  1. Does anyone know the answer but I'm guessing that Boggs and Cruz earlier can talk to other teams while deciding to accept the AAA assignment or declare FA so they know what their options are if they do go the FA route and it isn't so much a gamble. Cruz seemed to have contract in hand with Tex pretty quickly so I would guess so.
  2. Another reason to be excited is based on their spring training record (which we all know is so important unless its a losing record when ST stats don't matter) they are on track for 102 wins. I think that may be enough to win the division.
  3. Ryne Duren spoke at our high school 20 some years ago about his battles with alcohol and overcoming it. It's been too long ago to remember much about it though.
  4. Voted for you too, ESPN is going to open an investigation into such a large margin of victory http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I think it has to do with the blackness contradicting the pale in IPA. At least that would be my guess.
  6. Best of Luck Cappy. You will always be remembered as one of the good guys in baseball. Always enjoyed watching you pitch and was so happy for you that you made it back to Milwaukee last year. Some team will be lucky to have you next year and you will always have a fan base in Milwaukee.
  7. I think 20 of 25 spots are locked. With the last 2 spots in the bullpen, backup catcher and final 2 bench positions up for grabs. I agree Gamel and Boggs have the edge for the bench spots unless they want Gamel to play everyday at AAA. Backup C is a tossup for who does best in ST between Nieves, Kottaras and Rivera. I like McClendon for one of the last spots in the bullpen but it could be any number of guys.
  8. I say 93 wins. Greinke will get 19, Yo 16, Marcum 15, Wolf 12 and Narvy 11 and the bullpen/others will be good for 20.
  9. I agree with what Casey said, agree to a price of the car without the trade-in and then negotiate the trade-in value. And never tell them what you want to pay on a monthly basis as your car payment because they will then 'back into' a number for the price of the car.
  10. I (and possibly my wife) have a hat obsession. Combined we have over 50 hats, 4 out of 5 are mine. The majority are baseball and the majority of those are Brewers but we also have hats for the Twins, White Sox (2), Phillies (2), Padres, Red Sox, Cardinals, National, Orioles, Expos. Most were bought will on vacations and some of the others are from colleges in places we've been too. I don't wear hats that often so most only make an appearance once per year or two. Does anyone else have such an obsession and wear hats for teams they aren't true fans of? Yesterday I was wearing a St. Louis Blues hat that my wife wanted when we visited St. Louis last weekend and someone commented on how brave I was to wear a Blues hat in Blackhawks country. And the truth is I don't really follow hockey at all which was kinda funny.
  11. One quick question and one comment. Does this mean that Money isn't in the running for the Brewers managerial position at all? I didn't realize he was 63 years old already. I can't think that there are too many first time MLB managers that age or older, especially in the last 10 or 20 years.
  12. Them I'm annoyed that someone didn't fill the quarters up.
  13. What bugs me is when I get change back at a store and it's not the least amount of coins that could be used. If I'm getting 37 cents back, it shouldn't be 3 dimes, a nickle and 2 pennies (6 coins) when a quarter, dime and 2 pennies (4 coins) will do. I happened yesterday and today and today was with the auto change things so can't even blame it on dumb people.
  14. It was indeed a busy day and somehow we managed to make it to Game 4 the next day which if I recall was a noon start and we live 2 hours away down in Chicagoland. Not sure how that happened but my lovely wife was a great sport. I still remember the look she gave me when I told her the tickets we had were for Sunday vs. Thursday. I had managed to win the lottery for (home) games 1 or 2 and not seeing the word 'home' assumed this was for the Wednesday or Thursday game (I guess thinking it was still 2-3 instead of 2-2-1). So since we were taking off Thursday anyway we could do any wedding prep before after so why not go to the game. We had tickets to the last 2 games of the regular season and were enjoying the playoff celebration when CC was asked 'will we see you in Philly' and I think it took me about 2 minutes to process what that meant and another 5 or 10 to get the courage to tell my wife we held tickets to a game the day after our wedding. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be here to tell this story. So all week we debate what to do and after going down 2-0 almost wished they would be swept on Saturday to make it a moot point. And some of my relatives from Wisconsin were ready and willing to take the tickets if needed. Except at some point at the reception (game 3 is on the TV in the bar area) I realize there is no way I'm going to miss game 4. And you can see me checking the TV during our first dance on our wedding video. I hope we make it back to the playoffs but not knowing what the future holds, I think being at game 4 is definately a lifetime memory. So yep, here we are 2 years later getting ready to head to St. Louis for a 3 day weekend and take in a game at Busch Stadium. My wife's idea since we've been to a new park together each of the first 5 years we've been together but none so far in 2010. Gotta keep the streak alive. And next year it will be 4 of us going to a new park http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The twins even have Brewer onesies already. We can shoot for 2.25 since they are due 3.16 but likely to be early since twins do that. We're just hoping its after Valentine's Day.

  16. The happiest day in my life as it was my wedding day. May only be surpassed by the birth of my twins in Feb. or March http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  18. Petco in San Diego is my favorite for many of the same reasons beno listed above. Fenway was great to see. I don't see how Wrigley comes close but that may be more to do with the team/fans inside than the stadiums. Oriole Park at Candem Yards was a disappointment - loved the warehouse but the concourse around the seating bowl was closed off like the older stadiums which I thought made it less impressive. Also been to Miller Park, Comisky, Old RFK (horrible seating - from behind homeplate I couldn't see a popup or flyball higher than about 20 feet), Great American, Comerica and Citizens Bank. The last 3 were nothing special and I would rate behind Petco and Miller Park for the newer stadiums I've been to. Next on the list is Busch the last weekend of the season.
  19. Without doing alot of research I gonna go with FOREVER as the answer to the title question. Hopefully we are done signing over the hill pitching and have learned you can actually pitch rookies in MLB games.
  20. So Macha supposedly said he wanted Dickerson in CF because he already knew that Cain could handle it. So I guess we are just playing out the string or Macha just doesn't get it. Why go with what you know works when you can take your chance with the unknown? Reason number 657,533.
  21. After reading what Phillips said I wasn't 100% clear on how he felt about the Cardinals. I am sure this is going over real well in St. Louis, I think I can hear them whining all the way to Chicago.
  22. If so, I hope Dickerson's stay in Milwaukee improves from the entrance unlike Mench's.
  23. I'm pretty sure that was on old Nat City sponsorship that changed recently when PNC purchased. PNC does seem to get its name around though.
  24. Macha will still start a gimp Edmonds and just ask Corey and Ryan to cover more ground in the OF.
