  1. Oh, I didn't get that promotion at all. (Gift card for $50 toward a Maytag product at Appliance World, three Milwaukee area locations) We went up to the terrace level guest relations to redeem the designated driver thing and this woman was moaning about how she'd somehow gotten in without receiving the gift card - why she would go upstairs to complain about it when there were 40,000 cards on the field level, I don't know. I offered her mine, since we don't live near enough to Milwaukee to justify shopping for major appliances there. She said thanks, then added, "But we each wanted one!" Ma'am, if you all came in and somehow missed the gift cards, I cannot help you. Incidentally, upon noticing the promotion a few days ago, I googled Appliance World in Milwaukee. Their reviews were pretty uneven. We were entertained by the Maytag man hanging around on the field before the game, then surprised when he sang the national anthem - quite beautifully. More weirdness (because I feel like this is my IGT): the night before this game I had some Brewers-related dream, the content of which I don't remember - but when I woke up my first thought was to check the terrace level fan zone Friday night, to see if the Alex Zumwalt game-worn spring training jersey was still available. It was. I didn't buy it, though. Maybe Sunday.
  2. Ah, geez, no one was available to start an IGT, or even missed it? My last chance at the computer before leaving work early Friday was like 2:00, which seemed a bit early to start the thread. Well, I was at the game and enjoyed it. One of my student employees, a Mets fan from New Jersey who had never been to a MLB ballpark outside New York, joined us and saw a nice game: good weather (roof open), adequate pitching and offense (if not a ton of the latter) and Trevor Time. I'm going to try to get her to rank the Brewers second to the Mets. Corey Hart finally broke away from country walkup music, but heck if I know what the new song is. Prince also wasn't using that Prote-J song written for him (which I actually now miss a bit). J.J. needs to change up his music. (If I'm going to provide 100% of the IGT content, we'll talk about what I want to talk about. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif )
  3. Just for one day, September 19, we should trade in our Prius and drive a Yarrrrrrris instead. It's the perfect name for a pirate car, for those landlubbing errands, don't you know.
  4. That makes me love the Original Pancake House even more than I already do.
  5. The problem with the now-banned jersey seller was that he misrepresented the product, specifying that they weren't cheap Asian knockoffs and that how soon he could ship depended on his trips to the post office...when they were being shipped from Hong Kong, and were in fact cheap knockoffs. Old School Snapper, I know your second post in this thread most likely contains a typo, but a jersey "with NLF Equipment tags and everything" sounds kind of like the jersey equivalent of a Ronex watch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Used the men's "facilities," did you? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. My nephew would be all over that. Sadly for this offer, he is 9 and cannot cross 3/4 of southern Wisconsin to visit Milwaukee on a school night.
  8. Fixed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And I wish I were exaggerating.
  9. Jo-dy Ger-ut (clap clap clap-clap-clap)! This'll make the trip to MP tomorrow night a little happier, despite the apparent SP choice of Narveson.
  10. What's bugging me...is people who call to complain about library fines, are told politely that an appeal process is available...then wait 4 1/2 months to file said appeal, and take the charming approach that the resulting delay was our fault. Here's a tip to you all: If you want to protest something like a library fine, do it promptly. When you wait to complain until you need a transcript or a registration change or more loans or whatever, it only reinforces the impression you've already made - that returning someone else's property on time wasn't important to you in the first place.
  11. You know it's bad when Jim Powell - who seems reasonably gentlemanly to me - only refers to him as Meltdown Bradley. Well, that's a play I'll definitely have to check on the replay (assuming there is one tonight).
  12. Just got back to the computer and barely missed Bob's call of the Prince triple. I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing how Meltdown Bradley played that. Edit: Now that I see Bush gave up two more runs with two outs...it makes me wonder, again, how one develops the ability to "finish the job," for lack of a better term. Whether it's difficulty getting the 3rd out in an inning (due to pitching and/or fielding woahs), a pitcher giving up a hit or walk after an 0-2 count on a hitter, or a team's offense scoring a bunch of runs early and then shutting down, the Brewers seem to have a hard time 'finishing the job.' I wonder what can be done to correct that.
  13. How about some two out magic, Jody? Edit: Like that! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. EDR, you and the fam will just have to make a pilgrimage to MP next year. You'll be parenting experts by then. (and bf.net can give you the VIP treatment...as soon as we determine just what that is)
  15. I noticed his comments too, but I missed the pre-game, so I don't know.
  16. Yeah, it's hard to hate on Mat given the opportunities he's had to be in live at-bats lately.
  17. Seriously, what kind of name is Koyie? For a grownup? much less a male?
  18. Well, I'm glad my selfish decision to have lunch didn't prevent the start of an IGT. Go Brewers! A few of our posters are at today's game and they deserve a nice show.
  19. What was the deal with the Soto error and subsequent awarding of 3B to Lopez? We weren't home yet for that inning. Edit: Never mind - I found an explanation in the jsonline blog.
  20. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Thanks for the tip, 47!
  21. I like his writing style as depicted in his blog.
  22. It's not like the Brewers are skyrocketing toward 80 wins with the current play-the-veterans strategy. They would have to go 13-5 the rest of the way.
  23. I'm discovering that a campus with flu-like symptoms going around is not a great place for a hypochondriac.
  24. which guy? Both guys, perhaps? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Edit: The chat room is currently populated - just saying.
  25. Here's hoping Piniella leaves him in for the 200 pitches or whatever he said in that recent sound bite.
