  1. Salmons is a hog and I said the same thing last year. No one complained because his bad shots were still falling. That was like the ultimate buy high. Gooden and Maggette are both low iq players like I thought, but at least Mags can score efficiently. Gooden hasn't been a net positive anywhere yet. Not one area. We're stuck with him for awhile. Reffing wa disgraceful around the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
  2. I hate Scioscia ball. They give away way too many outs. The only reason that team has had success the last decade is because of how weak the division is. Hopefully Roenicke isn't a carbon copy.
  3. Don't lump me in there twirl. I was right there with ya. Ugh. What was Hammond thinking with that contract? Ersan has been absolutely terrible, and that makes me sad. He's my favorite player. This team looks polar opposite to the team we saw in March and April last year. I'm willing to give it time, but the early returns are not good.
  4. Do it by email. Seriously. They'll usually just quote you the bottom dollar, as those guys are at the bottom of the food chain and go for volume more than making big profits. As DatHoser said, Edmunds is an excellent tool.
  5. Maybe they're just waiting until after the series since Valentine is an analyst. Also, I'm pretty sure Doug hates making moves when baseball is still going on, as he doesn't want to take headlines away from it. I'm pretty sure he said something along those lines a year or two ago.
  6. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/10/06/article-1318246-0B716BF0000005DC-815_470x636.jpg Cigar guy. That's who I'm being. Really having a hard time finding that wig though.
  7. Gooden can rebound. I'll give him that. But everything else is just blah.
  8. Tough opener. Played bad but still should of won. Bogut was good, but his missed throws cost us the game. Gooden sucked. West went off with 22 pts in 26 min.
  9. I hope we can get off to a quick start, because our winter schedule is brutal. Unfortunate we're getting hit hard with injuries already.
  10. I'm quite surprised you'd want Melvin. I always thought you thought all retreads are pretty much the same.
  11. The newer body style Impalas have a very spacious interior.
  12. I think Bob Melvin just became an underdog. Wouldn't a retread wanna bring his own guys in here? You'd think a rookie manager would be fine with a staff in place.
  13. Anyone else been watching these playoff games and just get the feeling that the Brewers are miles away from competing at this level? I mean, Yo would probably be Philly's 4th starter and at best the Giants 2nd, but most likely 3rd. I could see us being like the Reds, and sneaking in there on a down year from the Cards, but once we get there we just get smoked because of the lack of front end SP.
  14. Buster Posey is a god.
  15. 1999-2002 Honda Accord transmissions are notorious for being very troublesome (so it's easy to see why the price is so high), yet I've driven them when they're supposedly bad like temke mentions and they just act up for a little bit and then shift fine. My only advice if you want to keep the car? Don't go used to save a few bucks. The used one will have a high chance of malfunctioning down the road too. $3000 sounds pretty good for a new trans.
  16. Cubs - just despise them Twins - hate Gardenhire. Angels- hate Scioscia. Rays- hate their stadium, also despise that part of Florida. Astros- Houston is hell, imo.
  17. I've always thought skyscraper window washers should command salaries like professional athletes. I get nauseous just thinking about it.
  18. I wonder if Granderson can bunt? If so, I'd have done a squeeze there. I don't care what the announcers say...Granderson can't hit lefties. Pretty good strike zone from the ump tonight.
  19. I do like Ron Washington...he seems like a pretty cool dude. But Nolan Ryan? Douche.
  20. Nice D hambone. This is awesome, although I do like the Yanks.
  21. He's blowing that way outta proportion. There's gotta be more to the story. Maybe he's jealous Allen still has a head of hair.
  22. Yeah, my fault. I meant it was a strict platoon after Svuem took over. He implemented it. If you remember, we faced Hamels in game 1 and Weeks started at 2b that game.
  23. Not true. Weeks suffered his first wrist injury in 2006. He was perfectly healthy in 2008 outside of a minor knee injury in June. His starts were dragged down by a very unlucky start to the season. When Svuem took over, Durham and Weeks were in a strict platoon.
  24. They're not even actually covering 50% of the repair. That is how most 30 day, 50/50 warranties work on used lots. They will just double the price on the bill, and the customer picks up the actual cost of the bill.
  25. I don't care who the next manager is, as he's basically gonna make the same exact managerial moves. Sure, he may be more fiery, but I'm not convinced that's a good thing. For that reason, I would just like to see Randolph hired. That way we can retain Svuem, who has done an excellent job with guys like McG, Hart, and Weeks. I'd hate to see the guy let go after the good work he's done here for the last 2 years.
