  1. Loved this episode. I had low expectations going in, but they made it work, despite a few awful Michael moments (toast scene, gimme a break, he can't act somewhat normal for a change?!). Andy just keeps on delivering. It's hard to believe this show went without him for 2 seasons. I don't know if anyone is still watching Community, but if you stopped, it has picked up, and in my opinion it is definitely worth watching. The Brit professor from the daily show (name escapes me) is excellent. I had no idea that Joe and Anthony Russo (from Arrested Development) are the creators of the show. No wonder it's good.
  2. I agree with you Teatoe. If you don't want to spend a ton, Ford is the way to go. The Flex is amazing. I finally sat in one a few weeks back and it blew me away. It shares the same powertrain as the Taurus X so I'm thinking reliability-wise they should be fine.
  3. If you're gonna go with a crossover, I'd recommend a Nissan Murano or Ford Edge. Both are very impressive. Little bit pricey, but it'll pay in the long run. Just really solid vehicles. For the money, an Equinox isn't too bad. Several things I have noticed: chew up brakes very fast, wheel bearings are a problem (pretty normal for GM), and like a lot of other domestic SUV's (Liberty's, Escapes, Grand Cherokees) the interior quality is poor. Water stains, and they're damn near impossible to keep clean. Solid enough powertrain though. If your looking for something in that price range that is reliable, I would go with an Escape (2005+). Make sure to go with the 3.0L 6cyl over the 4cyl. They're a bit noisy, but they handle awesome in the snow.
  4. Offer Lopez arby. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if he accepted. He's be impressive since he's been here. I'd like to keep them both, because odds are Weeks struggles mightily out of the gate next year. That's a long lay off for a hitter who's just hiting his prime. If Weeks comes back strong, Lopez could be a good utility player or decent trade bait.
  5. "Others" must refer to only like 3 or 4 people on this board, because that's about how many posters actually thought he was trash because of his early season struggles. If Cameron wants a raise (and I wouldn't blame him), I would plug in Gerut and spend the money elsewhere. If Cam comes back, he'd be a hell of a 4th OFer. That was a good trade by Melvin.
  6. iTunes customer service is *also* a piece of crap.
  7. Liked the episode. Still bugs me how over-the-top and unrealistic Michael is, but that's been going on regularly since season 3 now. I think Community has a lot of potential. Pilots usually suck and I found some parts funny. Sunny was very good imo. Vic Vinegar and Hugh Honey. Those three that write (and act) the show are comedic geniuses.
  8. If Hammond could look forward 2 years, and see that Jennings is gonna be a Chris Paul talent, I'd argue he should still lock up Ramon to the deal he wound up getting. That contract is gonna prove to one of the biggest bargains in the league in a season or two. I was 99% sure he wasn't gonna match, but I still can't believe it actually happened.
  9. So Hammond cut ties with our young assets (CV and Ramon), receiving absolutely nothing in compensation, and replaced them with older players with little to no upside? I hate Hammond, but I didn't think he was capable of this much fail. You could make an argument for it if his goal is to completey tank this season, and have a low payroll, but still, yet again, we're right up against the luxury tax. I know I'm basically repeating what Paulus88 said, but I just need to vent. No one I know cares about the Bucks, and moves like this show why hardly anyone does anymore.
  10. If for some godforsaken reason he is coming back, this better be his role. I still don't see the point in it, as he's not a stud defensively anymore. As X ellence pointed out a few weeks ago, guys with a defensive rep (Blanco) are now better offensively than Kendall as well.
  11. If Hammond can pull a rabbit out of his hat and some how keep Sessions I'll be pleased with this offseason. There's just no justification for letting him walk. The numbers he put up as a 23 yr old PG are pretty special. As Diskono kinda mentioned, Ridnour's expiring doesn't have much value to the Bucks because they don't have any cap room to take something back. If they could trade him for a second round pick in this years draft, I'd do that. Then they could keep Ramon. The other option is to let his contract expire, and take the cap relief next offseason, but I'm not so sure Hammond knows that's an option. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. I also think it's funny that he "chats" the same way he actually talks/broadcasts, which is rare.
  13. I love Matt V in general, but hated him doing football. He just doesn't have the right voice for it. People like Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver I can tolerate because they have good voices. I find myself rarely listening to their nonsense anyways, because since they're color guys, they just tend to recycle the same old cliches over and over again anyways.
  14. Everytime I've seen Escobar play SS, whether it be Spring Training or his limited big league time, he's looked pretty shaky on defense. I remember reading on here that he'd be a contender for a gold glove the day he got called up. I'll still assume he's a plus defender, and go by the scouting reports until he gets a significant sample size. .
  15. Nice 330 ft single by Dunn there. Good thing that guy can hit. because he's useless in just about every other facet.
  16. The only value Hall had was negative. The track record you speak of keeps creeping farther and farther away. I think Bill Hall's days as a productive major leaguer are long gone. I'm pleased Melvin got 1.3 million for him. We can't dump Suppan because we don't have many SP's better than him. Nearly any guy in AAA could have outperform Bill Hall's line from this year, so he was just a waste of a roster spot.
  17. It's close, but I'd still go with Pujols. I feel hopeless when that guy comes up. The only time I recall him looking bad during an at-bat was last year vs. CC. Mauer plays the more valuable position, but I've always felt 1B defense is pretty underrated. A guy like Pujols makes his infielders look a lot better than a guy like Prince does.
  18. I don't know about you, but I'd have rather just bought out Oberto's contract, and signed Sessions, and called it an offseason. I was fine with trading for Amir Johnson initially, because there was a wee chance he breaks out and becomes a stud. Instead, we have Delfino and Ukic, and no Sessions. There just isn't any upside there. I'm just floored that we've lost Villanueva, and now Sessions, for nothing. What a nightmare.
  19. Jesus. Hammond's moves have been all over the place this summer. I thought he was heading in the right direction with the Jefferson salary dump and his draft picks, but apparently not. Why is he trading his expiring contracts for mediocre role players? What is Hammond's plan?
  20. Macha's pulling a Costanza. He must wanna get fired. Ueck just did his pre-game interview with him, and his quote on Escobar went something like this: "He's got good range, but he's probably gonna make some mistakes on balls hit right to him." What's the point in saying this? Guy is a really weird dude.
  21. Wow, what a day. Of course this would be the day where I'd be no where around a computer. I'd just like to say whoever made this move is a snake. Melvin set up Castro to fail. He's the scapegoat, and you think the organization would have more class than to fire a guy who's been around so long. 3/4 of a year?!? Give me a break. The only positive I can take from this year is Macha is unlikely to manage this team in 2010. Thank god he stupidly accepted a 2 yr contract.
  22. Haha, that is nuts. And to think, Bill S still said it's too close to take with 2 strikes. I can see why he had a sub .300 OBP for his career. Also, I'd be interested in seeing Cam's called third strike, as I'm pretty sure it was a ball as well. Definitely borderline though. I can live with them making a mistake. But it seems like a lot of the time they compound said mistake by throwing out someone who has a legitimate beef with the call. That's something that needs to stop asap.
  23. Shane Victorino was thrown out today...from centerfield. The problem that is MLB umpiring probably deserves its own thread.
  24. I think $8m per year is overpaying. By quite a bit. If he would take 1yr/$4m I'd do that.
  25. I think it was against LAD were Counsell made a great slide, and Russ Martin went for the tag and got air. The more I think about, the more I blame MLB than the umpires themselves, as it's gotta be next to impossible to tell if a guy gets in there when the throw does beat them by several feet. If you call the guy safe and you turn out to be wrong in a situation like that, it's a million times worse. Instant replay is a no-brainer to me on plays at the plate. It wouldn't be time consuming at all, and we're talking about plays that routinely have huge effects on the game's outcome. Edit: Very slow pony.
