  1. True...but it was about A-Rod.
  2. That is awesome, but I hope it doesn't get her in hot water with the MLB Network.
  3. My Monroe Cheesemakers beat Madison Edgewood in girls' basketball tonight to advance to the state tournament. That'll teach those Edgewood kids to park so many late-model SUVs on our block that the refuse and recycling trucks can't get through.
  4. My guess is that fan's choice packages are mailed after set packages. Last year, our set tickets arrived a day or two before the fan's choice tickets.
  5. I enjoy Championship Week on ESPN. Watching the non-major conference battles are a lot of fun, even if you know they're pretty much playing for a 15/16 seed and a date for becoming UConn fodder. In fact, my new favorite chant when watching such epic matchups as Radford-VMI is "You're the play-in!" (clap clap clap-clap-clap) When we finally caved in and got cable back in 1993, it was installed just in time for the start of Championship Week, so we pretty much spent the first week of cable watching college hoops. That's probably how I got a soft spot for the week of conference championships.
  6. Is it my imagination, or is Corey getting kind of a mullet look?
  7. Aw, man, are we going to have to park in 'Tosa or something? This is a bit more meaningful to those of us coming from outside Milwaukeeland.
  8. So, you 20-game customers who have already received your tickets...how close to Milwaukee are you? (Trying to figure out how soon our packages will reach Madison...)
  9. I've got work covered for the 14th now, so as long as we all stay healthy and an ice storm doesn't hit on the 14th, the hawing party is in. I know you were all waiting for my confirmation, and the RSVPs will now pour in.
  10. http://photos-e.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-snc1/v832/152/108/1404434242/n1404434242_140556_6937.jpg Based on this photo I took last fall (first pitch of NLDS game 3), I think the 1982 banner/sign thingy is unchanged and the object to the left is part of the steelwork. I'm a wee bit jealous of those teachers for getting to hang out at Miller Park today, though.
  11. Somehow, the notion of "Australia vs. Brewers" makes me think of Bart Simpson: http://media.urbandictionary.com/image/page/knifey-spoony-6582.jpg Australian with Spoon: You call that a knife? [the man pulls out a spoon[/i]] Australian with Spoon: *This* is a knife. Bart: [confused[/i]] That's not a knife, that's a spoon. Australian with Spoon: Alright, alright you win. I see you've played knifey-spoony before. Sorry, carry on. Go Brewers.
  12. Here's a link to an FDA list of products recalled because of the peanut/peanut butter problem.
  13. For the purposes of the Trading Post rules, we have decided to define "face value" as the dollar amount that is printed on a ticket. The rules were updated on March 4 to reflect this.
  14. Nothing's like that seat next to the wall of the elevator shaft at County Stadium. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. It's ironic that you have to pump so much $$ into the cooling system during winter.
  16. I just looked at the NWS radar and can only say, "wow," because on radar it looks like just a little thin light blue thing over Milwaukee County.
  17. Your pictures are taking me right back to March 2007 (our only ST trip, to date, she said hopefully). Thanks, even though I'm now wishing we could go this year.
  18. Last year the tickets for one of our packages arrived in Madison on March 11. The other package was probably delivered a day or two later. Thus, I think "mid-March" is about right. I agree, we're getting to the hardest part (for those not going to Arizona) - the season's within reach but not quite yet. Patience, grasshopper. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. That's a bummer. (Though I have to admit, I'm surprised that he was "only" 90.)
  20. In this case, it's more like about eight hours, on an off-season weekend, between the lead post and reply 3. I can understand your eagerness for an opening day ticket possibility, but I think I'd give it more time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I heard most of this afternoon's game (though I managed to just miss the HR call), and I agree with pitchleague exactly. Cory sounds loud. Or maybe it was more that JP had kind of an understated tone. It could be simply today's small sample, or something he'll move away from as he gets more than a few Brewer games under his belt...or maybe we'll get used to it. If you all will excuse me for being the spelling-head for a moment...when it comes to current Brewers personnel, Corey Hart uses an "e" in his name. Cory Provus has no "e." That said, I admit to having begun to type "Corey" for "Cory" all afternoon on Wednesday. I think I may call our new announcer CP instead.
  22. 104,000 tickets sold today (new record) From the linked brewers.com story: Also, it looks like at least one Brewerfan poster may have been quoted in the story. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. We took a tour of Chase Field during our spring training visit in 2007. The timing wasn't ideal, because they were rushing to complete the D-Backs' color scheme changeover (from purple-and-teal to sedona-red-and-black), and as a result some sections normally on the tour weren't available. But that shouldn't be a factor anymore.
  24. The last time I brought a "senior citizen" to a game was in 2000, and the age minimum then was 60.
