  1. Lohse usually paints the corners against us. 26:4 K/BB Ratio. Hopefully he doesn't have his usual command tonight.
  2. I have no problem with him asking for a lot in exhange for the ball. I wouldn't do it, but it's his right, and if he gets the moon, good for him. But something with him switching jerseys and hats just really rubs me the wrong way. It would be a desperate stunt for anyone to pull, but for a guy with hundreds(thousands??) of souvenirs to his name, it's just plain pathetic.
  3. Keith was actually a pretty good looking guy (early/mid 60's) before he started his heavy drug use. But yeah, now, he hardly looks human. Ginger Baker was pretty goofy looking from his Cream days.
  4. Noddy Holder from Slade has to be up there.
  5. Weeks, Hart, and Cameron should all have the green light. I'd be fine with everyone else not stealing though.
  6. I really, really liked Dillard from the little I saw of him. He was hitting mid 90's on the FSN gun with a power sinker that he seemed to keep down. It's those types of relievers that I always hate to see our guys face.
  7. In the comments section, someone mentioned it's already out on DVD. That's not to say I expected a theatrical release, but FtJ is probably right that there is probably tons of awesome movies like this out there already.
  8. I think if they have any intention of keeping Weeks past arby, they should lock him up now or never. If Weeks winds up producing like this for a full season, he might just price himself right out of Doug's range. I think that's what Xellence is trying to get at. If Weeks continues to blow up, the Brewers have a steal. If he reverts back to his career norms, probably not to big of a deal either, as the contract won't "break the bank". Personally, I don't think an extension makes sense for either side, especially if the braintrust believes Lawrie is on the fast track to MLB.
  9. His K-rate is right around 25 % for the year, which is right in line with what he's done since he's been in the league. Also, his walk rate has been steadily increasing since he got his 2nd walk several weeks back. I think him walking just 1 time in his first 70 or 80 at-bats was more or less just a fluke, deflating his OBP to start the year in the process. I have no idea what to expect from Weeks at the plate going forward. He's been all across the board from year to year. I do believe he's turned a corner defensively though.
  10. The last scene from the trailer had me in stitches.
  11. He had the longest homerun of any Brewer this year before that, against Petit, I think.
  12. 8 straight fastballs to Corey and Braun. All very hittable.
  13. At the very least, Brenly is reconfirming my belief in Doug Melvin. If Marshall hits Braun with a fastball there, Marshall is probably ejected. Obviously the Cubs bullpen situation is pretty shaky right now. What a dolt.
  14. I was thinking the same thing Gorman. I'm wondering if that's one of those plays people claim Escobar makes rather routinely.
  15. He's been pullling off everything since that second Cincy game. Yeah, he did hit his rbi single hard and walked but that didn't mean much with tonight's ridiculous zone.
  16. Nice win. Always love beating up on the Scrubbies. Weeks needs a day or two off. I can't recall the last time he's looked as bad at the plate than he has the last 3 games.
  17. Julio needs to be DFA'd. I went out in Milwaukee last Saturday, and it was me and 3 of my friends, and 3 other girls (all around 21). Around bar time, one of the girls had said she had to leave (very attractive, I might add), and I asked where she was going, and she replied, "oh, I'm gonna go hang out with Jorge Julio". Point of the story you ask? Let's hope he doesn't get that chance tonight. Send him home Doug.
  18. Counsell now has 50 at-bats with an .880 OPS. Couple that with his good finish last year, and he's had a decent sized stretch with a very high OBP.
  19. Yeah, I think Hall will start tomorrow too. I was thinking Rickie will get the day off tomorrow, as he's been scuffling, hasn't had a full game off, and doesn't really have a pronounced L/R split like Hall does.
  20. Bill Hall looked terrible last night, so I'm not really surprised he got the night off. I'd rather see Corey #2 than Counsell though. Weeks has looked like garbage the last 2 nights as well. IIRC, he's only gotten one day off so far this year. I'm guessing McG will start in his place tomorrow.
  21. Hoffman has been amazing. Kind of off-topic, but if MLB ever went to a questec like system, Milton Bradley would draw about 300 walks. Everytime he's ticked off about a called strike it's for good reason.
  22. Unbelievable. That wasn't even a bad pitch. Just a perfect swing.
  23. Kendall has a legitimate beef there. That's a huge pet peeve of mine, and is just flat-out lazy umping.
  24. Man, where do the Cubs get these power arms? Guzman has a 90 mph slider. That's just unfair. Edit: That a way Hardy. Jinxed him obviously.
