  1. If anything happens tomorrow, I doubt it's Dougs doing. He'd probably be let go with Macha if something happens. I'd personally let the Melvin/Macha duo go until the end of June. If we aren't just a couple back by then, I'd let them go and get a new guy to clean house at the deadline.
  2. Yeah, I definitely was. But after watching him lately, I think I was wrong. He basically looks like the same player he always was, which imo isn't something to settle for.
  3. I'm starting to think Rickie could just use a different team. If he wouldn't have gotten lucky with infield choppers early this year (he led the league in infield hits with 8 last I checked), his stats would be really, really ugly. And as the last at bat shows, he basically has fake plate patience. Taking the strikes, swinging at the balls. It pains me to say, but the guy is just not a good player. I'm ready to move on and let someone else start. Let him become someone elses headache.
  4. I would take Tony Parker and Russell Westbrook over Rose fairly easily. Those six. I take Billups over him too. Jennings might be better by next year. Rose is more of a combo guard in my opinion. Those types of players don't do much for me.
  5. Andrew Bogut led a team to 46 wins this season with much worse supporting cast than the Cavs. And without him we're a lottery team. Great players should carry their teams. It's completely overblown. A few years ago, there was a legitimate gripe with his cast (gooden, larry hughes, darius miles, etc), but now, I'm not seeing it. People were praising the job Ferry did during the regular season, and because Lebron choked, he's now being crucified for it. For the record, I hate Mo Williams. He's probably the player I dislike the most in the NBA. I just think Rose is overrated (I see people calling him a top 5 pg quite often). He's better than Mo, but it's not like he's elite either. For comparison, I like Jennings upside more, because he's a true pg and has some "it" factors that cannot be taught. I think you're underselling AV. He's right up there with Howard and Bogut for top defensive bigs in the league. Noah is a good rebounder, but a pretty poor man defender. AV has better size too. You're probably right Deng is a better overall player than Jamison. Jamison is a 4 that can stretch the floor though. Deng is a 3. He has no post game. Jamison is crafty under the basket and can hit the three ball at a 35% clip. Like I originally stated, I really don't care where Lebron goes (as long as it isn't something crazy like the Lakers). You still have to go thru him to win a championship regardless.
  6. Does Parra have any options? He'll never see the light of day after this performance.
  7. I tend to disagree. Noah isn't really any better than AV when you factor in defense. Both are garbage men on offense. Rose > Mo, but he's also really, really overrated. They have similar skill sets, as they're both more of a shoot first PG. Rose should be a lot better than Mo in a few years time though. Deng was a great prospect 3 years ago, but he's stagnated. He's slightly better than Jamison, but not by much. Bad contract too. People really overstate the "Lebron doesn't have enough help" angle. Sure, it's not like Lakers rotation, but Lebron is a lot better than Kobe at this point. This years cavs team was an elite team that had a terrible coach. Compound that with Lebron playing like crap, and it's easier to understand why they lost the series.
  8. Well, this ump is awful. Pitch 5 (ball) was much closer than pitch 4 (strike).
  9. First off, he's probably not a good enough hitter to stick in a corner spot. I still have no idea what type of hitter he projects to be going forward, but we're probably pretty close to seeing his peak. And as others have said, why are we going off this years small sample? Pretty meaningless. He had a terrible series defensively against the Braves, so I'm sure that really swayed it as well. I highly doubt that after he's finally shown some improvement, the Brewers would move him. Maybe when he leaves, a team will want to try him in CF, but not now.
  10. I don't see the big difference if Lebron goes to the Bulls. They're both in our division, so they basically become the Cavs (maybe a bit better). We still have to go thru him anyways. Hopefully we can get in on the Cavs fire sale if Lebron leaves. I wouldn't mind Delonte or AV on our team.
  11. Classic Davey Nelson. That's his shtick. Hoffman is a gamer. Wow.
  12. Heyward gets the Chipper-sized strike zone. This ump has been inconsistent, to say the least.
  13. McClouth flashing that GG defense. Haha, he doesn't even pass the eye test. All of his sliding catches are routine.
  14. I'm with you guys in your liking of Hawk/Stone. The White Sox were my team growing up in the 90s, so I've listened to him a lot. He's an acquired taste.
  15. He's been over worked though. There are so many things going wrong that it's having a trickle down effect on the whole team.
  16. Edmonds is the only "CFer" on the roster who doesn't catch that bloop, btw. That's what happens when your best active OFer is sitting in LF.
  17. And then strike 1 to Inglett is a foot off the plate. I guess things even out. LHB's get hosed on that call all the time. I hate that.
  18. Unreal bat speed, and seems like he'll be able to harness it. I'd trade anyone on our team outside of Braun for him. Also, what is rock smoking? How was the Fielder play routine? It was killed and took a bad hop.
  19. How is McG a bonafide stud major league hitter after being so average in the minors? Damn did we got lucky with that pickup.
  20. That ball did have a lot of late movement on it. Off the bat it looked like a sure thing. Prince has had about 5 or 6 foul ball homeruns this year. Smooth move, Jody.
  21. Jeez, that's a routine play for a lot of 3b. I see what people are saying with McG's range now.
  22. We should of started Counsell today. Good career numbers against Lowe, and never seems to have a bad at bat.
