  1. Completely agree. I think it's fair to say he's always gonna be a very bad second baseman. He probably isn't gonna be any better or worse than last year. If he continues to be an above average offensive 2nd baseman I'd settle just having him be able to field the routine balls (ala Jeff Kent), and turn the tailor made double play which seemed to be a problem for him at the end of last year. Prince could also help out the whole infield by doing a better job of digging throws out of the dirt. I don't recall him ever actually making a great dig.
  2. On the front of ESPN Keith Law has him (along with Wainwright and Kendrick) as one of his breakout players. Predicted 20+ homers, OBP near .400 and plenty of steals. That is eerily close to your prediction. I'd be thrilled if that was his final line.
  3. The Green Bay Packer media in general bugs me because of such overbearing coverage but the term "Packer People" really ticks me off. When Corey Williams had his Cleveland press conference they made it seem like he was trashin' the organization and off course had to get one "Packer People" in the one minute story.
  4. 1. Goodfellas 2. The Departed 3. Heat - I think its really underrated. Didn't see anyone mention it. Maybe it's not in the gangster genre. 4. Godfather 2 5. Casino
  5. 30 Rock. I know it won the Emmy for best comedy. But it's still getting low ratings. I couldn't have saw more than 3 episodes last year. Figured it was pretty good but not worth watching every week like The Office. Started watching it this season and I love it. Closest thing to Arrested Development IMO. Definitely heavily influenced by it. Baldwin kills it on this show. And Cerie might be the hottest chick of all-time. I think it has taken over best comedy currently on the air from The Office (which I'm starting to think peaked with the Season 2 finale, Casino Night). If you have Netflix you can watch Season 1 on your computer. Definitely worth your time.
  6. After seeing James' bonheaded play on the highlights, my suspicions of him as a player were confirmed. I think... I think Dominic James would have been a lottery pick ten years ago. Unfortunately for him, point guards of his kind (shoot first with a bad fg %, mixed with a bad attitude, and topped off with a extremely low basketball IQ) are slowly being weeded out of the NBA. We're seeing a renaissance of great floor generals. Great news for basketball fans though, the NBA games have been very good this year, especially the West. I hardly watch college basketball but when I do happen to see him play, I see a shorter version of Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury. Not exactly the pro comparisons a prospect should want these days.
  7. -Crash: The movie. Friend told me it's great and recommended it. Horrible, horrible movie. Full of racial sterotypes and after-school special bad acting. In my opinion it's the worst best picture winner. (Yes, I think Titanic is better) -Miller Lite: I'm in college, and most people my age kill me for not drinking it. I know it's from Wisconsin. That doesn't make it good.
  8. Yeah TLB, I've noticed that too. He looks like a little leaguer fielding in all the pics from this Spring. It's something he should definitely work on.
  9. I'd have to go with Weeks. I'm sick of having to defend him to casual fans who call him a bust. Tons of talent, but just hasn't been able to keep those wrists healthy. And after reading McCalvy's article on him on the main Brewer's website today I just get the impression that he is a good dude. Really humble for a professional athlete which is always nice to see.
  10. Yeah, GOB would definitely dig that cover. I am hoping that some "real" Spring Training pics are released soon. I'm assuming these are for baseball cards.
  11. 1. Hanley Ramirez 2. Frank Thomas 3. Curtis Granderson 4. Chipper Jones 5. Barry Bonds - Is he a jerk? Definitely. But he was always my favorite player growing up and that hasn't changed.
  12. 1. Jeff Kent 2. Alfonso Soriano 3. Aramis Ramirez 4. Troy Glaus 5. Jeff Francoeur
  13. I just heard on a AM radio station (I think it was an Action 2 News Update) playing here at work that Weeks is going to receive sporadic playing time for the forseeable future. Ughh. I think a trip to Nashville would be more beneficial.
  14. Sure, he has "3 years" of MLB experience. But in reality he has only ~ 1000 at-bats, and several hundred or so you could argue he hasn't been 100% during those at-bats. If I recall correctly, he has had somewhat of a hot-streak in April on our first road-trip (Florida, St. Louis, Cinncinnati). Pretty much in that span he hit all his homeruns and was one of our only threats as Prince and JJ were in early season struggles at the time.
  15. Rickie has definitely struggled this year, no doubt. But it's not like he has hurt the team considering our other options at 2nd. He still gets on-base at a good clip considering the poor batting average he does carry. I would like to see him swing at the first pitch more often and give up a little of his patience at the plate. It seems like he is ALWAYS down in the count 0-2, and the first pitch is the only fastball he sees the whole at-bat.
  16. I'm in the Mike Redd is not a "max-contract player" camp. Great scorer, but does absolutely NOTHING else even close to average. Everyone knows his defense is bad, but thats an understatement. He can make Ray Allen look like Pippen in his prime. I do like that he did add an "attacking the rim" mode to his arsenal though. Makes him much less one-dimensional. Trading the 6th for the 12th and 21st would be my worse case scenario. Two decent prospects instead of the chance to get one premier one at #6. Its quite a bit different from the NFL Value chart. In the NFL draft, there is a very small difference from the middle of the first round to the end of the second. After the lottery, its a pretty steep decline in talent.
  17. I just heard on ESPN's draft special that Yi will come to Milwaukee if he is drafted by them. He's not gonna turn down the chance to come to the NBA to go back to China. Good news in that I don't neccessarily want Harris to draft Yi, but it adds a lot of leverage in trade talks.
  18. I just saw a trade proposal on benmaller.com that while it hasn't been discussed between the two teams, it sure makes a lot of sense for both teams. Sign and Trade Mo Williams and the # 6 pick for the Hawks # 3 and # 11 pick. The Bucks would jump on that I would think.
  19. I wouldn't think the Bucks would be dumb enough to sign Vince. Why would they? So they can back in to the playoffs for the length of his contract? A player like Vince Carter will never lead a team to a championship, which is what he'd have to do in Milwaukee. It would bring guard-oriented offense to a new level. Bogut might as well not even post-up because he would never see the ball. With Redd and Carter, who else is getting any touches? What we need is a rebounder/shotblocker and a playmaking PG, and we should be able to find one of those needs through the draft. The Bucks aren't serious contenders until we can find both, which will probably take a year or two.
  20. -While I like the idea of signing Mo to be our sixth man to provide "instant offense", I think he will be too costly. Someone will throw a ridiculous contract his way, and I'm just hoping it's not the Bucks. -I think Horford has emerged as the clear cut # 3 player in the draft. I think it would probably take Villanueva and the 6th pick (where they would hope Conley falls) for the third. Starting Horford next to Bogut would be a great, young frontcourt combo. -We better resign ILyasova. He made solid strides last year and it would be stupid to let him walk after we gave him so many minutes last year. He's a good SF prospect and would have been a first-round pick if he would have entered the draft when he was 20/21 instead of 18. From what I've heard is that he has put on 25 pounds of muscle since the end of the season.
  21. Yeah Johnny Drama is gold. Whenever he talks about his days on 90210 it is too funny . I too think "Wally Balls" is the best reoccuring character, but this new guy Nick Rubenstein is great too. "Trust fund baby" as Walsh calls him.
  22. For a guy that claims to be one of the biggest NBA fans on the planet, Bill Simmons sure doesn't know much outside of his Boston and LA teams. If Mo Williams were starting in Boston that last couple years he would see that he is not a PG you want starting for a hopeful contender. The Bucks need defense and playmaking out of that position, not a trigger-happy SG disguised as a PG. While his off-season plan would guarantee us a playoff spot for the next five years, it would still end result in a first round exit every year. The problem is that point-guards that defend and pass well are rarely on the market. Two that might be available are Andre Miller (vet on young team) and Chris Duhon (I've heard the Bulls are trying to deal him). I'd be happy with either over Mo.
  23. Kind of off topic, but does anyone know what the Twins' plans are for Liriano? From what I've heard, they still figure he will be a starter once he comes back from his injury. I guess I just don't understand why Parra couldn't do the same once he gets to the Major Leagues.
  24. Judging by the previews, it looks like next week they are back to their normal episode format.
  25. I was also at Woodards first career start. I remember that he did pitch a good game but I was pretty young at the time so I didn't realize until now that he put up that good of a line. Memorable for me because I got to go down to the Brewers dugout and shake Gantner's hand and talk to him ( I think he was the 1st base coach). My uncle was a college and minor league teammate of Gantner and had not seen him since those days.
