't cost much more than the two scrubs we sent out. Only question, does he D up for Skiles? Draft: C. I've come around on this a little bit. But the grade is basically meaningless. We'll see after the season is over whether or not it was a good one. I obviously wanted Babbit, but Sanders seems like a good kid so maybe he does develop. Have come around on the 2nd rounders after reading more. FA: F. Gooden will have one of the worst contracts in the league as soon as the ink dries. Salmons is a player but too long and won't play at the insane level he did for the short time he was with us. Fans will hate these deals in a few years.
  3. So you think Hammond was banking on Redd blowing out his ACL again? A big reason he's got value because he's a insurance covered expiring. Otherwise you clear the contract as soon as you can. It's no coincidence that the Bucks turned it on when Redd was out. Horrible team player. And my god, every contract is an expiring at some point. I don't see that argument at all. As for RJ and Raef. Once again, insurance covered. 80% paid, only responsible for the rest. RJ had a huge salary. Clearing him a half season earlier would have saved a lot of coin. So because he nailed his second rounder it's alright he whiffed big time on his lotto pick? You need to get a rotation player at the very least. Very deep draft. Augustin, the Lopez twins, A Randolph, Bayless, Jason Thompson, Hibbert, Speights, McGee, Hickson, Courtney Lee, Batum, etc were all picked after him. Blowing lotto picks is devastating for a franchise. Also, you could have been part of the Salmons trade if your salary would have matched it. We're gonna applaud him for blowing lotto picks now? Re: Elson and Allen. Yes, giving multiple yr deals to scrubs (bell, gadz, gooden, etc) is franchise crippling. Not sure why you have that in blue font there. Maybe you're one of the guys who says, "hey, it's not my money!" Those were still mistakes and both guys hurt the team every second they were on the floor. Re: Stoudamire: Anytime you can pay a player to play 0 games for you, you have to do it! That was such a stupid signing it had to be mentioned. Re: Conley/1st rumor: That was posted by many newspaper sources (Woelfel) probably right around January or Feb of 2009. JA was also in the proposed deal. As for the insider rumors those were reported by a very reputable source at realGM. He went over it in detail a few months back. That was hardly Hammonds fault, but when your that close to a heist it's tough to not get it done. The Bucks thought they had Lee and Gallinari. The knicks loved Sessions. he would have put up huge numbers in D'Antoni ball. I know certain posters like to bag on realGM for some reason, but it's the best site on the internet for Bucks info. No question about it. You just gotta read the right posts.
  4. Had the opportunity to unload M Redd twice. Once was when he was even out with the ACL tear. He didn't want to give up Sessions in the deal. (who he then let walk for nothing) Could of unloaded RJ for Raef Lafrentz's Insurance covered expiring. Decided to keep him for the entire season. Did somewhat make up for his mistake by unloading RJ in the offseason. As you said JA #8 overall. One of the biggest draft busts of the decade. Nearly every player picked after him is better. 2 year contracts to scrub journeyman Malik Allen and Francisco Elson. After yesterday, he now has a history on going too long on FA deals. Signed Salim Stoudemire towards the end of a lost season, basically lighting his owners money on fire. Turned down Sessions for Conley and Lakers 2010 first round pick. There is our backup pg if he sells Herb on that deal. Let Sessions and CV walk for no compensation. Both got nice, multi year deals. Clearly had value. The Knicks almost traded Gallinari and Lee for Sessions. That's how much value he had to some teams.
  5. Gooden adds more talent to the roster (he's better than Gadz), but it's a hideous deal anyway you look at it. 5 years is what most superstars get. It's too long. Not too mention he's a net negative on the court. But maybe forehead can get thru to him and he starts D'in it up. Who knows? Gooden's camp said they were "blown away" by the offer. Very rare to hear that. I'm not ready to blindly follow every move hammond makes. Seems like there is a lot of that going on around here. Yes, he was GM of the year last year. But if there was a razzie type award for worst GM, he would of been the runaway winner the season before. Jury is definitely still out.
  6. This deal also really handcuffs the Bucks ability to sign a backup pg other than luke ridnour. We don't have the cap room. We do hold bird rights on Ridnour, so we might as well lock him up to a 5 yr deal as well. 5/25 should be good for Hammond.
  7. Already past his peak and he got 5 yrs. I have no doubt he'll get his, but it's gonna come as a detriment to the team. Basketball isn't like baseball where stats can tell who's good and who's not. He's just a knucklehead. Not a bad guy off the court, but no bball iq and probably the worst help defender in the league. That's gonna especially hurt when he's taking minutes from LRMAM and Ers, who happen to be very good overall defenders.
  8. 5 yr 39m for Fish. This is a bad day for Bucks fans. We'll be good next year, but say goodbye to cap room for another half decade.
  9. Can't have a team option if it's not going into the last year of the deal. Could be fully NG'd though.
  10. 3 years is still too long, but it's a hell of a lot better than 5. 5 is what superstars get. Unbelievable. Edit: Not possible to have a team option after the third year. has to be before the last year of the deal. Could (better) have non guaranteed money though.
  11. Yeah, this contract is worse. Gadz was young and had upside and played a position much more in demand. He had teams(Hawks) that we're gonna give him a similar deal if we didn't. Gooden is 29, could only fetch a 1 yr deal last year, and was traded at the deadline by a legitimate contender. No surprise they (Mavs) got better once he left either. I might be a tad biased. I'd be leery if this was a one year deal. Gooden isn't any better than Ers or LRMAM.
  12. For 5 years though. That's an eternity in the NBA.
  13. Corn Trader: 8 teams in 8 years. Doesn't play any D. Hollow stats. Hammond has spent 2 years trying to cleanse the roster of this exact type of player. And people were hoping to get Salmons back on a 3/27 deal. I think that ship has sailed this morning.
  14. Well, there better be some team options in that thing. Otherwise that's one of the worst contracts in NBA history.
  15. Maggette is the perfect sixth man, as his game is based off of isolations (which he converts better than anyone else in the league). He should be on the court at all times when Bogut's resting. As twirl said, our second unit was dreadful at putting the ball in the basket. I've come around on this trade a lot after having a week to digest it. It's also gonna be huge to have a guy that can create his own shot at the end of the game.(Bogut's basically useless at times like that) He definitely fills some huge holes for this team. As for RJ latching on to a contender, we'll have to see. He probably won't be too hot of a commodity, and Lebron hates him, so he probably won't be going to a team that's anymore a favorite than the Spurs. (I can't see why the Lakers would need him either)
  16. Jesus, Jefferson would be lucky to get 15 mil on a multi year deal.
  17. He's from LOS ANGELES, you know. What a clown. I read that while at work and spit out my drink.
  18. I'd say getting your abs to show is about 70% diet and 30% exercise. If your weekday schedule allows it, eat 6 small meals a day. Here's my diet Monday thru Friday (I take the weekends off. I don't binge, but do like to go out or have the occasional brat and burger) Breakfast: 4 hardboiled eggs, oatmeal with fresh bluberries and raisins. 2 glasses of green tea. Pre Workout: EAS Myoplex and banana. Post Workout: Protein bar or Myoplex and banana. Lunch: Grillled chicken breast, whole wheat rice, celerey/green beans and a couple of slices of avocado. Mid afternoon snack: turkey or tuna in wholewheat pita bread. Dinner: Salmon or tuna steak, wholewheat rice, greens and avocado. Before Bed: Low Fat cottage cheese. (slow release protein) Keep drinking tons of water. I also like the Sobe 0 cal lifewaters. No soda. Limit your juice intake as well. Save boozing for the weekends. At night, I take a daily multivitamin, omega 3, vitamin d, korean ginseng, saw palmetto. Good Luck!
  19. Miami has been trying to give Beasley away to anyone and everyone. He's a talented guy, but I'm guessing teams don't want to put up with a headcase like him. I'm with you though, I'd try to get him. If Skiles doesn't crack the case no one will. The reward outweighs the risk imo. The Bucks could have had the 18th pick OKC eventually got from Miami if they would have taken on Beasley, but supposedly Hammond wouldn't do it. Quite the fall in two short seasons.
  20. Haha. Nah man, I'm just a big fan of Babbit and think he's gonna definitely be a rookie that will contribute right away and still have plenty of upside. We need players who can shoot it, and Babbit went 50/40/90 % last year. Sanders is one of those guys who just started playing the game in high school, and I just don't think he contributes much right away. Once again, I hope to god I'm wrong. But we're a team that could win 50 with the right moves this offseason. We needed a rotation player from that pick.
  21. This is probably the best avenue to take. Weeks is just too damn risky to sign to an extension right now. If I were DM, I'd probably wait until after next year and see if he puts up two consistent, healthy seasons. If he does, you could just lock him up for market value or maybe slightly below it if he really likes Milwaukee.
  22. Yep, I liked that pick. My grade was a C after all 4. If the trade goes down, make it a D. I'd like to be proven wrong though.
  23. Solid 2nd round. I'd give the draft an A if we would have taken Babbit at 15. Sanders was a reach.
  24. The more and more I think about this pick, the more I hate it. Babbit should have been the pick. We need outside shooting. And the fact that Davis and Patterson were the preceding picks before Haisl..I mean Sanders, makes it hurt even more. Oh well. Better sign Ray or M miller now.
  25. He's managing for his job, so why would he care? I'd run the best pitchers into the ground if I was him too. And I gotta disagree with you TLB. 120 for 9 is pretty stress free.
