  1. Thanks for posting that, that's some interesting stuff to look at. It can be ungodly frustrating watching Braun bat. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like he'll swing when they're high out of the zone or low out of the zone, but not necessarily inside or outside. Can anyone else comment on that or am I just imagining thinigs?

  3. Man, Dempster averages more than one walk for every two innings throughout his career. Somehow I have a feeling that will lead to the following scenario: Top 1st: Rickie Weeks BB. Mike Cameron BB. Ryan Braun thinking "Oh my god runners on base! Must swing!" Either strikeout or groundout. Has he always had this awful of plate discipline? Didn't someone pick up on this in like high school and tell him to be more patient?
  4. http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper950/stills/3cd95c411f6f0-21-1.jpg http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/bay2la2003/nwa.jpg I've always thought Rickie Weeks looked kind of like an old-school Dr. Dre (upper left). Unfortunately most of the pictures of Dr. Dre are pretty recent so he looks considerably older, NWA pictures are all I could really find of older ones.
  5. Does Derrek Lee own every Brewers starter? And does anyone know if the ESPN telecast will be blacked out in Wisconsin again?
  6. I really thought his first at bat would be a home run, and it looks like he thought it too. It would be nice if he had a few more of these games this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Ugh. Back-to-back walks and Mr. OBP Fukudome up.
  8. Corey Hart is going to hit 2 home runs this series and start to show he has 30+ HR capability. Ryan Braun will walk three times in the series (yeah I said it) and the Brewers will take 2/3 again in Chi town.
  9. Holy cow. I know for the last few years the Packers have been right at the top but I don't remember the Brewers being that high at all. They must have been pretty high on everything but championships (and coaching http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif).
  10. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/autoreview/400x266/1992-98-Pontiac-Grand-Am-92129171990615.jpg That actually looks almost exactly what mine was like, except shinier. I even had the "rims" that looked like bike spokes. I got up to 90 once on the interstate and it started to shake, first and last time I did that.
  11. Elcaballo, I'm not really sure that Parra is a better major league pitcher right now. He simply has to be able to throw more than 5 innings at least somewhat often, which he hasn't been able to do in five starts. You can't really count on your bullpen giving you 4 strong innings every five days.
  12. I'm getting more than this many million per year?! Man he was my favorite non-Brewer for forever. It's pretty embarassing wearing his A's jersey around.
  13. Yeah, my first car four years ago was a 1992 Grand Am that I bought myself and was like $2,600 or something. It was pretty sick how many cars you saw in the school parking lot that were 2004 Impalas and things like that. I kind of doubt any high school kid could afford a $20,000 car. If I ever have kids there's no way I'm going to spoil them that much where I buy them a freakin' brand new car.
  14. "I think it is a serial killer, but not one individual. I would just say, a group of individuals, probably located in more than one state," Duarte said, adding that he thinks they may kill again. I'm sorry but that's pretty much a joke. I just dont get how it's always "Intelligent, well-liked, athletic" males, but they don't mention some of these guys are found with BACs of like .2 or .3 or something. I'm not stereotyping or anything but maybe some people that fit that category drink too much sometimes and happen to be at bars very close to open waters without much fencing around it? I obviously feel terrible for all of those who have drowned and their families, but I just think some of the familes can't accept that maybe their sons had too much to drink.
  15. Yeah, the people there can suck. I only sat in the (right field) bleachers once last year. It's a cool view and everything, but we were a row in front of about 15 drunk 30 and 40 year olds that were there on a work outing. Fortunately some of them left after the third inning and never came back, but nothing like hearing a 40 year old bald guy talk about how hot some of the girls around us were, who I swear to god were maybe 18 or 20 years old. My dad has a 9-game pack for the Loge outfield box in left field and I really like the seats. Not too expensive and you get a great view. You also have a better chance of not sitting by drunk morons, who seem to be more prevalent in the bleachers and the terrace reserved on Friday and Saturday nights.
  16. Ross, I like the Sesame Street ones, especially Shouse. I don't know if I'd ever spend money on a Brian Shouse T-shirt, but the back made me laugh http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif.
  17. Dave Bush could easily be a back-end rotation guy on at least a couple of Major League teams, I'm honestly almost baffled you don't think he could be on a major league team. And no, don't put him in the bullpen. McClung is far better at this point. Those 8.2 innings pitched by McCling this year really convinced you?
  18. I think a good example of why it will help came in the 9th inning today. Weeks was up with a guy on base and one out. The Marlins weren't going to give him much to hit because Gwynn was on deck and they realize he can't hit it further than 300 feet. If Cameron's in that position, the Marlins pitcher is more likely to go after Weeks, because he wouldn't want to face Cameron with two guys on base and one out. I realize situations like that won't arise too often, but on the whole he is a much better offensive player than either Gwynn or Kapler. We'll also have more than 3 pinch hitters, and hopefully 5 pretty soon.
  19. McClung pitched 7 2/3 innings before today, I'm sorry but you can't really formulate an opinion on him either way.
  20. No Mike Cameron, Ben Sheets missed a start, Bush/Parra/Villaneuva have each had one or two undesirable outings, certain relievers have been shaky, and the offense has been just bad for a few games. And somehow they're 14-11. I'm shocked.
  21. Okay that's fine, but booing an ex-player for not meeting your expectations seems unnecessary to me. If he bashes the city/teammates/organization or whatever then it's understandable, but I don't remember him doing that (He might have, I just don't know).
  22. My god, If they based this off Turnbow's one good outing this year, and McClung's two good outings, I'll be extremely frustrated.
  23. They'd rather option Bush than DFA Turnbow or McClung?
  24. I can't really disagree with him. I was at a Philly game last year when he was booed, and was pretty shocked. I can see if people were booing him for his out-of-shapeness, but sadly I'm guessing most of them were morons who thought "Omg he sucked when he was here LOL I'll boo!" I mean honestly did people have that high of expectations of him when he was in Milwaukee? That'd be like booing Tony Graffanino if he was with another team and visited Milwaukee.
  25. He did yesterday, though. I swear if he brings in a pitcher to bunt over a runner when there's one out I'll scream.
