  1. Remembering the "game 162" thread jflick1215 began in 2008, I thought I'd try to capture people's thoughts today (while we await an IGT). I'm geeked out and delighted to have bonus baseball. The NLDS game 3 in 2008 was one of the happiest days in my life (and would have been, win or lose). This year I can buy into the idea that the Brewers are looking for more than just "being there." The weather looks nice and I can hardly wait to get on the road, much less get in the park. Good luck and have fun, Brewers. 1-0 for today.
  2. Guest relations won't have ticket stock to supply. You might have more success at a ticket window, or at contacting the ticket office after the fact. It might be a madhouse today.
  3. I think the spot is fine, but I tweaked your subject line to be a wee bit more descriptive. Unfortunately (to keep on topic), I can't get to AZ, but I hope those of you who go love it.
  4. Golf clap to you guys for directing this thread back to where it belongs: OTC pain medication. Goody's Headache Powder has always sounded like a quackery product to me. Like those "tonics" that were going to cure all of everyone's ills but were really pretty much booze. Though - it turns out to be a /en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goody%27s_Powder//">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goody%27s_Powder//">a combination of aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine.
  5. That is some kind of strategic timing.
  6. Sorry. Don't bite your tongue off! Your MVP chants tomorrow and Sunday will sound all garbled.
  7. Well, think of it as a brain disorder instead. "Mental disorder" has always sounded to me like a mind-over-matter thing, and I can attest to the fact that mental illness is as much outside one's control as cancer, MS, diabetes or a host of chronic "physical" illnesses. However, that horse has been beaten enough. For me, it's Walgreens brand ibuprofen FTW! And I don't want to move the thread right away, but we can get it to WOAH SOLVDD eventually.
  8. This thread is SO destined for WOAH SOLVDD.
  9. Or of their backsides when they stand up to wave their towels every few minutes, or give Ryan Braun an M-V-P ovation every one of his at-bats. Otherwise, row 2 of section 330 worked fine for me, the SO and thablingster on Saturday night! Row 8 of the terrace is in most sections the front row of terrace reserved, so railings should be your only hassle, and it won't prevent you from being able to follow the game or anything. Here's hoping the bit it obstructs for you isn't something crucial like home plate or first base.
  10. I am pretty sure the season ticket postseason mailer said to not expect to be able to park on MP grounds if you don't buy parking in advance (i.e. have a pass).
  11. 96 regular season wins. In one season. That really happened!
  12. Hey, Daron, we remember you fondly too. Not that I don't understand how an epic moment calls for an epic call. Well, Brewers, you know where you want to be and you know the most straightforward way to get there. 1-0 for Wednesday...and could you try to achieve that in under 4 hours? Some of us are trying to balance fan support with day jobs. Love you, hawing
  13. I seriously just saw a student in my library with a Betancourt player tee. I asked her why Yuni and she replied, with shining eyes, " Because I love him! He's my favorite Brewer!" I don't feel that way about him, but I respect her opinion. (Note that she didn't say he was the best Brewer.)
  14. At 5'3", I find that I need to be in at least the third row beyond a railing to have it not interfere with my view. However, it's not a serious blockage. I like the way 1992casey's phrasing suggests that the terrace level has only one "vomitorium."
  15. Clearly the Dodgers don't like my nephew. OK, Brewers, you know what to do Wednesday night, then.
  16. Dear Dodgers: My 11 year old nephew can only join us for a weekend postseason game. You could help us out with that. He's a great kid. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely, hawing
  17. I thought that looked like your turf. Sorry you had a near miss. I'm trying to persuade myself that we as a Brewers fan base are getting Prince's best years. Trying. Edit: Nice playoff hoodie! I haven't decided whether to get that style or the navy one JaDerHeySki is sporting.
  18. At the risk of making a bad former-Brewer pun, I hope Randy is ready tonight. 1-0 for Tuesday, Brewers. "Al Davis said it best - just win, baby, win."
  19. This is my fourth consecutive attended game (which is probably a hawing record), so I'm hoping Shaun and co. make the sleep deprivation worth our while. 1-0 for Monday, Brewers.
  20. You and I know that this is bigger, but try convincing the Madison media of that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif ESPN Gameday is coming to Madison Saturday, so if the Brewers play at MP on October 1, some southern Wisconsin sports fans might asplode. Not that the Turner networks would care about that.
  21. After feeling like one of a zillion at MP over the weekend, I was a bit surprised today to feel like the only person on the UW-Madison campus wearing a NL Champions Brewers cap.
  22. Awelarious, then. More seriously...I keep thinking there has to be some unexpected cosmic reason for Yuni to remain on the roster and start as often as he does. A monster postseason would work for me, though I hate to think of the asploding heads that this site would experience.
  23. Just think of the fatalities that could result if someone turned "SNL skit going on too long" into a drinking game. /shaking head, then laughing at the thought of the double take you'll all do upon seeing a weekday morning post from hawing in this thread/
  24. The wave is more challenging to achieve in Miller Park because some of the seating areas are on top of each other, making it harder for a crowd to stay in sync. Having said that, I'm with Robin19 on the general issue. Camp Randall, sure, knock yourselves out. Not in baseball.
  25. I wonder if there might not have been a premium for buying them on the "first night." I was a little shocked by how much the NL Central Champions cap I bought there last night cost, though for once in my life I don't regret the purchase. It's not what the team wore while celebrating, but with all due respect to MLB, I did not wait 29 years for a cap that only says "Playoffs."
