  1. I'm tempted to take the fetal position here. Come on, John!
  2. Funny distraction from this tense game: I liked the song when I first heard it, so I got the iTunes copy. It came up on the iPod on the way to MP for NLDS game 2. My 11 year old nephew pointed at the car stereo and said, "this is the BEST SONG!" I said, "let's see what you think after they play it every half inning." He's not sick of it yet either, but he gives me a fistbump every time it plays when we're together. So while it's badly overplayed, I now associate it with a happy memory.
  3. I don't know how stretched out he is, otherwise I'd be on that bandwagon with you.
  4. Fixed that for you. There aren't many people on earth whom I'll boo merely on sight, but TLR is on that short list.
  5. Those two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.Aw, you're sweet. Also, thanks, K-Rod.
  6. There have been quite a few 8th innings lately where I've thought to myself, "high enough leverage for you, Francisco?" Also - did the chat room just quit on anyone else? or am I special?
  7. http://blog.timesunion.com/davenport/files/2011/09/bobs.jpg Randy Wolf tonight = Big Boy performance. Thank you.
  8. I think Brewerfan.net should send the Nationals a nice fruit basket at the end of this season.
  9. Late to this particular party, but I can't not post this: http://werenotfunny.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/dance-fever.jpg
  10. I'm not sure how much I can add here, so I'll rely on what's worked before: 1-0 for Thursday, Brewers. Have fun and good luck.
  11. Agreed. A lot depends on which Wolfottaras shows up tonight, but Randy has pleasantly surprised me with a gem before. Win on Thursday, and it's a best-of-three with two at home.
  12. Perhaps they should have taken a cue from The Onion and called it "A Nightmare Descent into Booze and Pills."
  13. I wonder if he's still strung out on cough syrup. I remember reading last week that he had some upper respiratory bug.
  14. I'm not going to lie. I was freaking out during the first inning (and hence made the wise decision not to post here at the time). This tweet from (of all places) Miller Park Drunk made me feel a little better:
  15. Well, in case Yo pitches tonight: We really need you tonight.
  16. Perhaps RRR considers Mark to be the most expendable outfielder, in case of a slip/fall on the wet grass. I'll make sure the S.O. wears his Kotsay shirt tonight.
  17. I don't hate the song yet, but its magic jumped the shark when the Miller Diamond Dancers used it for their routine Monday night. Maybe that's why that game headed south.
  18. Oh, they exist. I saw one on a fan at either Sunday's or Monday's NLCS game. Now that I think of it, that's kind of a perverse day for a Brewers fan to wear a Suppan shirt.
  19. The Cardinals' organization must want to upset the current players in addition to the fans. If they wanted to only needle Brewers fans they could have brought out Ozzie Smith or Bruce Sutter, or most anyone from their 1982 squad. Even David Eckstein would have evoked the "important piece of the 2006 puzzle" vibe without picking a former Brewer. Classy.
  20. It's harder to feel upbeat after Monday night, but these teams are pretty evenly matched, and a drawn out series would not surprise me. The usher in our regular-season section (Bill in the press box area) said "See you Sunday" when we left last night, and I'm not going to question him.
  21. What a shame. I was always impressed that Gary so often took an active role in pre-game groundskeeping, rather than delegate everything to his staff. I'd noticed that he was on the field less this year, but did not know why. My other Gary memory is of an open house that the Brewers had for season ticket holders in February 2003. The service level was open for us to look around, there was a rummage sale, and in particular I remember a grounds crew display in one room which was hosted by Gary. I don't remember what we talked about that day but we still have the little cups of infield dirt that were available to take home.
  22. It may have been mentioned elsewhere by now, but the front rows of the field bleachers were occupied Monday night. For the NLCS, TBS added a camera and similarly blocked off surrounding seats in the front right corner of 222 (our postseason section). I'm 99 percent certain that camera wasn't there in the NLDS, though we saw the one in 215 during the NLDS. After Sunday's game (NLCS 1), my brother (who came with us and has worked as a camera operator) climbed up onto the platform normally used in the regular season, and noticed that the netting gets a bit in the way. So maybe the current locations are that much less obstructed?
  23. Our odyssey continues. My hopes for tonight include these: A better night for Shaun. (Hint: Try not to load the bases and you may not have to worry about a grand slam.) 1-0 for Monday for the Brewers. That Yuku might yield enough functionality for those of you not attending the game to actually utilize the forums and/or chat room tonight. I'd settle for the first two, even.
  24. You forgot spitting at an umpire, which must increase classiness. Those of you who use Twitter can have fun searching for #futurelarussacomplaints.
