  1. Another nice at bat from Kotsay. Not sure what made RR goes with him but it is looking good so far
  2. I am pretty sure he has an OPS of .630 since joining the Cards.
  3. Yep they are adding up to a 5 game lead in the division and being 17 games over .500 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But you are right there have been confusing moves throughout the year
  4. Disagree all you want. This board is acting like it is a fact Lawrie is a sure-fire all-star who will hit 30 HR. He could be but he had an unsustainable BABIP this year in the most hitter friendly league. He could be a 30 HR guy and he could be an all-star, but we dont know that he WILL be and his numbers outside of this year dont scream 30 HR guy. Yes he was younger than guys at each level so he could develop but I think people forget how often prospects flop or even struggle after initial strong showings
  5. I am not saying he cant become the huge power guy, just looking at his overall numbers and he was an .800 OPS guys and then one year in the most hitter friendly league in MILB he jumps to 1.000 so I am somewhat skeptical that he is now a big time power hitter
  6. Dont really think there was much wrong with the celebration. I think there are two factors that are making it worse than it was. 1. He is no longer a Brewer and 2. He was considered to be a punk by some even before he left. It wasnt one picture on Facebook that lead people to say that. I dont know the guy and have no idea what he is like. He did make his second error today. I have a tough time freaking out of over losing this guy when he will more than likely be a corner OFer and before this year his power number were nothing amazing. If he turns into Ryan Braun part two I will eat my words but i dont foresee that happening.
  7. This is the exact same time frame as that series. They "celebrated" the Phillips-Molina-Bench-Clearing brawl anniversary the other day. The huge difference in these series is if the Brewers win they be up 6 games and the when the Cards swept the Reds they went up 1 game.
  8. Something tells me Lawrie wont sustain his .455 BABIP but maybe he is great at finding holes.
  9. Lawrie is/was a top prospect. Rivas is nothing special. Thornburg did not have a ton of value last off-season as most people thought he was a future reliever. Gamel is solid but is much older than Lawrie and is not nearly the same prospect. I cant imagine those packages getting a pitcher of Marcum's quality.
  10. Oddly enough when coaches or managers yell at officials or umps they seem to change to favor the coaches that yell at them. It is one of the most annoying things in sports. I watch a coach like Tom Izzo whine and yell at officials and then they start to give his team calls. If I was the official I would be more likely to make calls against him, but that is not how it usually goes. The ump will probably be more anxious to make the wrong call against the Cards because he knows he messed up yesterday
  11. I agree for the most part. Regretting the move really depends on how we do this year. If we win or make the World Series I wont regret it one bit. If we make it to the NLCS I will be fine with it but still be disappointed if Lawrie turns out to be stud. If we dont make the playoffs or make it and go out with a whimper than I will regret it. But that also depends on what happens with Marcum in the future. If we lock him up and he continues to pitch like this for 5 years I wont care one bit how Lawrie does, if we have to trade him next year because we are out of it and next solid prospects that could be good, and if we let him walk in FA and actually hit with the draft picks than great. Lots of variables for me to regret the move. Another one being does Lawrie look like Jason Heyward in year two or Ryan Braun?
  12. Okay complete games are nice but this game is a huge. The move worked out, how can you hate it
  13. Okay some may not like it but that all worked perfectly
  14. Unless they are bunting Wilson and George cant bunt...only thing i can think of
  15. Wolf has not asked the defense to do much but they have been night and day from game 1 of the series
  16. Since the bottom of the third this has been a clinic on how to pitch to contact by both guys. Not a ton of K's but very few hard hit balls
  17. There are five pages in this thread compared to 27 last night.
  18. Lets get one more with the heart of the order coming up.
  19. Wolf's pitch count is really low and he should be left in until he gets in a little trouble. He has St. Louis really off balance
  20. I love the lineup St. Louis has out there tonight! Tony should hold out Berkman again tomorrow and Holliday should sit again.
  21. Pretty uneventful last few innings. I would love for the rest of the game to be this uneventful
  22. Step up from last night but still disappointing. Yuni goes up there hacking with a pitcher who cant throw strikes
  23. Westbrook is really off tonight. The Crew has to make him pay for his inaccuracy. Lets force him to throw strikes
