  1. If he works through a few more innings, he's absolutely earned that and more nice piece of hitting by Bandy! not sure how he kept that ball fair
  2. Guerra's fastball seems to have alot of late tailing movement on it...liking that alot
  3. If you click on the 'full screen' icon at the lower right hand of the stream, it should expand to full screen and likely will eliminate showing the stupid likes/hearts
  4. liking the feed, but it's obvious right away this game will need to be watched on mute...
  5. I think someone needs to take Stearns' phone and internet access away for at least the next 3-4 days so he can't contact CO Springs about additional roster moves. Let the dust settle a bit and just play with what you've got on the roster right now - there's already enough shuffling that needs to happen on a daily basis with the 25-man active roster as is. They really need a big offensive day to try and preserve what's left of their pen and allow Guerra a long leash to get through 6-7 IP. If he gets shelled early, Guerra should just be the sacrificial lamb on getaway day - no way should he get pulled early no matter what.
  6. Williams is still up, right? I think Drake is here until Logan or Miley are healthy and available, even though I disagree with that approach - Jennings should make Drake expendable and allow for one of Woodruff or Houser to be up right now - except that's not possible for a few more days with their recent trips back to CO Springs. The Brewers need to just indicate Albers is their interim closer and roll with it until Knebel can get back into the mix. Seems like since his injury CC has gone crazy with some of the pen moves and while having options in AAA to shuttle back and forth due to depth is good, it feels like they're going to that well too much and it's having a negative effect on the pen's stability. Last night's loss stunk but those games are going to happen when the pen is constantly being relied upon to give you 4+ innings of work protecting 1 run leads. Their biggest need right now is getting starters consistently through 6 and into the 7th innings instead of averaging ~5IP per start. I'd also like to see Woodruff and Houser back up soon. If Guerra performs well in Milwaukee, both of those guys need to start games in CO Springs in the interim.
  7. No options left. They'd have to waive him. I'm fine with that, actually
  8. If it wasn't the Cardinals, I'd almost like to see someone knock one out of here in the bottom half to prevent something stupid happening with a reliever...then again Hoover could probably be ridden until this game is put out of its misery and then get sent down to CO Springs after tonight, right?
  9. If this game creeps past midnight and goes into tomorrow, does that mean Hader and Albers are available?
  10. I said highly-regarded prospect. He was ranked #6 in our organization in 2012. That's highly-regarded. The Brewers' minor league system was widely considered amongst the league's bottom 5 back then - so being the 6th-rated prospect in a system headlined by Wily Peralta is tough to be considered highly regarded. sigh...more innings of baseball for this slow motion train wreck of a team - at least it feels that way!
  11. I am almost positive Scooter was never a top 100 prospect. Yeah - never even close.
  12. back to the point of the game thread...the game - 2 more outs to get, c'mon Vacuum!
  13. Because of his sparkling .691 OPS for the Reds this year so far? Scooter had a.875 OPS last year. You're really taking a 10 game sample size to make that determination? Posted by someone basing 1 season of Scooter being better than replacement level through his entire career...
  14. I think there's a good chance Chacin gets entrenched in the #5 spot before the end of this season, even if the only MLB additions the Brewers make to the rotation are internal (Nelson, MiLB callups) - that's a good thing. Chacin was essentially signed to take the rotation spot vacated by the combo of Garza/Suter/random questionable at best #5 starter in the 2017 rotation - not to suddenly improve as a pitcher after signing a contract below market value for a dependable bottom of the rotation arm. I'm struggling with why expectations were that he'd suddenly start dominating - and this isn't Suppan, Wolf, or Lohse revisited because the contract he's under is very team-friendly. Best case scenario is he has a few stretches like Marcum did during his 1st season with the Brewers where he is consistently providing 6-7 IP quality starts 80% of the time, with the occasional quick hook or blow up game. Expecting more from him is foolish, and I don't get why people's hair are on fire over it aside from trying to get it out of the way now before Chacin's performance mutes the naysayers.
  15. Chacin is what he is - in looking at his game logs even from last season where he had a pretty decent year, he's not going to get you deep into games on a consistent basis. Chacin also started 2017 off terribly - it wasn't really until June when he started grouping quality starts together, and he performed well from then to season's end, but it wasn't like he was putting up 8IP/1ER type starts much at all. He's a good #5 starter for a contending team that shouldn't be relied on to consistently mow through a batting order 3 times every start, and his contract pays him as such - the problem for the Brewers right now is he's essentially their #3 with Nelson out and Suter/Woodruff mightily struggling. At least Davies and Anderson have righted things a bit - hopefully that continues. Right now the Brewers have 3 rotation spots where they're lucky to get 5IP from their starter and still be in the game - obviously not good enough. But, it's early and one thing the Brewers appear to have are rotation options - I'm not high on Miley, but let's see how things shake out over the next few weeks to see what type of role he could fill for the MLB club. I think tonight's start may (and should) be Suter's last shot at staying in the rotation. He’s a bad pitcher away from Petco who should never have been signed as anything other than a contender for our number 5. Which is exactly what I think he'll be in a couple months. The Brewers are 7% into this season and currently sport a winning record despite feeling like they should be 1-10 at times...with what they currently have on their 40-man roster and other young pitchers starting to appear more than ready in the high minors, it appears that Stearns is taking the approach of a steady shuttle of arms between AAA and Milwaukee to fill the bottom of the rotation/long relief role with a pile of #5-caliber starters to keep key late inning relievers from being overused - especially with Knebel out for awhile now. I expect that to continue until enough pitchers' performances warrant consistent starts.
  16. 4 walks in an inning...and you manage but a run - rinse and repeat of late inning 2017 Brewers!
