  1. Ahhh! Big Nelson just missed a homerun to RF after Haren hung one in the zone. I have Time Warner in Oshkosh and it's on. A few times it has switched to commercials during the middle of an inning.
  2. Haha. Yes, he does look a lot like McCarthy. The umps strike zone is microscopic. Haren threw a 1-2 fastball to Weeks that split the plate in half and it was called a ball. Bush has been squeezed multiple times as well.
  3. Judging by his obnoxious commercials, absolutely not.
  4. I love how Macha is willing to change it up and try new things. The only thing I'd change from his current lineup is flipping Weeks and Hart. Hart puts the ball in play on the first pitch so often I'm thinking Weeks is gonna have a hell of a time trying to steal a bag. Where as Weeks almost always goes deep in the count and would allow Hart plenty of time to pick his spot.
  5. The guy from the Woodman's commercial tilts me. Real bad. Godspeed: that title is so unbelievable I can't help but laugh.
  6. Well, looks like McGehee is on the team, as Counsell appears DL bound according to Tom H.
  7. I'm sure Lance Berkman is thrilled to be gettting "advice" from this dork. On a side note, this guy is off-the-charts on the Unintentional Comedy Scale.
  8. I think it's safe to say the writers have run out of ideas, because just about anything would be better than this twist.
  9. Ugh. This is pretty frustrating. What was the point in playing him today if he admitted he wasn't 100%?
  10. Ubaldo has very good stuff. And what is with Hall showing up the ump in a Spring Training game?
  11. I thought the first two rounds were very dull as well. Sure, there were several exciting games, but even those were very poor basketball for the most part.
  12. That was a pretty good win considering Matthews and McNeal only showed up for the last 3 minutes, and as you said, it was essentially a road game.
  13. What is with Weeks trying to steal home? Hopefully that's just an Spring Training experiment.
  14. Yeah, now if they'd only stop taking ill-advised 3's. Marquette is thoroughly dominating but only up by 8. So frustrating.
  15. I have no problem if Macha feels the need to bat Kendall leadoff against certain pitchers that are a bad matchup for Weeks. I wouldn't be too surprised to see him leading off opening day against Lincecum. But against most, Weeks is definitely a better option.
  16. I agree here with you FTJ. I guess I'm just picturing Melvin out in Arizona, showing his printouts to anyone who will listen. Sounds like he's really trying to defend his decision to keep him, when he doesn't really need to. As Melvin said last week, if Weeks was a 4th rounder, most of the naysayers would say he's a decent player instead of "OMGZ he's turribble".
  17. Considering he's Julian Tavarez, this is pretty ballsy. He's obviously not in a position to be too picky about what team he goes to.
  18. I really, really struggle against RHP's with the Brewers righty dominated lineup. But when I face pretty much any lefty I go off. Just got done beating Hamels 11-2. Also, for those that play online, what are the cheap baserunning tactics people use?
  19. -No, I agree with trwi7 there, especially if we take salary into consideration. Redd's skill is very replaceable, and SG is arguably the easiest position to fill. -Redd could be the second best player on a contender if he was paired with a super-duper star like LBJ, Wade, Kobe, CP3, Duncan, or Howard. Otherwise, no, if he was paired with a guy even as good as Bosh, they wouldn't have a chance. To win a championship, you either need one of those top 5 or 10 alpha dogs, or a team constructed like the Celtics or the Pistons from a few years ago. Redd would obviously have to be part of the latter, but with his contract, it makes it a near impossibility.
  20. Can anyone tell me if Gameday is accurate during Spring Training? It sure looks like too many one pitch and done AB's for it to be correct.
  21. I agree. Bogut is much better overall player than Redd. As for wings that are better than Redd (not taking salary into consideration): Out of Redd's league: Lebron, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Kobe, Kevin Martin, Manu Ginobli, Joe Johnson, Dwanye Wade, Caron Butler, Carmelo, Kevin Durant, Brandon Roy. Can make a case either way: Andre Iguodala, OJ Mayo, John Salmons, Rip Hamilton, Josh Howard, Shane Battier, Rudy Gay, Ronnie Brewer Redd is most likely better: Stephen Jackson, Jason Richardson, Richard Jefferson, Loul Deng, Hedo Turkoglu
  22. Yeah, Damp will be a commodity next year. I think on one of Bill Simmons' podcasts they determined he was gonna be the "hot" expiring next year, just like Raef Lafrentz was this year. I'd do that trade, even though I think Howard is probably one of the worst "good" players in the league. But Stackhouse's contract is partially NG'd, so we could just waive him, and of course have the Dampier expiring. JJHardy7: People "undervalue" Redd because with his salary, he's a net negative, and because of contracts like RJ and his, we're gonna lose 2 of the CV, Sessions, and 1st Rd pick combination. The days of giving the Michael Redd's of the world max deals are over. He's not a first banana, and probably not even a second on a good team. But yet he's getting paid like he's a top 20 NBA player, when he's probably not even a top 20 wing player anymore. If he loses any athleticism from this injury, he's worthless. That said, I'd rather trade RJ because a) his value will be higher. b) we have LRMAM and (maybe JA) to step in and take the minutes at the 3. Of course, about 3 weeks ago we had our chance at clearing his salary, but our idiot GM (who doesn't have a clear plan) didn't want to trade within the division, because the Cavs are such a big threat to our run at the championship this year. /sarcasm
  23. LOL! Were you kidding, or did Ueck make it seem like it was a good play?
  24. Figured this would be the best place to post this. Unbelievable.
