  1. Which is MUCH better than playing the Phillies in the first round, so go Cards! I was disappointed in all the fans rooting against the Cards on Friday. It was a short-sighted motivation. The Crew wasn't going to lose 5 straight at home against the likes of the Marlins and Pirates. It's hard for me to imagine a more brutal sports scenario than the Brewers losing to the Cardinals in the playoffs. It would be much worse than the Packers losing to the Bears/Vikings/Cowboys in the NFC Championship game if you ask me. It's probably rational to want the Cards in the playoffs to avoid the Phils in the first round, but I couldn't stomach potentially facing them in the NLCS.
  2. And I just won a million dollars because I bet that Bonifacio and Donnie Murphy would hit home runs today.
  3. I guess he doesn't want to start him over Hart yet again consider how solid he's been, and you're obviously not going to bench Braun or Fielder for Kotsay if they're healthy. Can't we just have a designated fielder?
  4. The Brewers have had two of the last nine days off. They'll have this upcoming Thursday and Friday off before the playoffs start. Is there one legitimate reason Kotsay should be starting in centerfield? If Roenicke doesn't care who the team plays in the first round, he might as well bench his superstars too.
  5. Kotsay's a big enough butcher in a corner spot as it is. It's maddening that RR apparently thinks there's nothing left to play for. Why rest guys now, when you'll have two consecutive off days starting Thursday? Unless Morgan AND Gomez are banged up or something, it's just stupid.
  6. I kind of miss the "Whose the Band" threads from a few years ago. Someone should start up another installment of that.
  7. He also thinks that having McGehee, Betancourt, and Gomez vs. a righty shows that the Brewers aren't showing any signs of "letting up."

  9. Why does Hart sit so much compared to the other starters?

  11. I agree with the bolded part, P&R is funnier than that. Still though, any episode with a Perd Hapley interview is going to be at least pretty good: "There you have it…where it is the thing Leslie Knope just said…about this situation."
  12. Gallardo has 34 strikeouts in his last 19 innings. Is this high school?
  13. For as ugly as he can look in left field, he makes some incredible athletic plays from time to time. What a throw just popping up like that, too.
  14. So is this a one time thing or maybe more of a permanent change if Hairston does well (ie goes 2-4 or something.) At least now we can't say it's been more than a month since Yuni didn't start a game.
  15. I don't care what the situation is, Votto has become my most feared hitter as a Brewer fan. Even ahead of Pujols.
  16. FYI, Jerry Hairston Jr has gone hitless since September 3rd. It is now September 17th. Yet, somehow he is our savior/"hottest" hitter. I'd love to see one post where someone called him either the Brewers savior or the team's hottest hitter.
  17. Minnesota's been awful this year cause of a ridiculous amount of injuries to their best players. If they're relatively healthy next year, they won't be nearly as bad. Still though, KC-Minnesota-Chicago is infinitely better than Bos-NYY-TB.
  18. I'm sure pretty much anyone would agree to bring Axford back out for the 10th if his spot doesn't come up, but I can't think of one time he's done it this year. It's maddening.
  19. Well, I guess Hairston-McGehee-Betancourt in the 9th isn't too different from McGehee-Betancourt-Lucroy. SB attempt was at least worth a shot there.
  20. Always nice to see Morgan work a walk, doesn't happen all that often. Come on guys, how about a big hit.
  21. I feel like bringing Green in sooner would be better. There's really no reason for Colorado to pitch to Rickie unless they absolutely have to, and maybe they'd throw strikes to Green.
  22. I've learned to pause the game whenever Betancourt comes up to bat, wait a couple minutes, then hit "live." If something good happens, I'll go back and watch, but in the (very realistic) chance that he makes an out, I figure I'll save my blood pressure level by not physically watching his at bat. I recommend it.
