  1. Sort of, except that we face a pretty impressive list of SPs in the next week and a half. What season was it when the Brewers improbably stepped up against several 'big-time' SPs? Wasn't that recent? I'm thinking '05 based on my memories of that fan fest game vs. Johan Santana. Anyway, just saying.
  2. Season tickets can be exchanged for one of 56 selected home games. The only eligible games left are Sept. 24-28 (Monday-Friday next week), and since this is subject to availability, even some of those games may no longer be available for an exchange. You have to do the exchange at least 48 hours in advance of the game date on the original tickets, and there is a $1.00 service fee for each ticket exchanged. If you aren't a season ticket customer, I don't know what (if anything) applies, especially this late in the season. At least you could sell them yourself, if the Brewers continue to draw a lot of interest by next week.
  3. Congrats, and obviously the baby understands your circumstances and is being as accomodating as possible. I'd expect nothing less than a good 'organizational soldier' attitude from any young Luzinski. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif
  4. Russ, upon seeing your thread title I figured you were posting from the hospital because things are underway NOW. Anyway - I'll add to the chorus: 1. Hope all goes well with baby and mom; and 2. Hope the timing works with the rest of your life. In that order. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif (If I win "beer for a year" at Fan Appreciation Night/Day/Whatever it becomes, I'll save it for you.)
  5. With all the photoshopping skill on this forum, surely someone can portray Dave Bush as a swashbuckling pirate (small p). With his beard he should be able to pull that off. Dear Brewers: Let's go 1-0 today. You know you're capable. Lots of love, hawing
  6. http://www.jrj-socrates.com/Cartoon%20Pics/Fox/Simpsons/Sea_Captain_300.gif "Y'arr, 'tis no man. 'Tis a remorseless eatin' machine." (said about Homer)
  7. Y'arrr, 20fry be deservin' of a rim shot! 'Tis International Talk Like a Pirate Day, every 19th o' September. One o' my library school classmates has his birthday today and never lets us forget. Avast and ahoy!

  9. This thread is not raising my spirits. Just saying. Doesn't mean you can't carry on.
  10. I got to work this morning and found a Robin Yount bobble (the Friday night giveaway) on my desk. My student must have gotten a ticket after all.
  11. The four-letter franchise to Milwaukee's south.

  13. I emailed the Brewers in 2004 after sitting through an open-roof game which at the time seemed chilly. The response I got stated that they use 60 degrees as a guide for temperature. On the night in question, the temperature stayed in the mid-60s (this was mid-June) and they kept the roof open. The temperature on Saturday may have reached the low 60s around tailgating time, but I doubt it got much higher, and was due to get a good bit lower over the course of the evening. I'm not averse to wearing layers to a game (we did it a zillion times prior to 2001), but I appreciated knowing the Brewers' "rule of thumb." Now we at least have an idea of whether to bring layers when we travel from Madison.
  14. http://danielcontarelli.files.wordpress.com/2006/10/6millxmas.jpg In case you can't read the details in the graphic above, the "4 exciting Christmas adventures" are The Toymaker, The Kris Kringle Caper, Elves Revolt, and Christmas Lights. Yeah, that's just weird. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/pics/bill_spiers_autograph.jpg
  15. Venting is fine in this designated thread, but please try to keep your vents about baseball and the Brewers and not each other. Incidentally, each post has an Interact drop down menu in the lower left corner. One of the menu choices is "Ignore User's Posts." So that option happens to be available.
  16. I'd be surprised if the sleep clinic staff weren't prepared for most every odd sleeping possibility (like tossing and turning, maybe even enough to yank off a monitor, or not being able to sleep for thinking about being monitored). If you were sleeping 'normally', you wouldn't be one of their patients.
  17. Yeah, ironically 20fry was in a tailgate group next to ours, and just happened to catch a glimpse of Brian and put things together. We are glad you stopped by.
  18. Well, they were 5-0 in fanfest games, over franchise history, prior to Saturday night. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif Another quality outing by the bf.net crowd. We enjoyed seeing (and in some cases meeting) each of you, the game wasn't irreparably 'Yosted', and the Cardinals helped a bit. Prince breaking the franchise season HR record was probably the main magic of the night. We sat out by the RF fair pole and were in decent position to watch that one sail into the picnic section. Unfortunately, if we had daily fan fests, they would cease to be special. But as always, we look forward to the next one. Good work, y'all.

  20. Fun fact: In our 20 game pack, we somehow managed to see every starter except Jeff Suppan, until June 27. Since June 27, Soup has been the starter at six of the eight games on the hawing ticket. Tonight will be the seventh of nine, and the fifth in a row. Soup enters tonight's game with a 9-11 record and 4.74 ERA. Kirk Saarloos sports a record of 1-4 and an ERA of 7.39. The Brewers are 5-0 in franchise history when the bf.net Fan Fest is in the house. What magic will the Fan Fest bring to tonight's game? Follow it and see.
  21. Drink a cool one for both of us and bring us a victory! It's supposed to drop to 32 degrees in Madison tonight and there's a freeze warning to our west. So, no problem on the "cool one." http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif As for the victory, we'll do what we can. The Brewers are 5-0 lifetime in fan fest games. Soon, God, make it soon.
  22. The brownies are ready to roll, too.
  23. And the ticket office is really polite and nice, they totally were ok with my stupid questions. I'll chime in to agree. One of my employees called them Tuesday morning, hoping to get two seats together for Friday night's game. As he put it, "they found a very nice way to basically say, 'are you crazy?'"
  24. If I didn't mention bees/stinging insects before, yeah, they scare me too. My primary fear related to them is not finding out I'm deathly allergic until I'm stung and it's too late. Also, I am uncomfortable in elevators. I don't think it's claustrophobia; more a worry about either getting stuck or a cable breaking and the car plummeting down. That my workplace has some very old-school elevators doesn't help. One of my recurring dreams is getting in an elevator and having it get stuck, turn sideways, or otherwise not get me where I want to go. And my all-time most common recurring scary dream is being caught somewhere unsafe with a tornado (or tornadoes) on the way. The sirens or other warnings sound, I turn to see - oh no! - the funnel or funnels, and I wake up. I'm surprised I didn't think of that one when I first posted in this thread. I know I'm not the only one on this forum who's bothered by severe storms/tornadoes.
  25. I'm hopeful. Don't let up, Brewers. Imagine a 4-2 road trip.
