  1. Is there a statistical out there to see how many more wins we would have with a league average bullpen? I am just interested what our record could be with a decent bullpen
  2. This is fun! Although with Wolf starting and our bullpen I think we need double digits to win
  3. Peralta with a great night. 7 IP, 5 H, 6 K, 0 ER and maybe more importantly ZERO walks
  4. To be clear, I said I thought IF Braun used it was to overcome an injury. I actually do not think he used
  5. I have said all along if Braun used steroids it likely something that happened infrequently and was used to overcome injury. There is little reason to believe he used for a long time
  6. Seems like an act of desperation, but considering they just found out that Tulo is out for a couple more months they should be desperate. Tough loss for them there.
  7. Tulo is hurt again. He will probably miss most of this year. This will be his third season of missing 40 or more games. I am taking Braun over him. Votto is the only guy I would take over Braun and even that is hard because of Votto's deal
  8. Since this thread is about being obnoxious and over the top, let's dream big: what happens if Braun wins the Triple Crown? Geez I'd love him to put the writers in a bind like that after they way they shabbily reported info over the winter. Leads in Home Runs. 2nd in RBIs, but 8th in BA. But we can dream right! I actually think he has a good shot to win the first two.
  9. Not to mention his numbers this year point to some luck. In 33 IP he has walked 21 guys and given up 26 hits. His ERA should be higher with those numbers. Carlos's last two years with us and peripherals suggest he is Manny Parra
  10. If Braun keeps up at this pace and misses the same amount of time the second half as he has missed the first he will hit 47 home runs, have 120 RBI's, and steal 28 bases. His OBP is sitting at .400 now. He is on pace to be better in almost every area compared to last year. I know some thought he might press after the out field stuff, but he has been ridiculous this year. I shudder to think where we would be without Braun. (I also shudder to think where we would be with a good bullpen but that is for a different thread)
  11. Yep, extensions to closers is never a good idea. Trade them to people who overvalue closers
  12. I get a little extra joy seeing Lawrie strike out late in both games so far. He has been really good but those two at bats were nice
  13. I take back everything I said about Lawrie if he decides to save his rediscovered power for the next series he plays
  14. Ugh should have known Lawrie's power would resurface this series
  15. Braun is now 4th in NL OF voting. Melky Cabrera jumped in front of him. http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2012/06/19/braun-falls-out-of-all-star-starting-lineup/
  16. Blind speculation of course but I just don't get the impression that Braun would have told them anything very specific. Lucroy made some sort of comment about how if we knew what he did we would believe Braun
  17. His bat had to heat up since his OPS was under .700 for a while. His bat is nowhere near Braun's even after his hot streak. Plus defense doesnt make for a .300 point different in OPS. His bat could turn into something special but last year was the first year he put up out-of-this-world numbers. People are not making excuses to diminish him. They are looking at reality. His batting numbers are average. His base-running is poor, and he has made a few errors so the WAR seems out of line. He is going to be a very good player but he is nowhere what his WAR says.
  18. Makes no sense. An OPS of .729. Only 8 of 16 on steals. Sure his defense is solid but it hasnt been amazing
  19. Here an article from today with some quotes by Braun.http://sports.yahoo.com/news/braun-never-going-away-know-173015326--mlb.html Braun statements stay very strong and very consistent.
  20. What about Carlos Gonzalez? Look at his home/road splits compared to Brauny and Votto. His numbers are solid on the road but Votto and Braun have All-Star road numbers as well as home numbers. Crazy stat. Votto's BABIP is .432! That is .100 points higher than Braun's. Votto sports a career BABIP of .359. That shows to me he hits the ball hard.
  21. Great play by Escobar, but holy cow is Molina slow. I think Gomez would have been part way to second on that
