  1. That is some interesting analysis. Kodi's previous 17 IP had 14 ks and just 2 walks but if Crew is right he could have been facing mostly poor disciplined teams.
  2. In FA no. This team just isnt ready yet In a trade of Lucroy sure maybe get a potential number 1.
  3. I'm a fan of One Drive for the volume of pictures I have. They gave me 30 gigs for free. I'm not sure if they offer this to Mac users...but I'm guessing there has to be a way. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2686566/how-to-double-your-free-onedrive-storage-to-30gb.html I second One Drive. Seemlessly upload photos as they are taken or once WiFi is established. I have all my photos there and with the app I can access them very easily.
  4. No, they weren't, you're welcome to believe that was the case but it simply wasn't true as the Cards blew the Crew away in the NLCS and it wasn't a close series. The run differential was horrendous for a 6 game series. Bad luck? Hardly. Are you serious? If you make the NLCS and bring it to 6 games you definitely have a World Series caliber team. You are taking one series to say a team wasnt close to being a world series team. So if a team loses the world series in say 5 games they werent close to being a World Series championship caliber team? Talk about small sample size
  5. It's criminal how little was accomplished with that much talent. Disagree. Gallardo is the only front line pitcher on that list, and he was always more of a 2 or 3 than an elite ace type guy. It is criminal that the Brewers have failed to produce an ace level pitcher since the injury plagued Ben Sheets in the late 90/early 2000's. They had tons of top picks in the 00-07 range and failed to grab a future ace. Instead, they were forced to make the Greinke and Marcum trades because of the pitching problems. I agree with everything except being forced to make the Marcum trade. That was a move they forced in my mind. Apart from that though you are spot on. Jack Z was loved and adored but he simply did not provide major league pitching to go with the bats. Pitching costs a ton of money to get or a ton of prospects. Melvin, Jack Z, our managers, and bad luck share the blame for that grouping not producing a World Series
  6. Jungmann and Nelson have given me a lot more hope for the rotation going forward. Peralta needs to figure stuff out. We are by no means set for the future but we have some nice pieces
  7. Hader has been alright through 5. 9 ks, 1 hit, 1 walk, and 0 er. Philips with a triple and a walk so far.
  8. Does anybody have a scouting report or able to speak to his velocity? High 80s low 90s type. 3 pitches that he seems to throw well. http://baltimoresportsandlife.com/zach-davies-game-scouting-report/
  9. I think the link should work. Nice article on him from the futures game. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-davies-futures-game-0712-20150711-story.html
  10. Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread but Davies seems like Fiers with a little more upside. Not a well known prospect who has been very good at each start. He is 8 years younger than Fiers amd is controlled for 6 years. If he even hits Fiers level this is a win
  11. Sounds like a done deal. Can't link reports but mlbtraderumors said it is a done deal. Parra for Davies
  12. Honestly I do think there is anything wrong with Davies for Parra. Probably a fair return. I just wanted one more prospect
  13. Was hoping for one more prospect to be added but getting a borderline top 100 pitcher is nice. Still need to get a young ace but that won't happen unless we deal lucroy
  14. All star level players this season who were brewers prospects - Cain, Fielder, Braun, Brantley, Gallardo, Escobar, Lucroy and others like Odorizzi, Lawrie, Hardy who are every day players or starting pitchers. I am probably missing a few. A farm system is not good right now but it has not been bad in terms of producing talent. Just short on starting pitching An IF of Lucroy, Fielder, Lawrie, Escobar, and Hardy with an OF of Braun, Cain and Brantley is pretty impressive. Gallardo, Odorizzi, Fiers, Estrada (not sure he counts) and Peralta with Jungmann and Nelson isn't impressive but is serviceable.
  15. Keith Law doesnt like the Brewers prospects. There is a first
  16. It is weird to see the Brewers make a trade and have the board almost in unanimous agreement that it was a good trade. I was good with last night's trade that wasnt but I like this deal a lot more. With Phillips joining Arcia we could have two top 20 prospects by the end of the year. Hader was #67 in Sickels mid-season ranking and Santana was #71 before the start of the year. That is 3 guys in the top 75 to go with some exciting other guys the Brewers have. Would love to add at least one more pitcher who is top 100ish but overall the farm system is looking up.
  17. If I am not mistaken Haniger looks like a 4th OF at best at this point. Anthony Banda the other guy in the deal might have the better shot to have an impact
  18. No it really doesnt. Other teams are not stupid. If they want Gomez they are not going to let a pr stunt keep them from going after him. It only diminishes his value to the general sports fans. GMs may try to use it as leverage but if more than one team is involved that leverage gets tossed out the window
  19. Yeah, they wanted the Brewers to eat some of Gomez's contract and/or take Lagares back (who's owed some $$) instead of Flores. That's probably where the rumors of Melvin wanting one of the "Big Four" came from, I would guess. Melvin said the MRI the Mets looked at weren't even up of his hip. So ultimately they realized what their budget for OF was going to look like in '16 and pulled some crap about having a medical issue. Which is a crappy way to get out of an agreed-upon deal, but also it poisons the perceived value of Gomez. The Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla and they are asking the Brewers to pay some of a bargain contract for Gomez? Thanks but no thanks
  20. A year a half of Gomez leading us to under .500 ball and a hit or miss pick is better than a pitcher that would automatically be or best pitcher and a hitter who is 23 and was a top 80 prospect most of his time in the minors. That makes no sense. The draft pick wod be lucky to turn into flores.
  21. I am confused by the comparison of Wheeler to Fiers. Wheeler has had an ERA of 3.4 and 3.5 both seasons as a 23 and 24 year old. Fiers has a 3.9 ERA as a 30 year old. Wheeler was a top 15 prospect before getting to the majors and Fiers never was a top prospect. Wheeler is coming off an injury but his upside is the highest of any pitcher on this staff. Where are the similarities? Flores looks a lot better when I see his minor league stats. He was rushed into the majors but has been consistently in the top 100 prospect range.
  22. I am sorry but that is crazy. Lee was traded for guys who had been majors for a while including a closer. Mench was 28, Cordero was 31, and Nix was 25. The Brewers just traded for two guys who are young and under control for the foreseeable future. The Brewers also threw in Cruz in that deal. These deals have zero similarity
  23. In 2012 Wheeler was the number 11 prospect. He got to majors young and has been solid with an Era of 3.5 and about a strikeout per inning. Needs to get his walks down but people are acting like he is a low upside guy. He is not. I wanted a young prospect with these two so j am not overwhelmed by the trade but it is solid
  24. I wanted another prospect but there is so.e serious under valuing of wheeler here.
  25. Weird that flores is still playing for the mets
