  1. C'mon, Luis Rivas. (Edit: Bah, that was their best chance.)
  2. Everybody shout, Let's Go Bucs!
  3. Thanks! (I'm not sure I'm bowled over by the Daily Rewind Game Recap format, but that's not for bf.net to resolve.)
  4. Amid the "remodeling" done for the 2008 season at MLB websites, I can't tell anymore how to (or whether I can) view video highlights from games older than the most recent - like Saturday's game, instead of just Sunday's. Is this possible anymore without subscribing to something?
  5. I think I would respond with a brief polite golf clap. However, I would not be disappointed if "Take the Money and Run" were played as he entered. Like others, I ultimately would prefer that he not be needed this series.
  6. On a different note, I passed Trenni Kusnierek in the concourse. In person her hair does not look as freakishly blond as it did on TV on Friday.
  7. Yep, 217. Looking at the ball dents in the wall behind that whole loge infield area, we knew to bring a glove, and we almost had cause to use it yesterday. Someone's foul caromed off the wall below the press box and ricocheted down the middle of the section, but not quite where we were. Those seats are nice and I am looking forward to more games there.
  8. Now I'm hungry for a grilled cheese sandwich. Edit: Like this one: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Z3P06JG7L.jpg
  9. That is a charming ad. During the national anthem, the starters stand in the field with the kids who won the Culver's 'stand on the field' contest. The videoboard showed each player-kid pair during the anthem, and while Prince was on camera, he looked down at the first-base kid in a most charming way. It was kind of an "awwww!" moment. (And it's not just me being an emotional female, as the S.O. remarked on the same thing after the game ended.)
  10. Gilles Frozen Custard. Cone or dish, fancy sundae, shake-it-up or malt-it-down. Also, the occasional Bud sighting. I'm sure I'll think of something else, but that's a no-brainer. Edit: I already did: Dean Rosko's organ concerts. Many a morning this past record-setting winter, as I waited for the bus in the record-setting snow, I'd pass the time by humming to myself some of the songs he plays before games, like Mamma Mia or Safety Dance. If he made a CD I'd be sure to buy it.
  11. You guys are too kind. The vast majority of you haven't even seen me in Brewers gear! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  12. What a fun game! It took about one batter to see that Ben was "on." The loge crowd around us was appreciative and into the game from the start, which was nice. In the terrace, I often find myself starting the "slow claps" but in the loge today I rarely had to do that. We all know there are always "fans" who stay just long enough to get the bobblehead, but I didn't notice many empty seats today. (The bobbles could have benefited from a little more quality control, but that's not exactly news, and is also being discussed elsewhere.) In the back of my mind I remind myself that it's only been six games, with three against a pretty crappy looking team, but since I'm clearly still in the "giddy that the season's here" stage, I have no problem enjoying the last few wins just for what they are: a few nice days at the ballpark. I wish we could use our Thursday tickets. Day job? Yuck!
  13. This is an interesting thread (again, not to make light of anyone's ticket woes). Looking over the day's posts... Princeginterhallhelms04, I'd ask about the obstructed view games if I were you. If they are for popular dates, like marquee games or all fan giveaways, your chances of making a move may not be so good, but if they aren't, a change might be possible. There could be a 'waiting list' for changes and perhaps you could get on it - in case another customer makes a change somewhere else along the line. It sounds like Blancofan1 got a dud for a rep. (Not that you need to be told that.) We've had the same rep since at least 2001, so I don't have experience with anyone else. Twobrewers, I would like to know what seats you think are best in the entire terrace reserved. I won't take them or anything; I'd just like to know your opinion. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Like twobrewers and bb4life, we have had very few problems as season ticket customers, despite not being huge spenders. I'm surprised that experiences among forum members (not that big a subset of the Brewers' customers) vary so widely. After another easy ticket exchange before today's game, I wondered about what the difference could be and came up with little besides luck. For our package, I'm sure it makes a difference that we regularly request the family section; and maybe our 'value' to the organization took a leap this off-season after we purchased the second, pre-selected 20 game package. Otherwise, I don't know. Touching a bit on one of ewizabeff's posts (and I guess twobrewers too), we have been relatively proactive in requesting seat locations and asking our ticket rep for status checks and updates. Back in one of the crummy years, I think 2003, on an extra-low attendance night we tested seats throughout our terrace box and I made notes on which locations gave the best overall view of the field. When that season ended, I emailed our rep ranking the locations. That looks like a pretty dorky approach now that it's typed out, but we've had virtually the same seats ever since. To follow the letter of the fan's choice law (seat location not guaranteed), we switch back and forth between two rows. Every off-season, I email our rep saying we'd like to keep our current seats for as many games as is possible. This year we have two in a different part of our section (both for popular games). Our loge package is in a section we'd had our eyes on since MP opened. Our rep was pretty plain in saying that if we wanted a package there, it would have to be a preset plan (this was early in MP, before the current wave of popularity). Last October we asked about adding the package and he got us seats on the aisle. The location was confirmed shortly before the mid-November early renewal deadline. This all makes me curious to know two things: one, how much has the base of season ticket holders increased? (remember that the Brewers offered 2007 postseason tickets to those who placed 2008 season ticket deposits) and two, how do the Brewers prioritize season ticket customers? They may eventually release information that at least partially answers the former question. The latter they'll probably keep secret.
  14. If for some reason I were no longer allowed to eat "real" brats, I could do all right with Boca Brats.
  15. The only concession I got was finally this year my tickets are less than a new season ticket member. Not to take away from Baldkin's original plight, but geez, Robin. I think even our wee terrace box fan's choice package has always been discounted (at least vs. "face value"). Until the 9- and 4-packs came along, I always figured we were probably the Brewers' most small-time season ticket customer.
  16. Today's the first game in our loge level package. Woohoo! Cup holders! I thought I'd wear my old-school Power 50 T-shirt, since it has a bf.net logo on the back - for the .0001% chance of a Jim Powell notice and mention (since we are sitting in front of the press area).
  17. I share your wife's pain. It bugs me, too, that I have to opt for ill-fitting men's T-shirts because I'm not a skinny "junior." I haven't been all over looking, but so far I've noticed no improvement in stores like Penney's. (The department stores in Madison don't have enough Brewers stuff.) I do have a Brewers hoodie that I really like. I had to get XL in order for it to fit the way I wanted, but I wear it a lot. It's retro blue and has a little ball-glove logo. The zipper is a bit flimsy, but there happens to be a business in my neighborhood that fixes zippers - I figure if it fails, I'll just have them replace it. The hoodie was $55.00, but I think I've gotten my money's worth out of it the last two seasons. (Also, it was a gift.) I was in the Fan Zone Saturday and the hoodie is still available. And I realize your wife may not want to pimp the website, but the bf.net store has women's (not just juniors) clothing. Those have worked well for me.
  18. No beef jerky, razzzorsharp? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. It does seem like the "fan's choice was popular, sorry if you don't like your surprise new location" thing came out of nowhere, doesn't it? There was a letter in our fan's choice package explaining just this. I can see how it would be extra vexing to feel set up for an expectation of better seats, then find out the opposite. That might be worth mentioning to your rep, provided it was he/she who hinted at better seats. Even if it doesn't improve your lot for this year, maybe they'll consider a different approach next off-season. We managed to avoid relocation with our package, I'm guessing because we request family section seats every year (and there's only one family section in the terrace box). We also have been fan's choice customers since the mid-1990s, but I don't know how big a role loyalty plays. We also got two packages this year, one a Sunday pack (which has taken care of the all-fan promotions) - so for the fan's choice games we selected are mostly games during the week and presumably less in demand. I realize this would not be the solution for everyone. As for what we are going to do with 40 games...we can't go to all of them, coming from a few counties away. We are hoping to be able to spread the wealth with family, friends and perhaps even bf.netters. In today's mail we got a flyer from the Brewers inviting us to put tickets we can't use for sale on Stubhub (starting Monday, which doesn't help us too much with Thursday's game - but I digress).
  20. When we took the tour of Chase Field in Phoenix last year, we saw they had grow lights set up near parts of the field that don't naturally get a lot of sun (despite being in the Valley of the Sun). I wondered at the time why MP doesn't try something like that. Of course, better-growing natural grass would be just as wrecked by a tractor pull. (I hope Mark A. doesn't think that everyone in Wisconsin is craving a tractor pull in Miller Park.)
  21. I didn't see the video at Saturday's game, and there's no indication it was shown on Friday. So we may have to reshelve this discussion for another day.
  22. The "first pitch" outdoor temperature reported at today's game was 60 degrees (69 indoors). As we walked from our car to the stadium, we both felt like the temperature was nice enough to try for the open roof, but the wind was strong enough to be noticeable. We both recalled hearing or reading that it was inadvisable to move the roof panels during windy weather. Our recollection could be wrong, but that's why I figured the roof was closed, and I didn't have a problem with it.
  23. I have to admit, I wasn't at all pumped up to see Gagne take the mound. I could tell the Brewers wanted me to be excited, with their special Gagne videoboard graphics and "Welcome to the Jungle" blasting on the PA system. The crowd (as far as I could hear from my vantage point) also seemed relatively non-committal as he warmed up (though I'll take non-committal over booing). But in today's outing, he looked alllll right to me. I noticed at least one 94 on the stadium speed pitch display. I'd love for the day to come when Miller Park is rockin' every time Eric makes an appearance. For now, I've got hope, and more than I had after Monday's game. Corey's savvy baserunning to score that first run was super sweet to see in person. From our terrace box location we had a fine vantage point; he knew just when to tap the plate with his foot. Presumably all the local news stations will just replay the homeruns (which were also enjoyable), but I might have enjoyed Corey's play the most. Watching those guys run out onto the field today (and then the 8 or so redshirted employees descend upon them), I think that was the first time I've ever seen someone get clotheslined. We were hoping we wouldn't have to pin a loss on the runners, in case the hubbub they created was enough to distract David Riske (and it almost seemed to do so). Above all, I was very happy just to be back in the park today. It's as if all's right with the world. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. I know someone named Rick Roll. I wonder if he knows about rickrolling. Unfortunately, I don't know him well enough to ask.
  25. I saw that on the broadcast and mentioned it in the chat. I was quite surprised that he said it twice. I half wondered if it was some kind of prank or dare.
