  1. Yeah, I'd be PHing here... we might not get another opportunity... and predictably, we get a weak grounder
  2. Damnit.... cmon guys, don't need that ****. We have the pitcher on the ropes, why bunt there?
  3. R E L A X everyone. It's the second inning. Top of the order up in the 3rd. Let's just do Brewer things in the bottom of the 2nd... play good defense and stay in the game, just like we have all year. Seattle is having a rough day, but I'm sure they'll pull together for Friday's game 5. Hell, the Bluejays had a tough Game 3, but I'm guessing thye bounce back strong today.
  4. Great AB so far for Lockridge. Woodpecker mentality... let's get into that Cubs bullpen by wearing down Taillon
  5. Guys... chill out. Its early... 3-1 isn't insurmountable with our offense. As many have said, probably not the best decision to have a rookie start his first playoff game on the road. Not great planning by our manager there. Let's get out of the inning and get after it. We have a solid bullpen. Mears, Patrick, Ashby will hold down the fort until we can regain the lead.
  6. cmon kid. Hang in there. A ground ball gets you out of the inning
  7. Awesome. Thanks. My wife gave me a "budget" of $500, for 2 Loge Level seats... IIRC, we sat in 217 for a couple games during the season (weekend games with kids), and paid about $80 per ticket. I realize playoffs are more, but hoping to fit within that 3x multiplier. Will keep my eyes peeled for single game ticket sales
  8. Anyone know if we can expect something similar for the NLCS (should we get there?) Hoping to take my wife to the game tuesday, but prices (even for high up in terrace section) are insane right now (well over $200/ticket)
  9. Given that we have a 2 game lead over Philly and 5 games to go, I'd say games still matter. I get the difference between the 1 seed and 2 seed is smaller than the difference between a 2 and a 3 (because of the bye), but I'd still much rather play the Cubs/Padres rather than the red hot Dodgers or Reds
  10. Jordan Love is not Deshaun Watson, but right now it sure looks like his contract is one of the worst 5 in the NFL (with Dak Prescott). We made him the highest player in the league with that contract, based on 1 good month. Nothing wrong with being an average QB (we've been spoiled with B2B HOF QBs), but average QBs shouldn't make $50 million/year on long term deals. They are available every offseason on modest one-year deals. I was really excited this season once we traded for Micah Parsons, but that is fading a bit. The Packers are just not fun to watch.
  11. WTH. Now we put Mona in, after the horse has already left the barn. Murphy, do us a favor and get yourself tossed
  12. Couldn't help myself... stuck around for 1 more inning, just to see us get 2 more runners on base only to have another weak groundout for Ortiz... Why not PH Mona there?
  13. Yeah. Seems pretty likely he'll get through 7 tonight... We've had a couple of good ABs against him, but not enough, and too many 1-2 pitch outs.
  14. I'm not sleeping on the cubs yet. We have spot starters every game this series and then 2 series against potential playoff-bound San Diego and Cinci... We have beat up the Pirates and Angels, but have looked lackluster against about everyone else in the past month
  15. I agree Ed. He either needs more refining, or is gassed and needs to be shut down for the season. I love the potential, but he just isn't helping us right now, and I worry that too much adversity will stunt his development
  16. Yeah. We missed a big opportunity in the 1st inning with 2 on and 1 out. When we don't cash in early, really allows the opposing pitcher to lock in. Gotta keep the woodpecker mentality, but with how Miz is pitching, we're probably going to need atleast 5 to win tonight
  17. good grief... might as well tune out early... this game is not going to go well. He doesn't have it tonight. let's roll with Fedde
  18. Ugly first inning, but I'll definitely take only being down 1 with how that started. We're going to have to get baserunners in tonight though if we want to win.
