  1. Yeah, it was a barrel of fun driving back to Madison. We heard about the warnings for Jefferson (thunderstorm) and Grant (tornado) and stopped to eat before leaving town. Still, we were caught in torrential rain just east of Madison, about a half hour ago. We slowed way down and drove with flashers, in part because so many drivers had pulled over that there wasn't much space left for pulling over.
  2. I agree that the craftsmanship is not stellar. On the bobble I've opened so far, the inside surface of one of Prince's legs appears to have been "smoothed" by someone's finger. I think they did a nice job with his face, though. I would like to see someone identify the tattoo on his neck and draw it on their bobble. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I'll feel better about it once the Brewers actually win another game. They're 0-1 in the hawing/19 era - oh no! Suckers. *taking notes* http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. A decent lineup, however that bottom 3 seems like 3 guaranteed outs. I thought so too, but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Wow, sheetswannabe, I'm glad that cloud didn't get any closer to you than it already did.
  5. Yeah, by now whenever I see a mention of 'squirrel' on this site I think of brewerjamie. Still, that was a good deed you did, and should get you some good karma.
  6. So, you'd think Hothead would be on the mound in MP on Wednesday. Hmm. If he's going to implode again, I hope it's before my 2:30 meeting that day.
  7. I won a Jason Belcher-signed broken bat in the 2005 haiku night drawing, on this very site. I also won a basket of bath-type products at the 2006 fan fest. (Disclaimer: these both happened before I became a moderator.) Obviously, this site makes me a winner.
  8. It looks like Scott Olsen is searching for his missing contact lens.
  9. Oh, wow, was that a fun game. I think some of my students think every night is like that at Miller Park. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The hawing ticket is now 5-3 and on a multiple-game win streak for the first time this season. Good night for Corey - which is probably fortunate if they need a leadoff hitter other than Rickie for at least 15 days. I saw someone on the videoboard who reminded me of the poster tomwopat. I think it was in the 4th inning and he was wielding a camera with an impressive looking lens.
  10. Obie also had that nice late-season (2004, I assume) outing vs. Houston on national TV. He tended to do well when we were in attendance. Of course, I'm not hoping for that tonight.
  11. Wes took a no-no into the 7th, I believe. I was listening to the game, thinking to myself that if he finished 'pitching really well' that I'd have to get an Obermueller jersey. Not a tee, a jersey, because who knows how long it would be before there's a Brewers no-hitter again? But then someone got a hit and that saved me some coin. And it was against the Nats. Wes' lone win to date this year also came vs. Washington.
  12. Well, my group has one big Corey Hart fan (which is why we are sitting in the RF bleachers), so I'd appreciate Ned including him tonight.
  13. Here's a really egregious case from Madison earlier this year. Link
  14. Someone with a camcorder has got to film this. I'd love to see you fellas struttin' to the plate with these sweet tracks in the background. Then, whoever does this should also pan to the opponents' bench and fans - so we can see their reaction too.
  15. Do they just go door-to-door? You'd think someone (or their pet dogs) would hear them sooner than later. They probably do just that. Student neighborhoods are astonishingly easy pickings. Also, apartment complexes which either lack security doors or lack security doors with, well, real "security." And not everyone has a dog.
  16. What happened to the days when you could leave your doors unlocked at night with no worries? I barely remember those days, and it's not like I live in an inner city. With law enforcement in the family, I get constant reminders to keep doors (and windows) locked.
  17. And it's not just any bf.net shirt: it's sloganware! http://images.cafepress.com/product/111211759v1_240x240_Front.jpg
  18. As Moe once said to Homer, "I'm really more of a well-wisher, in that I wish you no specific harm." I generally wish lil' Wes well, but not Thursday. For those of you watching at home, the spirited group in the front of 204 will be my employees and I, ready to catch whatever Prince hits our way. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I will, of course, be sporting a bf.net shirt.
  19. What were the questions?
  20. The Onion's giving the Brewers a chance! (I think.) MLB Announces Acceptable 2007 World Series Matchups MILWAUKEE?Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig announced the acceptable matchups for the 2007 World Series yesterday, insisting that the Fall Classic would exclusively feature one of six interesting, crowd-please scenarios. "Yankees-Cubs, Red Sox-Cubs, Yankees-Dodgers, Red Sox-Dodgers, Red Sox-Mets," Selig said, noting that, in addition, any underdog team from the National League is acceptable as long as they play against the Yankees or Red Sox. "Tigers-Mets will be allowed with the provision that Kenny Rogers does something illegal, but under no circumstance will the Cardinals be allowed to repeat." Selig added that Yankees-Mets and White Sox-Cubs are no longer an option, as those types of monumental, once-in-a-lifetime match ups have forever been ruined by interleague play. Link They also make it easier to laugh with this. Experts Predict Man Who Plays Once Every Five Days Probably Won't Save Team Just follow the link. It's good for at least a smirk.
  21. The Atlanta fan base was certainly loud in the first inning. Later in the evening, not so much.
  22. "the Brewers come to bat with Hardy, Braun, and Fielder.." Yeah. *happy sigh* And just looking at the Brewers' infield tonight... *another happy sigh*
  23. I admire your confidence and hope you are right. Meanwhile, we'll be in TB 417 tonight, row 5 or 6, on the aisle. I'm toying with wearing my Davis jersey, which brought a good result the last time I wore it to a game.
  24. So...that avatar picture isn't you? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Good luck.
