  1. Your ex-roommate can also do the change-of-address thing online (though it costs $1.00 online).
  2. Well, the groups who have access so far include full-season customers, presumably some half-season customers, 20-pack customers who either opted for the Opening Day Plus package or included Opening Day in their fan's choice package, and 9-pack customers. Season ticket customers usually get first chance at tickets to additional games before single game tickets are available to the general public. That selection period is usually about mid-January through mid-February. That opportunity used to include opening day, although I just checked the mailing we received in January 2008 and opening day was not included last year. Last year, extra tickets for marquee games (Cubs and Twins) were also limited to four per game per customer. Then, remember that last February they had a lottery for the remaining home opener tickets, and supply was mostly tapped after the lottery.
  3. I swear, my first thought upon seeing this thread title was our generous fellow poster, Pedro. I don't want to see him in a transaction rumor or proposal. He's far too valuable an asset around bf.net nation. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. From the EC Leader story linked above: (emphasis added by me) So that's a pencil goatee, huh? ...but it used to be so much more. http://www.yardbarker.com/images/players/xt.fss-l.mlb.com-p.5405.gif
  5. For years I'd thought it would be neat to obtain a Brant Brown Cubs jersey and wear it to Brewers-Cubs games. Now I'm thinking maybe Bob Howry. But that kind of dig is not my personality, and I don't think I'd want to sink the expense into a cub piece of clothing anyway.
  6. It had occurred to me that Owen might at least have had to change his screen name (upon the parting of ESPN and 1070). If you're still reading, Owen, good luck to you.
  7. I haven't been a consumer of student financial aid in almost 20 years, but almost everyone I hire has work-study funding (i.e. among the neediest of the needy at UW). Just from that vantage point, I've seen numerous occasions where the graduation or other departure of a sibling from college has been a financial aid kiss-of-death. When a student employee notifies me that s/he has lost work-study funding, my first two questions are, "did you get a scholarship or grant?" and "did someone in your family finish or leave school?" The answer is usually yes to one of them. Assuming you weren't work-study eligible to begin with, Sam, I think your sister's graduation may well be the thing that changed the subsidization of your loans - even though it's not necessarily logical to assume that now that your sister is out of school, your parents automatically have thousands of dollars available specifically for your education.
  8. Ah, I'd forgotten to post this last week. One of the S.O.'s relatives asked the ticket office about opening day last month and got the same response. Well, the 9-packs (which include opening day; Russ is correct) go on sale Friday and are not expected to last long.
  9. Yeah, I have actually been reading the major leagues forum less often lately, in partial fear of the moment when I see a very sad update to the thread title. Another depressing thought: Could they land a successor in time for Talkin' Brewers to start, or would we have to stomach the Big Unit or other TMJ voice?
  10. I too would lean toward completing as much of the form as you can, as soon as you can.
  11. It delighted me to no end to see at least three guys sporting Brewers caps, and one wearing a Brewers sweatshirt, at the Kohl Center tonight.
  12. I worked at UWGB back in the day of Dick and Tony Bennett (and one of my all-time favorite names in basketball, Logan Vander Velden)...but I tend to root for Rob Jeter, too. So I probably won't be disappointed either way by this game.
  13. Yeah, after how close the Penn State game was, I wasn't going to assume anything tonight. But my fellas Jon Leuer and J-Bo each had a nice night. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. Check this thread for some reviews.
  15. Wow, I never thought of bensheeps as a Brock hater. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif But yeah, even after accounting for the presumed 2009 sausage bobble, there really aren't five obvious bobble candidates on the current roster. There isn't even a ready equivalent for last year's barrelman. I guess time will tell. If they find some bobble way to pay homage to the mid-90s logo, then we'll know they are hurting for ideas.
  16. I can't speak for jcr0nk, but the ticket order form for our fan's choice package lists all home games, and July 26 was one of the asterisked dates.
  17. I understand your point, and there is surely ample room for improvement in the realm of attracting/retaining talent around here; but I think the practical and nostalgic appeal of "going home" may be insurmountable in this case. As such, I don't know that I'd consider it as much of a Milwaukee/Wisconsin failure if JP does leave.
  18. The dates are listed as "all fan giveaways." It's possible that not all six dates will be bobblehead giveaways.
  19. The S.O. has gotten sucked into watching a marathon of Secret Life of the American Teenager today. I watched part of it and eventually realized that Molly Ringwald is playing a mom in the series. Not a teen mom, like in For Keeps, but a grownup mom. This just doesn't compute with me.
  20. Such a signing would certainly remind ESPN that the Brewers exist. But I don't think that's reason enough to even contemplate it.
  21. Yeah, I used the hockey tag to locate the thread.
  22. There's only one (forum-friendly) word needed to sum up that Northern Michigan series...ow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  23. But it means more if you go to Chalmers. (At least it means more to the Chalmers family.) Congratulations, JMF.
  24. I know the bf.net nation includes a few attorney types. A legal question has arisen in my family this week regarding liability for medical bills. If you are an attorney and can knowledgeably comment on that kind of issue, would you send a PM so I could explain it in more (but not mind-numbing) detail? Not to leave the rest of you out of it, but the topic is kind of a conversation stopper. And attorneys, I realize that you are not representing me and that any comments would not be "legal advice." Thanks very much.
  25. Indeed, happy new year to all. May we get what we need, and at least some of what we want.
