  1. Seeing news like this always knocks the wind out of me. What a tragedy for his family and the 2 others as well.
  2. Just another day at the office for Dusty Baker: Volquez: 4+ IP, 107 pitches. Also, the home plate ump in the Red Sox/Rays games has been really, really off.
  3. What really sucked is that pitch was only a strike for Giants pitchers. In Weeks' second AB, the first called strike was even more outside than Billy's called 3rd strike. Whenever I have a beef with a crew, it always seems like Demuth is always a part of it. Hate that guy.
  4. I finished off a 6 pack of New Glarus Black Wheat yesterday and really enjoyed it.
  5. It wasn't just behind though. At times it was completely inaccurate. Just a terrible broadcast yesterday, from the clowns in the studio (mainly Grayson, hiow the hell did he get this gig?), all the way to the guy who had trouble following the count for the ticker. Also, did the Davey Nelson experiment officially come to an end, or does he only do home games?
  6. We better be out of the race by then, or I'd be kind of ticked off. Replacing Soup with McClung or an AAA guy like Green or Wright is a downgrade. I definitely agree with your second statement.
  7. I'm in for the Weeks Beckett mag. Once again, thanks Pedro.
  8. Jorge Julio is FAAAAAAAAANTASTIC! I'd be shocked if he's on the team come June 1st.
  9. Howry is a guy I wish we would have signed this last offseason. Good buy low signing for the Giants.
  10. Lincecum is jacked so far. Hopefully we can chase him before 6. Edit: And on cue, throws a sick change to Billy.
  11. I'm as big as of a Soup basher as the next guy, but he really only gave up one solid knock. Lot's of bad luck with billy out of position and hardy covering the bag.
  12. Yes it has. I'd much rather have him than Soup.
  13. Zambrano looked really good yesterday. Velocity was up, and he's in way better shape than the last few years. I'd bet he'll have a monster year.
  14. The Reds lineup is really working the count against Johan. Dusty Baker is not amused.
  15. Position Players: Kendall: .255/.322/.342 Fielder: .281/.391/.563 Weeks: .249/.359/.448 Hardy: .288/.347/.467 Hall: .261/.319/.458 Braun: .307/.351/.580 Cameron: .246/.333/.442 Hart: .288/.330/.477 Bench: McGehee: .260/.320/.388 Counsell: .244/.340/.339 Nelson: .269/.347/.431 Duffy: .266/.326/.371 Rivera: .255/.296/.403 Starting Pitchers: Gallardo: 15-11 3.52 1.14 Parra: 12-9 4.01 1.32 Bush: 13-12 4.39 1.26 Suppan: 10-13 4.99 1.51 Looper: 13-9 4.22 1.39 Bullpen: Todd Coffey: 4.27 1.41 Mark DiFelice: 3.79 1.20 Juliio: INC (won't be on team long) McClung: 4.96 1.52 Riske: 4.00 1.39 Stetter: 3.29 1.18 Villanueva: 3.33 1.14 Hoffman: 3.87 1.20
  16. No, but I'll make sure to. You and I seem to have the same taste in beer. (I'm not a fan of Dancing Man either.)
  17. That's an excellent post, and I agree with almost everything you said in that last paragraph. Kendall batting ninth made perfect sense and it was working the way they drew it up, but still, it was scrapped. As far as I know, we never got an explanation as to why. And I'd love to have Prince or Braun in the 2 hole, but it's not even slightly realistic for the reason you mentioned. I'd have to think baseball is still probably a few years away from a MLB manager using a lineup simulator and going "outside-the-box".
  18. I really like the O's Baltimore jerseys, and the Red Sox sure made a lot of changes, some of which I really like. Pittsburgh went back to regular jerseys instead of vests. Probably a good move.
  19. Fat Tire is a one of the best beers I have ever tried, so I'm pretty excited about the New Belgium news.
  20. Someone told me this in the Fall of 07 and I laughed it off. Is there any truth to this rumor?
  21. That is why I'm fine with Corey batting leadoff. I don't think he's going to have an OBP around .300 again. I think both Hart and Weeks will probably put up an OBP in the .340 - .360 range.

  23. Yeah me too. His stance is definitely a lot more "quiet". He sure put up some stinkers on the last two televised games, but I can't complain with his overall results this spring. It seems Svuem has done more in 2 months with the hitters than Skaalen did in 2 years.
