  1. Yep, there were jerseys. $75 each, limit of two.Ah, nuts. Were there any decent names, or just the parade of early 2000's has-beens/never-weres that they have been offering for several On Deck sales?
  2. We had to pass this time - the S.O.'s just getting over a cold and I appear to be just starting one. That made the notion of driving from Madison in pretty cold weather unappealing. Bikeage77, did you notice if the rummage sale had any jerseys?
  3. which is funny because the letter said 4, but the order form said 2.I just reread the letter. Available to partial season seat holders are: - Two tickets to Opening Day (return the order form so the Brewers receive it by February 6) - Up to four tickets to other marquee games (excluding Opening Day) at non-marquee retail prices - Up to twelve tickets to any of the 80 home games (excluding Opening Day), at regular individual game prices. The purchasing period for the non-opening day games is February 16-20, online at brewers.com, and can only be done once per account - i.e. no logging back in to add another game. I cannot tell whether the "twelve tickets" offer means twelve tickets per game, or twelve additional tickets total over the course of the season. If it's the former, the "four tickets to marquee games" and the "twelve tickets to any of the 80 home games" seem to be conflicting offers.
  4. Thanks for the recap. I was wondering how it went. Does anyone recall whether there were plans to show this on FSN?
  5. Yeah, when I really want to freshen up the disposal, I measure maybe 1/4 cup of baking soda, add a few drops of lavender oil and one drop of tea tree oil (Don't listen to Katuluu, tea tree oil is antiseptic and when combined judiciously with another scent, preferable to the odor of dead squirrels); then add 1/4-1/2 cup of vinegar, mix and pour down the disposal, then run it with hot water. You manly types might not be so much into lavender scent, but orange or lemon works just fine.
  6. I'd like to go to the On Deck thing, but I'm not sure it's worth $40 + parking, in the cold, coming from Madison, to probably find more $200 batboy jerseys at the rummage sale. (UNLESS we go late in the event, when they maybe cut prices to move things...) This is definitely small potatoes compared to other things that have happened this month, but it bugs me right now.
  7. I usually have success with baking soda + hot water down the disposal. Sometimes I add a few drops of essential oil (lavender, tea tree or orange) to the baking soda first.
  8. Are they at the DoIT tech store? At least that's a place you can visit.
  9. And season ticket holders are limited to two "extra" tickets each for the home opener.
  10. Like fortheloveofweeks, I might mess up the study results. I was born in late February (the Brewers' first ST game is on my birthday this year!) but I am definitely a four-seasons person. Somehow, by the end of each season, I'm ready for the next. I don't know why that is the case. In terms of extreme weather, if I have to pick one I'd choose really cold weather over heat/humidity. Humidity really wears me out.
  11. If we're going to or from a Brewer game (and within range of Hartford), it's polka, polka, polka. It's the happiest music on earth.
  12. This thread from a few weeks ago touched a bit on Badger basketball ticket availability. And maybe since they're now 3-3 in the conference, tickets will become a bit easier to find.
  13. Jordan Taylor, forcing OT in Iowa with his first career 3-pointer. Now, if only UW could do something with that momentum...
  14. Tear. The only consolation I've got at the moment is that I was disappointed when Pat Hughes left too, and that turned out all right (eventually). This hurts, Brewer-fan wise, but speaking as someone who once changed jobs to "go home," I can see why you're doing it, Jim. Thank you and best wishes.
  15. It would be interesting to know what percentage of 2008 ticket sales (or really the sales of any year) was made up of walk-up traffic. I doubt the Brewers will ever disclose that.
  16. Here is the brewers.com information about the overall event. I'm a little torn yet. We haven't ordered tickets in advance because I was reluctant to have $30 go down the drain in case of disruptive winter weather on the 24th. I'm usually all about the Brewers Charities Rummage Sale and the memorabilia vendors. But $40 at the door means $40 less available to spend on whatever merchandise is available. I assume the parking is not free at the Midwest Airlines Center, which just adds to the cost of the day. I think we'll decide on Saturday whether to go. I'd call the Brewers' ticket office at 414-902-4100, or their main number (414-902-4400) to see if it's possible to buy On Deck tickets at Miller Park.
  17. Remember, TLB, Ben Sheets named his second kid after the last names of two catchers (Miller Bennett). So what you were looking for is something like Fielder Sabathia Rigdon. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif But let me add my congratulations to the chorus.
  18. "Going out of business" stores are always depressing to visit, and the west Madison location of Circuit City today was no exception. It was quite picked over already. As a silver lining, though, the guys working the registers didn't seem to care what we paid for things, so we were given discounts much deeper than the posted 10%. I could see their point. What's going to happen if they undercharge us on a universal remote? The company goes bankrupt and they all lose their jobs?
  19. I'd like to agree with you, steve267268, but I don't know that my faith in the "booing" subset of the Brewers' fanbase is that great.
  20. If you happen to subscribe to the print edition of the Janesville Gazette, would you send me a PM? I'd like to have the paper clipping (not just an internet printout) of an item that should appear in Monday's edition. Thanks.
  21. Ah, geez, you're right: Big Dave Mader = J Cheezy Jason Chappell = Keaton Nankivil...in terms of how they were/are used, at least. Thanks. My hoops IQ will be raised some day, I know it.
  22. I've been wondering what motivates Bo to start Keaton Nankivil but have him only play the first 2-4 minutes of each half. Is Leuer only effective (when he's effective) off the bench? Is Keaton a tip-off specialist? Again, I'm not strong on basketball strategy at all, but that seems like an odd pattern of use.
