  1. I'd like to point out that Robin19 has internet access much closer to Milwaukee than I have - a clear advantage. Plus he has the BrewBerry.
  2. What is it now? I noticed his song changed, but could not identify the new tune.
  3. Add to that hawing and one of my students who knows enough about baseball to know that guessing Prince when the question has anything to do with an ERA is flat out embarrassing. That contestant is lucky we were sitting in the stratosphere today, otherwise he'd have heard me booing. So this was my first game in terrace reserved in about a decade, and I won't lie, it helped me remember how far we've come, location-wise, as season ticket holders since 2001. It's harder to keep one's mind on the game from the upper upper RF corner! But the price was right for my college student employees and we still had fun. And I'm so proud of my posse - they did not start the wave. Now, Brewers, think you could keep up even half this pace on the road? Because that would be very helpful. Edit: Should fortune smile upon us and the Brewers sweep the Reds this next series, Brandon Crawford owes all of us some George Webb.
  4. So will the Rockies be public enemy #1 of baseball now?
  5. I welcome you all on the Luc bandwagon, which I boarded as soon as he debuted last year. (Not saying that bensheeps is a bandwagon fan in any way) I'm glad we got home from Woodman's just in time to see the game ending play. Hat tip to Mota as well; he can give up a game even when baseballs are not taking flight.
  6. Objective? Maybe? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I wish I'd gotten home in time to see go-go-gadget's ITP live. I'm sure it's Carlos' personal "happy birthday" gift to zachlaka.
  7. During Jonathan's 8th inning at-bat on Friday night, the crowd responded with some "Luuuuuuuuuuuuuc" chants between pitches. So 'Luc' it is. Good to know our discussion is having an impact. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. I like pitchers' duels, and I hope this one lives up to the hype. Ideally, this would be one of those "electric crowd" nights. Go Brewers!
  9. Well, I'm glad Brandon stayed in Milwaukee long enough to score the eventual winning run Tuesday night. I was all ready to doctor up my Villanueva shirt in honor of that play, but I guess I can hold off for now.
  10. Bob (as fireworks sound over the radio after the foul tip): "Someone else thought it was over too." Finish him, Kam!
  11. Is Yuni's hit less impressive since it came off Todd Coffey? Also, for the Coffey fans out there, at least it was an unearned run.
  12. If I can make a linguistic aside, I love that pronunciation of "crazy" depicted by Russ above. It reminds me of the lone episode of "City Confidential" we've ever watched, because its subject was a 1985 murder in Darlington, Wisconsin (current home of my brother's family and also fellow poster bensheeps). The narrator said CRA-ZAY every time he described the murder suspect (a judge who was found guilty and ended up killing himself in prison). CRA-ZAY! OK, I'm done. Carry on, posters / hang on, Brewers.
  13. Last night I noticed on the concourse TV that Todd was warming up and I wondered, "if they use him will he sprint out and be timed?" So it's cool that they did. Classy, in fact. Take note, STL.
  14. As Dr. Nick Riviera might say, "I'm so sick of that guy!" At least we should be done with him after today...unless he's traded to a team the Brewers play later this season. http://kidsdontgetit.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/dr-riviera1.png
  15. Regulars in the chat room will know I've been saying and writing JonLuc since his callup. I can overcome the TNG connection.
  16. I heard Cory Provus report this after the game last night. Bummer for JDLR. Does my mild relief this weekend upon realizing that the Brewers would not face him indicate "how far he'd come"?
  17. Doesn't look like it. FSWisconsin tonight is rebroadcasting an Astros/Brewers game from April 22. Makes me miss the Squeeze Play. Edit: Would that the Brewers could have results today similar to the last time they faced Jason Marquis. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. JonLuc has been one of my fan-crushes since his debut, so I'm more than happy to give him some fan love. In fact, since leaving the park last night I've been trying to figure out how to wear my Lucroy shirt (made last June at the custom counter because the Brewers inexplicably made no navy Lucroy shirts to buy off the rack in 2010) to work today without looking too unprofessional. He's been talking to Cory in many a post-game show lately, which I've enjoyed. Last night he mentioned that given his recent baserunning gaffes, no way was he going to move past first on his 2 RBI hit. That made me smile. I'm just happy when he's in the lineup, and am not going to fuss over his spot in the order as long as he's in it.
  19. Sorry to miss you, OWBC. I thought you might be in the terrace box, but good for you (though LF bleachers would have given you a better chance at a HR ball). I'll agree on OWBC's observation that the crowd really didn't give up after the Nats' grand slam. I can't say I would have predicted the exact play that produced the go-ahead run, but I shrugged to myself after the GS and thought "plenty of time." The only time I was worried was when it took too many batters to get the final out in the 9th. I enjoyed the two loud guys behind us who were kind of singing along with New Noise (to the extent that is possible) in the 9th. The hawing ticket is now 9-2 in games we've attended in 2011, and our season tickets are 10-2 overall. This is my personal Brewers crazy train and I am enjoying the present. Keep the pedal to the metal, Brewers.
  20. This is one of those games where the pitching matchup looks a little daunting on paper (especially to those of us who sat through Livan's shutout of the Brewers in Washington in April 2010), but I try to approach with an open mind anyway. Corey: Remember the way you gripped the bat Monday night? Keep doing that.
  21. I had thought about getting up to try and figure out the Madison location, but the more I thought about it, I kinda figured something like this would happen. There are a few of them up on ebay right now and they're almost all in the $100 range so far. I guess I'm glad I talked myself out of it, otherwise I'd be pretty upset if I woke up that early for nothing.I figured the Madison location would not be as overrun as any in Milwaukee, but being downtown (I'm guessing James Madison Park, based on the clue) at 5:00 AM on a day when we're headed to the ballpark at night seemed ill-advised. Plus just because Madison might be less overrun than Milwaukee doesn't mean it wouldn't be overrun.
  22. Giving away tickets to that game will get you some good karma down the road.
  23. Forgot to be more specific, forgot to mention he would go deep 3 times! If you could let us know what to expect for Tuesday night, that'd be great.
  24. Fixed that for you! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
