  1. Is that sarcasm? I cant see the game tonight. Gameday said he flied out sharply
  2. DeRosa is in Cleveland's starting lineup
  3. I dont see why the Indians would look for Hardy seeing as they have Jhonny Peralta and Asdrubal Cabrera. Both can and have played SS this year.
  4. Bedard makes us better definitely, not probably. He is a better pitcher now than Manny. The trade may not make us better in the future but if it did happen it would make us better right now.
  5. Hardy has a BAbip in play of .243. Bill Hall is at .302. Corey hart is at .286. That to me means that Bill Hall's terrible start really is where he should be. He is not getting unlucky. Hart is maybe a little unlucky since his career line is .304 but he really is not that unlucky. Hardy on the other hand is getting unlucky. Those numbers and the eye test tell me Hardy is hitting the ball right at people right now. Once he starts finding holes at a normal pace his average will start to jump.
  6. Prince and Braun are the only guys I dont expect to get out when they come up right now. This is pretty frustrating.
  7. Who are going to be the hardest signs of the first 30? Last year the Brewers signed everyone before round 23. Marcus Knecht did not sign. They also did not sign 27,28, or 29.
  8. I think these are right but someone can correct me if I am wrong.
  9. It is crazy to look at the ERA's of the four pitchers used by Brevard in the second game. Rogers and Braddock are both at 0.96. Wooten has a 1.05 and Axford has the worst of the four with a 1.63 ERA. That is crazy.
  10. Have we taken any Canada kids yet? Seems like an area we have scouted well recently.
  11. Tyler Cravy Napa Valley College. He is a RHP and put up good number. 2.99 ERA with 110 K's in 90 IP. His WHIP was right around 1. He is also good with the stick batting .335. Here is the team's stats.
  12. That ties his longest outing to date if I am not mistaken. With only facing 9 batters and only one walk and two K's his pitch count should be very low. Looks like Braddock is coming in to follow him up. Nice work today Mark.
  13. Not the most glowing report from BA He was one of the 3 players who hurt their stock at an All-Star tourney if Florida. "Like you may expect from a kid with the nickname "Scooter"-his real first name is Ryan-Gennett is an undersized middle infielder. Listed at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, he's a gritty, grinder type that always has a dirty uniform. He has talent, but sometimes tries to be too flashy or do too much at the plate. His swing is long and slow with wood and he struggled to get balls out of the infield during the event's batting practice session. "He's a fantastic high school player," the AL scout said. "I think he's going to be a very good college player, but he's probably better off going to school. He has a ways to go with the bat and in our game he probably lacks the size and range to go out there and project as a major league shortstop. He's probably more of a second baseman or a utility guy and going to college might do him some good. He needs some time, he's not ready. Good pitching will own this kid and when that happens early, sometimes you lose them mentally forever."" He is committed to Florida State so it should be interesting to see if he signs.
  14. So Jimmy Rollins is not an All-Star SS since his numbers are awful this year. They are much worse than Hardy's. We know Hardy is a streaky hitter, but guess what, so is Escobar. He has been extremely hot recently and his numbers have jumped. Hardy will heat up and Alcides will slow down. That is the nature of the game.
  15. Rogers with a very nice first. 2 k's. He did walked a guy but the catcher picked him off first. He will need to get his walks down but it has been an encouraging start to the year nonetheless. I am very excited to see him when they decide to stretch him out a bit. His next inning went 1-2-3 with 2 ground outs and a fly out. With to relatively quick innings, facing the minimum batters I wonder if he will get a third inning
  16. You are right battlekow. He sounds very signable and almost happy to go where he did. If he signs without a problem this was a great first day in my mind, but I do not really follow these guys and am basing that off other people's reports.
  17. John Sickels on Josh Prince. Josh Prince, SS, Tulane Hitting .363/.481/.534 with 30 steals in 35 attempts, Prince has overcome injuries and a subpar 2008 to re-emerge as an interesting prospect this year. He was very successful as a freshman at the University of Texas in '07, before transferring to Tulane. Very reliable defensively, he has been projected as a pick in the fourth to sixth round range, but if his bonus demands are reasonable he could go higher than expected due to his speed, defense, and decent strike zone judgment.
  18. I messed up earlier in this post. He batted .236 in 2008. This year he hit .361 with .481 OBP and Slugged .534 . This is from a John Sickels article about the most interesting college hitters in the draft.Josh Prince, SS, Tulane Hitting .363/.481/.534 with 30 steals in 35 attempts, Prince has overcome injuries and a subpar 2008 to re-emerge as an interesting prospect this year. 19. Prince went to Texas before Tulane last year and batted .371 as a freshman. He struggled last year with Tulane hitting just .236 Edit - Apparently the average I found in his bio are much different than the ones showing he hit .353 last year
  20. Walla was mentioned early. I like the way they talk about his power.
  21. Rough end of the night for Jeffress with two unearned runs coming in the the 7th. Still had a nice night. Boring day if you were in the Brevard bullpen. Both starters went 7 today.
  22. He was very good as a freshman, then he was the best hitter for Team USA over the summer, then had a dud of a sophmore year. Here comes Heckathorn or Kraus. I tip my hat to you! Two pick two of three picks in the MLB draft is impressive. I really like the look of Keckathorn
  23. Davidson is gone. Who are some of the favorites to go to the Brewers here?
  24. 6 innings one hit, 7 Ks and 2 walks for Jeffress. If he keeps these great starts up I wonder how long tell he goes back to AA.
