  1. No, the summary is just that princebecomesking is a tad... bitter. Thanks, but I don't need a Y chromosome to get that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I guess I lack the fascination that many of you have for reading the train wreck threads over there.
  2. It's great, it's like whack-a-mole with threads. You mean, whack-a-troll. Is this like a virtual rumble between forum tribes or something? Do I need a Y chromosome to get it?
  3. I don't have first-hand experience since I'm not a parent, but my 7-year-old nephew plays in Wiota (SW Wisconsin). He was playing catch with my brother (his dad) and my S.O. on the 4th of July and looked good to me. And he's a lefty, I might add. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Clearly, it is time to replace all of the pictures on the About Us page. You fellas get this: http://minimateheadquarters.com/fujis/ComicBookGuy.jpg For me, you may use Crazy Cat Lady, as long as you photoshop the gray cat to look orange and white (to resemble my real life cats): http://cache.gawker.com/news/upload/2006/07/simpsons_CrazyCatLady.jpg
  5. Actually, "lot 60" isn't the catch-all, relatively inexpensive option it used to be. It's shrinking gradually due to expansion of the medical buildings on that end of campus.
  6. Has there been any update on Ben? I don't think I heard one word about him on the radio broadcast today. Though I didn't hear everything due to fans cheering.
  7. We parked in the resurfaced Giants lot today (the backup north lot, marked Rockies, has not been resurfaced). It did seem hotter after the game, but that space really was overdue for an improvement, so I can live with it. It's beautiful and dark, and much more level than before, and the parking space lines are not only visible again (!), but were redrawn at a new angle. Parked vehicles now face Helfaer Field more than Miller Park proper. It also seemed like there was a bit more room between lines - which was good news for us, as we were parking our new car there for the first time and didn't want a MP ding in the first two weeks of ownership. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. If you're my S.O., who was rooting for the Chorizo in today's race...the Chorizo was robbed. Robbed! by the Polish. He's got to remember that the kid relay component in the Sunday races is the wild card, and you really need to look at the mini sausage racers before you pick your team. Anyway. The Chorizo is sold on the Terrace Level, at the concession stand next to the Kids Fan Zone. I had one today, just to try it, and while I think I prefer a brat (when I'm in the mood for seasoned sausage to begin with), it was just fine.
  9. Yeah, sorry, Brian: http://www.discomusic.com/images/uploads/brooklynexpress-sixtynine.jpg You've got to tread carefully with those "sixty-nine" image searches. I'm with splitter, I'll take what we got today. I was pleasantly surprised to see Soup not only help his own cause with the bat, but to last (even just a bit) into the 7th. It was also good to see so many of Ned's dice rolls work out. Sorry, Ned, but you know that's what it comes down to. I am still mildly stunned to think of Mench with a triple - made me think of SgtClueLs! - and perhaps especially his near collision with the pitcher when he scored his run. Our terrace box seats provided an excellent view from above on the ball popping loose, apparently by sheer Mench Force. Mench Force? How did I get the opportunity to coin that phrase? Anyway, I'm glad it worked out and hope for some success vs. the D-backs, including success against Sharpie on Wednesday. I'm about 98% into my acceptance stage. Other game notes: This won't matter much to the rest of you, but the PA speakers that serve section 417 are WORKING AGAIN. They'd been delivering only muffled sounds since the mid-2003 or 2004 season. We commented to the guest relations staff and emailed the front office, but accepted what we thought was our fate sometime in '05. I don't know what they tweaked during this last roadtrip, but today we could hear everything clearly. Also - it was good to see TooLiveBrew outside the park, and especially to meet Principessa21. No offense, TLB, but we weren't meeting you for the first time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Edit: And there were SOOOUUUP chants today! Has there been reason for fans to do that at Miller Park this year? (Today was only the second time we've seen a Suppan start in person.)
  10. Being at least as dorky as brewers19, I sometimes read his summer-replacement blog (the link to which is available from his link above). When I do, I think of the Simon and Garfunkel classic At the Zoo: Someone told me It's all happening at the zoo. I do believe it, I do believe its true. Its a light and tumble journey From the east side to the park; Just a fine and fancy ramble to the zoo. But you can take the crosstown bus If its raining or its cold, And the animals will love it if you do. Something tells me It's all happening at the zoo. The monkeys stand for honesty, Giraffes are insincere, And the elephants are kindly but they're dumb. Orangutans are skeptical Of changes in their cages, And the zookeeper is very fond of rum. Zebras are reactionaries, Antelopes are missionaries, Pigeons plot in secrecy, And hamsters turn on frequently. What a gas! you gotta come and see At the zoo. You could have a MIDI file of At the Zoo playing whenever someone displays your blog. Or maybe not.
  11. Who comes in during the 6th tomorrow? Whoever comes in during the 6th on Sunday, I hope he's relieving Suppan and not the guy who relieved Suppan in an even earlier inning. Jeff, feel free to prove me wrong.
  12. I have to admit, as much as my head tells me to save Yo's innings for the late season and/or postseason, my heart wouldn't mind seeing him in for longer, starter-type stretches. And hey, what if Ned's PH decision lights a fire under Rickie? Just saying it's possible.
  13. I think there might even be a chorizo purchasing option in the terrace level. If I think to look on Sunday, I'll post back.
  14. No numerical expression of '32' is complete without my man, the Polar Bear! http://www.pdc.k12.wi.us/koenig/Brad%20Gilberts/DP%20Web%20Page/butch.jpg
  15. I'll take the win, that was the greatest garbage pop fly of all time. Yeah, splitter, a much nicer birthday present than Ben's finger injury. It sucks to have your favorite athletic event go sour on your birthday (I should know - I watched Brian Butch hurt his elbow at Columbus on mine).
  16. fsn didn't even show the homer, they were on commercial. that is what happens when you cut out mid at-bat. fsn i hate you. Sorry to chime in a bit late, but on FSN in Madison we saw Corey's HR at bat without interruption. Just saying. This was with Charter.
  17. For some reason, I have a feeling about that we are going to win this game. I appreciate the optimism. But if the Brewers win tonight while losing Ben, every media outlet will use the tired old "won the battle but lost the war?" cliche.
  18. Hopefully now that I am back at it the Crew will get back at it! wOOgiE, if your "return" prompts a win streak, you're doing this for life. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Turn the switch back on, Brewers. I want to see a 'rubber game' Sunday, not an 'avert the sweep' attempt.
  19. Dear baseball gods: Please don't keep this thread stuck on 33 for a week. Thank you. Respectfully, hawing
  20. my short cut to matin work orders get me a errr that missing files or ex but i can go to aothor comper and i get the promble is on wtw120 What is that supposed to mean? I think you work with the original WOAH SOLVDD poster. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I always look for spinach at Subways. Fresh spinach on a sub is great. I've been bugged in the past, though, by Subways whose staff tell me that spinach is an extra-cost vegetable, when there's a section of the wall menu that lists extra-cost veggies and spinach does not appear on it.
  21. If it's okay with the mods I'll post the link and the nature of the deal. Thanks for thinking of us, bthurley; but in the spirit of wanting to stay on the Brewers' good side, we're thinking please hold off for now. If we can get clearance from the ticket office in time for it to make a difference, we'll let you know.
  22. Good news that I didn't see posted anywhere else. It's not a high ankle sprain like was first report, and he hopes to return very, very soon. I heard on the radio this morning that he was already walking on it, which was a happy surprise. Still, I won't mind if he's out a little longer than the minimum DL stint. I'd just like to be sure he's healed.
  23. Yeah, I didn't see that moment live, but I remember the newspaper and TV coverage the next day. The thing that struck me most at the time was the two guys who ran out on the field and joined Aaron for part of his trot around the bases. I was eight years old and didn't really get into baseball for another eight years, so for this much to stick in my memory is pretty decent. Either way, it was still 33 years ago...just not precisely 33 years. Wasn't it in July that Aaron hit #755? (in 1976)
  24. Apparently the pregame coverage on Sunday 7/15 will include a (live) segment with Craig Coshun at the Wisconsin Historical Museum, promoting the exhibit. So if you can't get to Madison, but have access to Brewers Live on FSN Wisconsin, there's a chance to see some of the exhibit on TV Sunday.
  25. Well, I'm ready for this break from games to end. May our hopes continue to be met. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
