    Let me tell you what cheeses me off. The team just seemed to self-destruct since Fielder got plunked. Yost and McClung screw up. The team tanks it the next day. They suck tonight. I would not be surprised if they don't finish over .500 at all. That's what I get for thinking they could pull it off at the beginning of the week. I'm so stupid. On the other hand, it was a good year to get excited for awhile.

    I was talking to one of my buddies who teaches in South Milwaukee. He said nobody heard of "Talk Like a Pirate" day. I'll be if they had a "Talk Like a Gangsta Day", everybody would be talking like a gangsta. Wait... don't they do that already?

    I first heard about while I was on my way to a training course to learn about .NET programming. During the breaks, we would run into the hotel bar area where there were TVs. One time we came out and the people were trying to decide of one or both of the towers had collapsed. They couldn't believe it and I said, "I'm telling you the two towers were right there!"

    I'm claustrophobic. The idea of being stuck in a closed in area without being to move scares the poop out of me. I think it might be more of my arms not being able to move. Give me my elbow room, and I'm good go to. I'm also afraid of heights. When I was younger, I would go with my Dad to the state wrestling tournament in Madison at the Fieldhouse (he was a head wrestling coach). I would be in the upper deck looking at the rafters and say, "What would happen if you got stuck up there." It didn't help when I was working as a carpenter and had to carry roof truss walking on a 2x6 on a two-story hotel.

    Aren't very long sentences common in the Hebrew language? Maybe I'm getting it mixed up with Greek. If it is the former, then perhaps he is putting in a subtle rip on "Hebrew." In any case, I appreciate how he is using his medium to promote the local boy. If Braun played half of his games in Colorado, he would probably be hitting 30 points higher and have many more homers and RBI. Yawn...

    I got a little annoyed with the poor attempts at Caddyshack humor. It might have been funny the first 10 times they referred to the squirrels as rodents / gophers (not golfers).

    I started out with a job as a dishwasher at a restaurant that doesn't exist anymore. That allowed me to get a job as a dishwasher at a golf course / restaurant. I got to play a lot of free golf as a result. While that was a dirty, stinky job, the toughest one had to be working as a farm hand. I mostly threw hay bales and cleaned up the pens for the pigs, cows, etc. You got used to the smell... really. Now I'm a software engineer thankful that I am not a dishwasher or a farm hand.

    It seems almost like it is a lose / lose here. Right now the fans are miffed off at Yost for making bonehead decisions (less those who still on cloud nine). So what happens? 1. Yost keeps going as status quo and people jump on his case; 2. Yost says something like, "Perhaps I should have done X instead of Y." The fans jump on him saying, "See? He admitted it! He admits he makes bad decisions!" IMHO, bringing Aquino in yesterday was just plain wrong -- even if he would have pitched out of it. Yet, I need to give Ned some slack. What should he do when Cordero blows a save? If he pitches Cordero 4 days in a row, then it is a bad decision. If Cordero blows a save after being rested, that isn't Ned's fault. How about Turnbow, Linebrink, or McClung? How much control does Ned have over them choking? I think there is enough blame to go around. Yost seems to be an easy target because when he makes bad decisions, they really stand out. Perhaps this exercise is doing nothing more than exposing a HUGE weakness -- the bullpen. That's Doug's job to get the horses in the pen.

    Last year, Cappy was lights out in the first half, but didn't pitch well in the second half. I was willing to give him a chance this year. He didn't do well, so IMHO, they should take him out of the rotation (which they have). My feeling is the same about Bill Hall. He isn't doing well this year and, as some have mentioned, probably should not be treated as an every AB player. However, I'm not going to give up on him, yet. If he isn't doing well at the All-star break next year, trade him.

    I know there has been talk about Carl Crawford before. Could you bring him in with a trade and then sign him at maybe 5 years / $50 million?

    Does that mean they are underperforming? Does that mean they suck 40% more than the Brewers? Does that mean that Stone is 100% a dork? Perhaps Yost is a better manager getting more out of his team than Pinella is getting out of his team. I don't see how you can quantify that. You can have all the talent in the world. You still have to win the games on the field.

    If it is the Cubs who are upset then... DUH! What did you think Uecker was going to sing? If it is the Brewer players who are upset, then stop your whining. If they are making excuses like that, then perhaps they aren't as mature as I thought. They can look right in the clubhouse for their woes... you know... that mirror that is in there.
