STL as an option might honor the "letter of the law," but there is no way that would be a truly neutral site. I hope MLB looks at the broader playoff picture and relocates MIL/MIA to a site where the local fans wouldn't have an obvious rooting interest. -

Throughout August, Madison has gradually filled with returning and new college students. The latter group often has parents (or whole families!) accompanying them. The newbies tend to stand out for a variety of reasons, but the thing that gets me is the parents - usually moms - who dress like they're trying to blend in on campus, as if they were still traditional student age. It rarely works.

Or Keon robbing Rizzo in the exact same spot last year. I didn't have live video access and I kept missing parts of live audio due to work. I tweeted Lane Grindle after the game asking him to describe the play that everyone was raving about, and he said it was like Keon's rob of Rizzo last year. Once I did see video, I too thought it might have hit the wall just under the yellow line, had Keon not intervened. But it's very good to not have to care deeply about that, because dude made the catch.

Eclipse glasses hoopla. It seems like a ton of people just realized in like the last ten days that (1) there's an eclipse a-comin', and (2) HEY WE SHOULD GET ECLIPSE GLASSES. Which are sold out everywhere. In particular, our Madison neighborhood has an email list, and the same neighbors who are chronically behind on things** have spent the last few days asking if anyone has an extra pair (or multiple extra pairs) of eclipse glasses. Plus all this hype, and it's supposed to be cloudy here all day tomorrow. **What kind of things, you ask? Things like looking for a graduation gown for their kid, THE NIGHT BEFORE HE GRADUATES HIGH SCHOOL. I mean, you had no idea that was coming up?
