  1. I just (finally) saw the interview online. Gah, that shirt of his. Had they shown another inch or two of his chest, we could have seen the brand name written across in script and known specifically for ourselves what not to wear. I'm sure Ryan is compensated for it, though.
  2. Topping "The Knot" as well. Nice work, fellas. Nice work.
  3. Fans of UW athletics who have become dismayed by the Badgers' off year in many if not most high-profile sports should consider checking out women's hockey. We went to their 7-0 pasting of Ohio State on Saturday and had a great time. All seats are $5.00 (cheaper for kids and students) and general admission. There's a (smaller) band and (smaller) student section. The Badgers are coached by former Olympian and future Olympic coach Mark Johnson. And the lady Badgers rake on ice. What's not to love?
  4. I noticed the same thing. Come on, dude's off the team, put it behind you already.
  5. Upon reading the thread title, Robin19's remark is close to my first thought. Will Tampa's apparent addiction to ex-Brewers put them over the top in 2009?
  6. I voted again. They're still even. It's on, Todd and Mandy. It's on. (How long before the voting ends?)
  7. It didn't seem like the smoothest editing job ever (maybe they could have sprung for 90 minutes instead of condensing down to 60 minutes minus commercials), but I can think of worse ways to spend an hour.
  8. A history major? That seals the deal for me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Really, if we can't have "Bob and Jim," "Bob and Jeff" just sounds better to me than "Bob and Cory." The Brewers already have a Cor(e)y.
  9. Obviously Todd and Mandy suddenly have...help. Edit: And what they really need help with is spell checking!
  10. If I were a "diehard Cubs fan" and already were working for/with the Cubs, I'd be inclined to hunker down and wait until a successor to Santo is needed. Am I the only one who thinks something might be fundamentally wrong about hiring a diehard fan of one of your primary rivals to broadcast for your team?
  11. Mid-March seems about right. When we went to spring training in 2007, they were selling them at Maryvale in mid-March.
  12. Now I really hope Jim's still reading. You're free of Schneider National! Of course, you'll probably have to shill for Chick-fil-a or something."Peaches...they make it eeeeeeasy to be good." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. Tear. If you're still reading, Jim, you're too kind yourself. Again, good luck.
  14. Magic, Miracles and True Believers is the 1987 highlight video. Reaching for the Top is from 1988. And I'm sorry to sound like a schoolmarm, but 1992casey's right: we can't talk about homemade copies here. I don't think anyone wants Brewerfan to get cease-and-desist correspondence from a sharp-eyed copyright owner.
  15. Link to Capital Times story from Dennis Punzel. Presumably he had Doug's ear at the annual Dug-Out Club gathering last week in Madison. It's nice to see this much ink (or, since the Cap Times is now web-only, screen text) devoted to the Brewers, maybe especially coming from outside Milwaukee. (I thought about adding this to the arby raises thread, but the focus isn't so much on arbitration issues.)
  16. I hereby offer "my beer" to burniebrewer.
  17. The form to send in (for partial season customers, at least) is just for opening day tickets. To buy tickets to individual other games, there's an online pre-sale period running from 10:00 AM Monday, February 16 through 5:00 PM Friday, February 20. Season ticket customers log in with their account number. So that's a different procedure than in years past.
  18. Link to Brewers' press release You can register online for the opportunity to order up to four tickets for Opening Day, as well as for other marquee games (Cubs and White Sox series). The lottery runs from 10:00 AM January 28 (today, as I write this post) through Tuesday, February 17. From the link: The Brewers have not announced the date yet, but I'd expect it to be either February 21 or February 28.
  19. The S.O. is there, but we did not find a taker for the second ticket, so he has an expensive coat chair. But he's getting to see the Nankivil coming-out party in person.
  20. Erin Andrews fans might want to note that she'll be in Madison Tuesday to cover the UW-Purdue game. (If only any tickets for the game were available in the trading post forum...end shameless short-notice plug.)
  21. I've caught my traditional mid-winter upper respiratory bug and cannot attend the UW-Purdue game Tuesday night as originally planned. If one of you would like to go, and can go on short notice, you can sit with my S.O., toward the front of beautiful section 120 of the Kohl Center, conveniently located between the opponents' bench and the student section. If the only way we can make this work is to sell both tickets, then the S.O. is willing to forgo the game as well. Face value for each ticket is $26.00. A parking pass for the UW Health ramp (just south of the Kohl Center at Park/Regent Sts) is available as well. I am only interested in selling to someone who actually intends to attend the game. Please do not reply if you only intend to resell the ticket(s). Please send me a PM if you are interested. I can then tell you either how to get the ticket/tickets from the S.O. on campus Tuesday, or tell you how to get the tickets at our house, which is not far from downtown Madison. The game begins at 8:00 PM. If you need more reason to be interested in going... http://www.uwbadgers.com/photos/9877_2.jpg ...Erin Andrews is scheduled to be there, and she is often visible from these seats. Maybe she'll wear the knee length, six-inch-spike-heeled boots again. You never know.
  22. I'm in, and I don't imbibe, so you can get me a Minute Maid frozen lemonade at Miller Park this year. Our protagonist couple has gained some ground: 21% to the second-place 17% now. Jason and Stacy should have spell checked.
  23. Why does every cold I catch go right to my larynx and wipe out my voice?
  24. 1, as in J.J. is #1 in the hearts of many.
