  1. I still can't believe that Lance Berkman pop-up was a homerun, ugh. Anyway we're playing on the same field so I'd hope we could hit a few more home runs the next couple days. Apparently Backe walks a lot of guys too, be patient!
  2. When it comes to potentially "racist" mascots and whatnot I'm usually in the camp that feels they shouldn't have to change (The Fighting Illini, Marquette Warriors, etc.) However, the Indians logo is flat out ridiculous. That has to be the most stereotypical logo in all of sports, I can't believe it hasn't changed yet. I personally think the Giants and Dodgers's logos are quite boring, but they've both been around since 1958 so I doubt they'll change anytime soon.
  3. I highly doubt Reed Johnson was attempting to take out their knees. It's a freak accident and that's all there is to it. In the 9th yesterday Weeks made an awkward slide at Soto's knees at homeplate, I doubt he though "Let's tear some ACL!"
  4. Aren't Gallardo/Villanueva/Parra all pretty good buddies? Maybe this will somehow light a fire under the other two's butts and they'll be able to consistently pitch 6+ innings. Yes I realize that's highly unlikely but there has to be some sort of silver lining http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  5. I'm guessing MickeyDavis was being sarcastic? Wow. This is just absolutely disgusting. I know the season isn't close to over or anything but there's such a huge drop from Gallardo down to Suppan. That and if Sheets gets injured again I can't believe Weaver is next in like. If Sheets ever needed a season to not get hurt this would be it. Argh what a way to ruin the start of the weekend.
  6. Monday http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. Even if it's only 37 at bats, I'm surprised to see Bill Hall hits so well against such a solid right hander. If Villaneuva can limit his walks I'll feel pretty confident about this game. Hopefully their winning ways on the road will continue and they can take this series!
  7. Kelvin Sampson set to sign as an assistant. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3378617
  8. The lack of moderators at NSBB (or so it would seem) can be annoying. There are also more personal attacks on opposing players over there. I'd bet that there's at least 50 people per IGT calling Prince a "fat ass" every game they play the Brewers. But other than the quoting 138 people and signatures of pics that are larger than my monitor, there are some good posters there. I'd argue they're more "the sky is falling" than BF though. The reason is because it's pretty representative of their entire fanbase. There are some great knowledgable baseball fans, but there's also the morons who are probably the ones in a drunken stupor in the bleachers who throw crap on the field.
  9. You honestly don't understand why people feel sorry for him? It's not like he tries to do bad. I tried not to boo him last year at games where he collapsed, I mean it's not like he didn't know he was sucking. It seems pretty harsh to not at least feel bad for him. I'm sure glad he won't be on the major league team anymore but that doesn't mean you can't root for him.
  10. I thought sending Rickie Weeks in the 9th was incredibly stupid. You should never ever pass up the opportunity to have Prince up with one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd. If they walk Prince you have the fastest guy up so it should be somewhat hard to GIDP.
  11. 6-6 at home and 9-8 on the road for a 15-14 month. Dodgers and Braves are pretty good teams, and the Cardinals seem to own the Brewers, which is why I think they'll only split at home overall.
  12. Team quality and tradition seem to be a little bogus when measuring ballparks. PNC is absoultely a great park and much better than Miller Park, I don't care how bad they are. I also highly doubt Camden Yards is only the 14th best MLB park.
  13. Afeter, nsbb.com will bring you there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif. By the way I never post anything over there, it's just funny to see Cubs fans react to a heartbreaking loss http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. I still can't believe how giddy I am. Maybe the momentum will carry into my intramural softball playoff game!
  14. Worst 3rd base coach decision all year. Wow.
  15. There's going to be 2 walks in this game with this zone. You can't expect the Brewers to be patient at all.
  16. Actually I'm 20, so if anything it would be the opposite http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif And Craig Counsell takes 5 balls that at bat. This could get real frustrating if Yo doesn't get those same calls.
  17. Does anyone have any idea how old Trenni is? It's not a big deal but I couldn't find it anywhere, me and a couple friends had a friendly bet on it.
  18. So which infielder will get the day off tomorrow in favor of Counsell? My guess is Hardy.
  19. It's true. Heck, even after the first inning it's kind of nice knowing "Well if we win it'll seem like a luxury at this point." Unfortunately I stopped watching after the 6th inning so I missed Turnbows 8(!!) baserunners in less than one inning of work. I'd greatly appreciate a Joe Dillon sighting with the Major League team again.
  20. Has anyone ever sat in the Home Run Porch in left field? I've never been there but hopefully my girlfriend and I will be going to the Saturday night game so I'm wondering how they are. It goes from $20 to $25 cause it's a "premium game" or whatever they call it, then a few bucks for the convenience charge so I just want to make sure they don't stink or anything. Jazzytrav, http://twins.mlb.com/min/ballpark/index.jsp. Looks like it should be pretty nice.
  21. The team I hate the most in all of professional sports put up 19 runs. That, and I didn't start Soto and his 2 homers and 6 RBIs. What a good night.
  22. I saw some of Billy Madison the other day, and now "Telephone Line" has been stuck in my head ever since because I saw the part with Steve Buscemi. Why isn't Cheap Seats out on DVD? I know for sure I'd buy it. I'd imagine it would sell decently.
  23. I don't see why Weeks and Hardy, and Hall for that matter, need to have a day off every week. Unless they're clearly fatigued or struggling mightily, Counsell should not be starting any games. I can see if Weeks or Hardy need a game off every other week or something, but each of them once a week is a little ridiculous.
