Wowwww. Really weird lineup. Corey Hart behind Edmonds, who maybe has 7/8 at-bats since coming off the DL. He should be hitting 8th today. Escobar benched. The results haven't been there, but he's been stinging the ball this last week. Why not give Weeks a day off instead?

And then Bill lets us know it was a fastball down the middle he just missed (actually a mistake slider). And both times Dave Bush scored on homeruns after pinch hitting for Inglett? Both by Weeks. How did he not mention that? I tend to like Rock a lot more than BA, but he's been really off this series. Must be hitting South Beach after the games.

No, but he's actually done a decent job at going the other way this year. He's pulled homeruns down the line, but those have been on pitches right down the middle. Nearly every player in the big leagues at least hits those hard. But he's like a leaky old ship, fix one hole and another's already started.

2 mistake fastballs to Weeks in that at-bat, and he misses both of him. He's finished. Hasn't turned on a inside fastball on the black or just off the plate for a hit all year.

Lawrie's glove isn't great either. We did just let a guy get away today though that could have taken his spot (heether)

What about Oakland for a possible destination? Beane has shown that he's not afraid to make a big splash for a rental if he thinks his team can contend (also not afraid to dump said player if their window closes), and that division will probably go down to the wire, so they should stay in it. -
Probably because his overall OBP is hovering around .300. Weeks isn't an ideal leadoff hitter, but he's definitely a better option than Esco. Braun's back in the 2 spot tonight, so I was clearly wrong in the post above. Hopefully we see some results tonight.

This is pure speculation, but I'm guessing Braun asked to be moved outta the 2 hole. These guys are brainwashed into thinking your best hitter hits 3rd, and a weak hitter/good bunter hits 2nd. Remember, he asked to be switched back to the 3 spot that one year Yost flipped him and Fielder.

Battlekow answered my question about Lawrie's mysteriously low LD % that I asked back on the first page. I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but either way, thank you and nice job on the list! As others have said, this is kind of a depressing Power 50. I like Lucroy as much as the next guy, but he seems like a weak #1 overall prospect. We need some guys to have big second halves (I'm looking at you, Arnett).

Estrada looks nothing like the guy from that first Cincy game. Does he just suck, or is he already overworked like the rest of our pen? Probably a little of both.

This homeplate ump has been brutal in every phase of the game. THese pricks are seriously ruining my enjoyment of the game a couple times a week. Makes you really appreciate the times when you get a good one, like the guy from the Yo/Johan duel.
