  1. Yes, he was one of the fastest. And Weeks was very pedestrian. But I believe it was just a timed 60 yd dash where they were in running shoes and clothes, so it meant very little baseball wise.
  2. I'll echo this as well. He reminds me of a young Seinfeld. Always a good listen on Bill Simmons' Podcast.
  3. I believe these came out last year, and for fans that haven't seen them, they're very well done.
  4. It was more or less him talking about how he really struggles with the passive/aggressiveness of the role. And Melvin also spoke candidly about it a month or so back as well. He's never said "I want out of the role" or anything like that though.
  5. Bobby Crosby's star has fallen every year, it seems. Didn't he win RoTY several years ago? I'm really hoping the A's take that division. I'm sick of watching the Angels in the postseason and listening to announcers fawn over Scioscia.
  6. I think they didn't like it because of how backloaded it is. He might be broken down by the time the deal runs out, and that's when he's making his biggest dollars. One that stood out to me was Kei Igawa. I recalled that contract being more like 5/25 than 5/46. He's basically a AAAA player and he's making over 9 mil a year. Unreal.
  7. I'd love to see Braun in the 2 hole, but I think Macha is just too old-school to do that. A lineup I'd like to see that I think is somewhat realistic would be: Hart Hardy Braun Fielder Cameron Hall Weeks Kendall I don't want Weeks getting the most PA's when he's one of our worst hitters. And he basically admitted this offseason that he doesn't like leading off, so might as well get him out of there.
  8. I'd have to think Hoffman is a longshot if Cameron isn't here as well. That's purely speculation on my part, but from what I've read, Cameron seems to be one of the most well liked guys in the league.
  9. Off the top of my head I'd go with Ennder, logan, and brettac.
  10. Why the hell wouldn't he expect it to go away? It happened to every other guy who admitted to it (Giambi and Pettite), and they were actually in the Mitchell Report, not in a supposedly confidential report that should have never got leaked to the public.
  11. I know there is no point in debating it now, but if Hammonds didn't trade RJ for Wally's expiring because he didn't want to trade within the division (which he actually said), he's an absolute moron. I can maybe see that line of thought if it's between the Celtics and Cavs (even then that logic is very sketchy; a trade should make both teams better in theory), but give me a break. We're going nowhere even if we make the playoffs. I think this whole deadline ordeal shows extreme shortsightedness on the Bucks front office. If sneaking into the playoffs is their goal, fine. It's their right to believe that, even if it is wrong. But if we don't make it, Hammonds should be fired after the season. Donnie Walsh cleaned up the NYK's mess in the same amount of time, and there was no question they were in much worse shape than us. Not even close really.
  12. So does that mean that they are skipped in the draft? I have never heard of this happening before in any sport. Is this a new rule? We can pay it, it's just that Herb won't pay it. Same situation as the Suns the few previous years.
  13. People that tailgate me when I'm going 55 in a 45, and then when the limit moves up to 55, and I logically proceed to speed up to 65, they're left behind in the dust. I can't begin to explain how bad this bugs me, and it's nearly a daily occurrence.
  14. http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp309/npascare2/lebronsitting.jpg
  15. As long as they can just trade RJ, and maybe Ridnour along with him, they will be fine. No one is taking Gadz unless we include Sessions or draft picks, which defeats its purpose. After next season, Gadz and Redd are going to be very valuable expirings that could allow us to pick up a very good player, so I'm fine with him as long as we can clear salary in different ways.
  16. Why shouldn't we though? The team, even when full healthy, has no shot in hell at winning a championship. I'm not saying making this trade would make us contenders, it won't. It'll make us worse this year (probably not by much). We still don't have an alpha dog on the team, and you have to find one through the draft. But this trade would put us on the right track.
  17. Cap space also allows you to basically take on players for free if a team needs to clear salary, a la Camby to LAC trade last summer, or get draft picks for nothing when a team has to sell the. off (Suns in recent years). I think I read this on RealGM the last time I was lurking, but if the Bucks stay put and don't even make a move this week they will have to let CV walk and trade their first rounder. That is suicide for a team that should be in rebuild mode. This trade, along with the fact that Gadz and Redd will be expiring in 2011, would probably make Milwaukee one of the more desirable rebuilding teams to be a GM of.
  18. That could turn the franchise's future from gloomy to bright very, very fast. Sounds too good to be true. I don't want to get too excited, but we could have a core of Bogut, LRMAM, CV and Sessions resigned at reasonable contracts, Joe Alexander, 3 draft picks from this coming draft, and Ilyasova by this time next week.
  19. With how big the 2010 offseason is going to be, the names behind the salaries are nearly irrelevant. Miami isn't winning jack this year, and they know it. But now, I'm pretty sure Miami now could go sign both Wade and Lebron in 2010 because of JON's huge expiring.
  20. I love NBA trades. It was a good deal for both teams really. Sure, Toronto got better right now, but the Heat got rid of a bad contract(Banks) and have a ton of cap room in 09-10 offseason.
  21. The Angela cat scenes were brutal. I think everyone was a bit off last night except for Pam and Kelly. Loved the part 1 of the episode though.
  22. Until last year I would have been right there with you. I had a cheaper Char-broil gas grill and a standard Weber charcoal grill and I always used the Weber. Last Spring, I bought the Weber Genesis Gas Grill and I can't taste the difference. Definitely worth the extra money. http://www.homedepot.com/...+501047+90401+501047+2080
  23. I agree 100%. Did Bud and his braintrust brainstorm and pick the worst possible idea they came up with? Erase the players like Arod, Bonds, and McGwire from the record books, but keep guys like Sosa in it because they haven't been proven (yet)? Big deal, let the records stand.
  24. That trade is pretty unrealistic. The Bucks are easily getting the two best players in the deal, and giving up garbage in return (except CV). I do agree with you that the Bucks need a Gordon type player to pair with Sessions, but the only way you can get a guy like that is through the draft, or a trade if you have expirings for the 2010 offseason. Gordon, Mayo, and Westbrook all would have been terrific fits with Sessions, and all of them are studs. We should have definitely traded up to the Knicks 6 spot last year. They could have still drafted Gallinari at 8.
