  1. I just have an aversion (not necessarily rational) to C-Pat as an ex-Cub. I can imagine that Corey Hart maybe just got back to Milwaukee shortly before game time and that's why he wasn't in tonight's lineup. If Patterson starts many more games, I'll be dismayed. As it stands, C-Pat still has a chance of going for the gold.
  2. Ah, Carlos, you don't have to let it all unravel here. You really don't.
  3. Works for me. I just can't stomach the notion of "the year" hinging on Corey Patterson. And Robb Edwards wounds my Hart-loving soul every time he says 'COR-eeeeeey Patterson.' Stop the madness.
  4. Laughing? At the baseball gods? Oh, man, Prince is so asking for it. Ooh ooh, J.J. with a hit!
  5. FSN cites neck spasms for Manny. So, go Carlos, I guess. Oh, logan. Let's not let anything involving Corey Patterson be bigger than "tonight's big question." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. pretendastronaut, the Manny photo you chose looks like he's busting out of his jersey. Welcome back Corey Hart! I wish you were playing tonight, instead of that poser Corey.
  7. Though if you schedule the popular promotions for mid-week games, you exclude a lot, if not most, of the Brewers' audience outside southeast Wisconsin, who (if you're the marketing director) you've been trying hard to lure more often to MP to begin with. Just saying.
  8. I know the Brewers' roster is full of head-scratcher decisions lately, but let's keep this thread focused on the Axford callup. Thanks!
  9. Indeed. Perhaps instead of describing a Craig Counsell bobblehead as a 'good draw,' I could have described it as one that might get fewer complaints on this board. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I do like that. I hope it lasts longer on youtube this time.
  11. A Counsell bobblehead would be a good draw, if he returns in 2010. It probably wouldn't be plausible, but a terrific idea for the alternate Counsell bobble would be his pre-2009 batting stance.
  12. Crystal Light powder is the same way, though I haven't tested its colorfastness by dumping it on people.
  13. I think you meant to say "Saint Pujols and the Cardinals." Get the order right, young man.I'm just wondering after which regular season game someone's going to hand Carpenter the Cy Young, A.P. the MVP and the team the WS trophy. I mean, why not? Anyway. After yesterday's awesomefest, I had all but accepted that today's game would fall short. Carpenter about met my expectations (though he did mix some balls in with all those strikes), and Dave Bush exceeded them. I mean, I always hope for better - and I did have my Dave Bush player tee on - but I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd been rocked by that all star lineup. I was dismayed not only to see Corey Patterson in the lineup (in any spot), but especially when Robb Edwards pronounced his first name the same way he does my Corey. I know not everyone here feels as I do about Corey Hart, but I think we can all agree that an enthusiastic "COReeeeeeey Patterson!" sounds sick and wrong. It was heartening to see every fan in our row (all Brewers fans) wear their caps in rally position during the Brewers' half of the 9th. Some kids are being raised right.
  14. In case pretendastronaut is still on holiday. (If not, please do add your usual higher tech graphics.) Carpenter v. Bush doesn't look all that favorable on paper...but as has been said many times, many ways on this forum before, they don't play games on paper. Besides, the 2009 Brewers are 2-0 vs. STL when I am in attendance. So I'd better get to the park.
  15. Starting today! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Here is what my mother (who is more introverted than I am, which is saying something) had to say about Sunday's game-ending celebration: I appreciate tomwopat's insight (which doesn't make me any more eager to ever visit Busch), but I'm going to side with my mom.
  16. I just found an image I like a little better.
  17. Since I still appear to be able to enjoy individual games in a vacuum...today's was awesome. - I've always preferred pitchers' duels to slugfests, and given the Brewers' pitching woes this year, pitchers' duels have been harder to come by. - First triple play in a decade (was it the first in Miller Park? I don't recall if one has been turned against the Brewers here). And I saw all of this one. I missed the first out of the 1997 triple play vs. Toronto because I was headed to the restroom. - Prince with the improbable dive into 2B in the second inning. Too much else happened today for this play to make the video highlights, but it was amusing. - The walkoff and odd-but-funny celebration. I'm not typically a big fan of choreographed team antics, but maybe the Brewers are teaching me to lighten up. Also, the Brewers are now 15-10 in games I've attended. With five more on our schedule this year, they can't finish below .500 on my watch! Edit: Because you want to know...the triple play entry in Wikipedia has already been updated.
  18. Their team might win the World Series, but ours has a soul. The team celebration was the cherry on the top of a very enjoyable game and I refuse to even look at that stltoday thread, lest their opinions mar the fine day we had at the ballpark.
  19. Like Invader3K, I'm going to today's game, so here's an early IGT start. Could you try to avoid the sweep? For us? No lineup yet on JSOnline, but here's the banner ad atop the Brewers Blog: http://ads.yldmgrimg.net/apex/mediastore/a1b1cc72-c9a5-4c74-86c9-8ed4e9c965e9 I hope this is a reference to the start of school, and not a prelude to bench clearing nonsense.
  20. Why, thank you. Now our houseguest is here, so I'll have to pay attention to college football for a while. Go Brewers! I'd rather see a "rubber game" tomorrow than a "trying to avoid the sweep."
  21. I'm mildly devastated that the archived bf.net store page lacks graphics. Some of the descriptions I remember. But I'd love to see "SHOOT ME, JULIO." (Scroll way down)
  22. Interesting. Well, Stupid FOX / Stupid Sox I'll then reserve for sdcheezhd.
  23. Stupid FOX. Stupid Sox. There's my rhyme for you, saxyman1004.
  24. Hey, Ryan, market yourself further by hitting the milestone dinger on FOX. Just a thought.
