  1. I was kind of wondering if Suppan could bring anything at the deadline.
  2. Well, hopefully this is the last we hear of it. Braun is a great player and we're lucky to have him at the contract we do, so I could honestly care less if he's the biggest jerk in the entire world, as long as he continues to back it up with his play. Are the people that get really riled up over this "cut from the same cloth" as the people that whine about the untucking of the t-shirts constantly? I wouldn't doubt it.
  3. When I went to UWM, it seemed quite often there were more homeless bums on computers than actual students. And about 100% of the time, they were on chat rooms or looking at soft-core porn, not hard-core, iirc. That always sucked when you just wanted to spend 10 seconds to print a paper for a class that was about to start in 10 minutes.
  4. Childress is an okay player, but I don't want to go with a 4 or 5 year full MLE. The Celtics aren't bring back Powe. He'd be a great signing.
  5. The nice part about drafting Euro's in the late first round/second round is you can stash them in Europe for several seasons, and let them develop there, all the while retaining their rights.
  6. The more I'm reading on Jennings, the more I'm liking the pick. He's definitely got the chance to be a superstar, and has a pretty intriguing personality. He's definitely a project, but I like that he's played in a Euroleague full of vets instead of one year of college where a guy with his talent would just dominate. Skiles really likes the guy, and I'm 100% confident in Skiles' opinion. Meeks is a decent pick to me. If he makes the roster, he's a success. I would have rather had Budinger as well though. The fact that a GM as smart as Morey wound up with him kind of reaffirms that for me.
  7. Bucks take one of Hill/Holliday/Jennings, in that order. Out of those three, I'd want Holliday. Him and Sessions could easily play together in the backcourt. I think Flynn is gonna be gone, but if he's there, they'll take him. There's been rumors of DeRozan maybe falling. If he's there at 10, the Bucks better take him. I think he's got as good of a chance at being a star as anyone in the draft.
  8. Yeah, that's what is so maddening bobskube. I don't truly believe he's as bad vs. LHP as he's shown this year, but I also don't think he's as good vs. them as he showed last year when he had an .893 ops with a .380 BABIP. In hindsight, backloading Hall's contract has to be one of Melvin's most costly mistakes as Brewer GM(you could also say extending Hall in general, but that was a no brainer at the time). A lot of our core guys that will be in arbitration next year were still in their minimum salary days in 06 and 07. Now Hall's contract is an albatross, and those guys will probably get hefty pay raises.
  9. I think ESPN's content really sucks for the most part, so it really amazes me how good their commercials are. I've must of seen the Pujols "machine" commercial 50 times, and it still awes me everytime.
  10. Hmmm. There are rumors going around that Bowen might be in the Bucks plans? That would be downright silly, and make me believe Hammond might be the biggest idiot of all-time. There are only a handful of non-guaranteed contracts in the NBA. He was gift-wrapped two (Oberto and Bowen), and proceeded to trade away one, and now might keep the other?!?!
  11. I think the guy is cooked. Pitchers are just daring him to hit thigh-high fasbtalls, and he's just swinging right through them. Let's face it. At this point, he's way below replacement level, and a guy like Adam Heether would undoubtedly contribute a lot more to this team. At what point, if any, do we eat this guy's contract? I'd personally look into it later in July if he doesn't show any signs.
  12. FYP. Probably not the most apt time after his fluke double, but this guy is the biggest joker I've seen in awhile.
  13. I disagree. LRMAM is a way better defender and rebounder than RJ, and he'll be the one getting the majority of his old minutes. If Bogut stays healthy all year that's a huge upgrade from the ELson/Gadz combo we had to endure during his absence. Joe Alexander can't get any worse than he was last year. Sessions should improve. Iylasova might be coming back, and supposedly is a damn good prospect. I'm expecting to get a good player at 10 (Jrue Holiday please). And to top all that off, Skiles is a really good coach who's teams routinely overachieve.
  14. It's so hot I just buzzed my head. Highly recommended.
  15. Kurt Thomas is light years better than Malik Allen ever was or ever will be. Allen is probably one of the worst players in the league, and if he didn't have a guaranteed contract, he wouldn't have a spot in the NBA. I'm guessing he's gonna ask to be bought out, which is a shame, because he'd be a good addition to the frontcourt for one season.
  16. Hammond pulled a rabbit out of his hat on this one. If you don't like this deal, look at it this way. Would you rather have 2 of a Sessions, CV, or Ilyasova trio, or Richard Jefferson? Keep in mind the Bucks have a 0% chance at winning a title next year, and that LRMAM might be a better all around player than RJ as of right now. Well done John Hammond. Now just don't blow another lottery pick.
  17. I think a lot of people (myself included) didn't think Hansbrough would be a good pro because he's white, and figured he probably wasn't athletic enough to make it in the NBA. But as someone else mentioned, he measured out very good. I think he's about the size of David Lee, who's been very successful, and Hansbrough is probably more talented. I think he'll go between picks 10 and 20. I was high on Blair before this whole draft process, but the reports of his knee surgeries in high school has scared me off from taking him at 10. If we could get Holiday I'd be ecstatic. Derozan somehow falling to 10 would be amazing.
  18. I'm actually really surprised he turned this down.
  19. That was a perfect pitch, so I can't blame the ump for being kind of ticked at Cameron. Cameron is a great teammate by all accounts, but since he's become a Brewer I've noticed he's pretty damn cocky to just about every homeplate ump.
  20. Oh man, that Yost post-game interview was awesome. I wonder if it's still around somewhere.
  21. Hanson has a weird hitch in his delivery. I'd be kind of afraid of that if I were a Braves fan.
  22. Hardy's been fine for over a month now, so I can see why fans aren't on him. But I do agree with you that Hardy could bat .200 the whole year and the fans, and Brian Anderson, would still love him.
