  1. He'd sure fall down a lot in the batters box, considering he's half way to first when he finishes his swing. Actually I was at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game against the Snappers when Prince was in Beloit, and he fell over after a swing and a miss strike 3, it was pretty funny. I'd be very surprised if Prince doesn't hit at least 35-40 homers.
  2. How many of those are actually legit? I glanced at it for 10 seconds and saw "Kidney Tranplant" and a woman with "Breasr cancer".
  3. I'll definitely agree having a good defensive catcher can make a pitcher feel much more confident about blocking balls in the dirt and generally not having many passed balls. I still don't really buy into the "calls a good game" though. Not only that but when a catcher is thinking one step ahead of you, or making calls that make you say, wow great call, I'll go with that, it makes you so much better. I'm not trying to knock you or anything, but I would guess that there are few major league pitchers who think "Great call, I'll go with that" because I would assume they know their stuff better than the catcher does, so I can't imagine they have a mini-revelation too often.
  4. I'll agree with the avatar's. If TLB ever doesn't have a Star Wars one, I wouldn't know who's post I was reading. I almost feel like changing mine to a SW character to see if I can throw people off http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Wow. I was watching Weeds online when Memphis went up 9 with 2:13 left, next time I looked they were up 2. Kansas has all the momentum in the world right now up 6 in OT. Packer said at the beginning of OT that Kansas has history with OT in championship games, because in 1957 they went against UNC in 3 OT's in the final. I bet most of the players' parents weren't born then.
  6. I rented Donnie Darko for the first time a year ago, and watched it 3 times in the week I had it so I think I at least have a decent grasp on it. Definitely a bit confused after the first two views, and even still a little after the third. I'll agree with Eternal Sunshine a bit, although that's an excellent movie.
  7. My list would look something like: 1) Tennis 2) Baseball/Softball (Prefer baseball though) 3) Basketball It really depends on the season I guess. Since it's Spring I've been aching for some baseball and tennis, but during the winter I love playing basketball at the Rec Center here. I also enjoy racquetball, (outdoor) volleyball, and golf, though I don't personally consider it a sport. I love watching football, but wasn't exactly blessed with a football player's body, coming in at about 6'3 1/2" and 170 pounds after a big meal.
  8. Power rankings released at this point in the season have about as much merit as pre-season College Basketball and Football polls, which is basically none. I highly doubt anyone believes the Tigers are the worst team in MLB, while the Cardinals are one of the best.
  9. I don't think I've ever had Sunflower seeds during non-baseball season -Cook outs -Big League Chew -Lame 620 radio commercials with bad baseball puns (Drive one home with Schneider National, take home $32,000 your rookie season!) -Spring in general, though the fact it's in the 30's here right now doesn't help too much.
  10. Man, I remember "studying" for my Biology final the next day my Sophomore year of high school. I think I was only awake until about the 13th inning or so.
  11. I just saw Big Fish for the first time on Saturday, I know what you guys mean.
  12. I'll agree with sbrylski. I'm not too into the genre, but I thought it sounded pretty good. I also thought they might've sounded kind of similar, but again I don't listen to that kind of music too often so that's probably why I can't pick up on some of the differences. You've got a good voice, by the way.
  13. Maybe Brodie from Mallrats gave him the stinkpalm. But really though that would kind of suck if he was somehow cheating, though I doubt it. He's really really fun to watch.
  14. Even though it's only 6 games I'd imagine it's extremely frustrating for Tigers' fans. It's only one start but D-Train's command was absolutely no where yesterday, not exactly a hot start for him. Hopefully they like the Red Wings as much as they like the Tigers.
  15. Rickie Weeks didn't score a run today.
  16. I've never liked him, and it goes back to when he was with the Pirates too so it's not like this is just a "He's a Cub" thing.
  17. Hey, Attanasio's son's hat is on backwards now, instead of both sideways and backwards, maybe he reads this board.
  18. I like facing LHP. And now 4 pitches for two outs, hah.
  19. Sorry, I guess I thought the "begging for change" was a giveaway, but oh well. I'll gladly insert my foot in my mouth if Gwynn plays well this first month, I'm just not as confident as some of the people are here.
  20. Well that sucks, last I saw he was like the #20th rated SG recruit. Maybe Williams will be hired and Taylor will stay.
  21. I agree Todd Lickliter would be awesome, I guess I don't see him leaving Iowa after one year though. Xavier has been better than Marquette the last few years, but three of their best players (Duncan, Burrell, and Lavender) are seniors which would lead me to believe that Matta recrutied them, but I could be wrong. but he top 10 classes lined up for 2009 and 2010, which is the reason why isn't going anywhere, also the reason they aren't calling for his head. How many of them have signed though? If they had Gordon this year their class would be 10x better. For all we know, one his star recruits will change his mind in the next year or two, so it might be a little early to tell.
  22. I would love for Bennett to come to the state, but I really don't see how he'd fit in with the style of the program/conference. It'd be very interesting to see him try to implement it with James/McNeal/Hayward/etc. wanting to run, though. Sean Miller (Xavier) -- I'm not sure on this one. He's put Xavier on the map for a few years now. To be fair, Thad Matta had Xavier in the Elite 8 before Miller got there, so I wouldn't credit Miller for putting them on the map. Xavier almost seems to be a stepping stone for coaches who want to go to a better program and conferece, ie Skip Prosser, Xavier to Wake Forest, Thad Matta went from there to Ohio State. I think Marquette would be a step up for Miller, since he'd be going to the Big East. I think it'd be great if we got him. I wouldn't want Bruce Weber. People are starting to see how his teams do when he doesn't have Bill Selfs recruits. Sure he's probably a good "in game coach" but not a good recruiter.
  23. I also like the Indians. I was a big A's fan in the early 2000's, and still like a lot of players from those teams (Zito, Hudson, Miggy from back in the day). I still like them now but not as much. Don't mind the Twins either, probably cause they're in the AL and they've managed to be pretty good with a pretty low payroll. The only AL teams I actively root against are Boston, New York, and LA, otherwise I don't really mind any teams. If I had to pick an NL team I think I'd go with the Phillies, except for the fans obviously. I hate the Cubs, don't like the Cardinals, Mets, Astros, etc.
  24. I hope you realize that was supposed to be sarcasm, alluding to the idea that if I don't think Gwynn should be starting, I hate him.
  25. I personally hope he's out of the league by the end of April and begging for change on the streets by May.
