New rule. Turnbow only pitches on the 23rd of April. Just kidding. Wow, thank you Derrick! I could feel my heart pounding the last five minutes so hopefully that goes down sometime soon. Cole Hamels pitches masterfully for 5 1/3 innings and gets a loss, what a shame.
Ugh...I'd just about kill for a double play here. I personally thought that was outside, what can you do. Edit: Where has that first pitch breaking ball strike been all year for T Bow?
Just curious, what effect does a pitcher warming up in the bullpen but not pitching in the game have on how tired he is? Gagne didn't pitch the other day but warmed up, so I'm wondering if it's close to as "intense" as pitching in an actual game?
Well Derrick you have Bruntlett-Pinch hitter-Werth and then Dobbs before you get to the big boys. PLEASE throw strikes to these guys before Utley/Howard/Burrell mash your face in.
Who says Gwynn can't draw walks? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Kendall, we could sure use some insurance here please. I'd like if Turnbow had more than a 1 run lead...
I know nothing of Mitch Stetter's minor league career, could he possibly go 3 innings? Or would that be a really bad idea. Just throwin' it out there...
Man if I'm a Phillies fan I'm a little upset at Manuel. Bringing Hamels in to start the inning with 110 pitches against the heart of the order seemed a little silly. I feel terrible for those world-class fans.
Even though it's still 1-2 I'm liking where this at bat is going. Fouling off some good pitches... Edit: No need to thank me http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
I'm kind of surprised Cole is back in after 110 pitches. Please get tired soon! This is making me think of one of my favorite games from last year with the Brewers comeback off Hamels last year. All we need to do is take the lead here and then have Hart rob a home run at the end of the game http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
It's nice not having to cringe seeing Jenk's facing a lefty. I'm not going to make excuses on what pitcher the Brewers face --- at least Hamels is a lefty. I'm not necessarily making excuses, but I'd be much more concerned with the Crews offense if they were in a slump against mostly back-end of the rotation guys. All I'm saying is it's sort of hard to expect the Brewers offense to get in a groove when every other night they're facing a very good pitcher
It's sure going to be nice when we're not facing teams' best pitchers every other game. Harang twice, Cueto twice, Zambrano, Santana, Hamels, Wainright twice. This is getting old. I want more Kevin Corriea's!
In Ned's defense, they've been in like 34 extra inning games the last two weeks. I definitely haven't always agreed with some of his bullpen decisions so far, but if you're going into 10 or 12 innings a few times in a week, it's going to take its toll regardless of who is managing.
I'm pretty sure he didn't pinch hit Bush because he didn't want to use his cashed bullpen. That's fine if you don't pinch hit for him, but then let him stay in for longer than ONE batter. In this instance I think the "bashing" is warranted.
Either that, or we're facing a top 5 or 10 NL pitcher, and he's making adjustments. Ugh I can see the Phillies smacking Dave around here this inning. Edit: Uh Ned, if the leash on Bush was that short why didn't you use a pinch hitter there?
Zing! Cubs currently up 3-0 in the fifth inning. I know they won't continue to play .700 ball but it would be nice if they lost a game or two in the near future.
But extra innings are the Brewers niche! They're 5-1 in extras, they must enjoy it! Why are people booing Bush batting, do they not understand the bullpen situation?
