  1. Those right field bleachers were about 6% full at best.

  4. Unless Carpenter said something as the pitch was heading home, I'm 99% sure Morgan had the first words. He's clearly aware of the Brewers huge division lead as he mentioned it three times in that post-game interview, all he has to do is not say anything. Just walk to the dugout. I know it's nice when players show fire and all of that, but there's no need to start trash talking when there's two outs left in what's essentially a meaningless game (yeah I know they lost 5 of 6 to them yada yada).
  5. Carpenter struck out Morgan after a long at bat. As he was walking back to the dugout he was saying something to Carpenter and threw his chew onto the field. Pujols jogged over towards Morgan and Morgan let out a clear loud naughty word that can't be typed. Benches clear, nothing happens. Bill Schroeder blames it on Albert Pujols.
  6. Ah yes, there's the Nyjer Morgan from previous years. What are you doing man.
  7. I took the original statement to mean the batters that come after Braun and Fielder in the lineup. I wonder how many teams in baseball have their two worst regular hitters 5-6 in the order?
  8. Wow, I had no idea until I read your post. Now I'll be able to see what happened in the world of baseball without hearing "Name that Molina!" 5 times a night. Great news.
  9. IMO, Morgan definitely does that own his own. However, Roenicke clearly doesn't say anything to make him stop doing it, which is just as frustrating as Morgan thinking it's a good idea in the first place.
  10. I don't think too many voters will give him a first place vote due to him being on a .500 team. Plus, he wasn't as good in the first half of the season which a lot of people will remember since the Reds struggled a bit.
  11. Don't you think she'd at least preface it by saying that about the battery before she took your temp...?
  12. Clearly an EXTREME long shot, but the Brewers could technically tie for the best home record in the Modern Era. They'd just have to win their remaining 15 home games http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif. But really though, I still think the last series or two will sell really well. It will be a lot of people's last chances to see the team as playoff tickets will be hard to come by, plus it would be cool to say you saw the Brewers 60th home win, should that be a possibility. 52008Thursday, Jul 31 CHC 45,346 IIRC, that was game 4 of the 4 game sweep by the Cubs that year. Leaving the stadium that day was one of my least favorite days ever.
  13. I can't wait until Gomez is back and then Josh Wilson can stop playing.

  15. I think I'd feel more confident in him continuing his turnaround if his power numbers weren't so inflated by his 3 home run game. I know cherry picking stats can be silly and unfair to players, but without that game his slugging would be something like .390, and his OPS around .730.
  16. I'm sure Bill dumbs it down a little, but I really don't think that's always the case. A couple years ago, one of the text to the booth questions was, "What's the WHIP stat, and what's a good number for it?" Bill's answer was "Somewhere between 1 and 1.5." We're not talking about some crazy advanced sabermetric stat here, I don't think it's that hard to come up with a number. That's like saying a good batting average is somewhere between .230 and .330. Back on topic, I actually give announcers a lot of credit for limiting their criticism. Obviously some of these guys are huge fans of the team, it would be pretty hard for me to not get worked up about crappy players.
  17. Even if Greinke gets to your hypothetical numbers, he still wouldn't deserve it over Halladay. Regardless of what stats you use, there's Roy Halladay, and then there's every other pitcher in the National League.
  18. Oh man, that's too good. I'll have to try that some time. They really have been aggressive the last couple years. I admit if you say no and move on they won't bug you, but if you show ANY interest at all, they'll hound you. After talking to a guy for about 30 seconds last year, we passed and continued walking to the ticket window. This guy must've been 50, and literally jogged after us, telling us what a great deal we could get in a whiny tone. I've seen him there a few times this year too, and want to tell everyone I know to not buy from him.
  19. Morgan's walk rate is lower than Betancourt's, and that was before both of Yuni B's 4 pitch walks the past few games. I thought about posting that in the Plush-isms thread, but didn't really want to be a negative Nancy and ruin the fun-naturedness of that thread. It's not like he's always been this impatient.
  20. If giving up a homer to TGJ isn't a sign of fatigue, I don't know what is. Glad he got Blake because I feel like he could've been pulled there. Ah well.
  21. I don't really get why people would want the team to clinch anywhere besides Miller Park, especially Wrigley. The Cubs are completely irrelevant this year, I'd much rather the home crowd be able to enjoy the celebration than a much smaller amount of Brewer fans in a different city.
  22. While Eovaldi's minor league numbers aren't bad at all for his age, they don't scream, "Hey call me up at the age of 21!" Aaron Miles batting fifth for the Dodgers tonight? Yeesh.
