  1. Is Ohman eligible for the seal of clubbing yet?
  2. Well, this is arguably more run support than Doug has had in...I have no idea how long.
  3. someone needs to come up with a new wallbangers tag for this team Ivy wallbangers?
  4. Glendon: Still my man. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Especially playing for the other side. Sharpie: You've got some run support now. Justify my avatar choice.
  5. I was really hoping to not see Bush come out this inning I cringe a little to say so, but they may feel they have to save the bullpen for Saturday. (Sorry, Doug. I'm just saying.)
  6. Well, it's not like the next three hitters have torn the cover off the ball this series... Clancy, could you retract that, at least for the moment?
  7. How big of a Brewers nerd am I? I searched for Metallica's "Fuel" on amazon.com just to play the snippet, here at the library, so I can imagine Turnbow coming out to frenzied cheers. Honestly. (I had the volume way down.)
  8. Remlinger has 20 years on Prince......crazy. Mike Remlinger was born less than one month after hawing (3/23/66). He has "only" 18 years on Prince! Look at his Gameday picture. His beard is white.
  9. A day game in April? I think they'll be lucky to draw 10,000. Never underestimate the lure of the kids' and seniors' discount. (not to mention Brewers Bingo!) Alas, I will be trying to sneak peeks at Gameday from the library. So Brian had a great time, and AJAY; but we haven't heard how great a time Jamie had...
  10. Jloos has a great candidate for a new tagline.
  11. Aaaagh! JP said the S-word! Shut up, shut UP, Jim!
  12. Well, I wasn't posting because I was one of the 11,660 in attendance. Thankfully we sat well out of range of JJ's bat. (I thought it was odd that Bob thought the fan was hit by a ball.) Looking at the final pitch count for Cap, you'd never have guessed that more than half were thrown in the first three innings. It was really nice to see him settle in. We have personally seen half of Derrick Turnbow's saves - I particularly love seeing the fan reaction when he simply steps onto the field - and are now 3-0 on the hawing ticket. I won't disclose our next game yet for fear of bringing on the jinx.
  13. If we spell out BREWERFAN.NET, I call the dot. Or we could each hold a word from one of last year's haikus. My favorite was You just have to know Jim Powell is reading this And thinks we are dorks. This is awesomeness, Nicole. I was thinking (as Jamie started making a tentative count) that we need to reach 25 participants so we can get a mention. You and Jamie are the publicity juggernauts.
  14. If the T-shirts feature graphics by Colbyjack, they're all but priceless. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif No, really, I'll start the bidding and suggest $20 as the most I'd pay for the T-shirt component. $10-$15 seems more ideal. As long as they don't say "Brewerfan.net drinking team." Then you'd lose me.
  15. You know, After the first retro Sunday was in the books two weeks ago (the Brewers' first loss, if you can remember back to that mindset), I wondered to myself, "suppose it's the uniforms." Still too small a sample size, but I'll be watching. I hope the unis aren't unlucky because we have tickets to several upcoming Sundays. hawing- You need a new favorite guy. Jamie, this is painful enough already. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Maybe Doug needs to return to the full Cap'n Sharpie facial hair regime. One thing that strikes me so far is that there have already been a couple of all-out crapfests, after three weeks. I think we could count on one hand the number of blowouts the the Brewers suffered in all of 2005. I'm not saying that's a meaningful statistic, but even when 81 wins seemed impossible last year, I remember thinking, at least they aren't getting creamed.
  16. Do you ever get the feeling that when JP is announcing the Menards Big Inning ("If the Brewers hit for the cycle this half inning...") that he's just thinking, "yeah, right. *That's* gonna happen."
  17. Oh..and we were the Kohls family of the game...$250 gift certificate! Great day. Good for you! As our 20 game package is in 417, I am hoping that our years of family section loyalty will pay off for us someday (in the tangible form of a Kohls gift card). I had no game access today either - visiting my mom who doesn't own a radio because she's been deaf for 20 years. If someone told me that the Brewers would win the rest of their games as long as I ignored them...I'm not sure what I'd do.
  18. In a contest between Cubs and Astros fans, who would win the "Most Unnecessarily Excited at a Routine fly ball" award? To be fair, I get upset with the crowd at The Keg because they do the same thing. Maybe it just doesn't sound as well on TV. I noticed this, too, in the first two games we attended two weeks ago. Small sample, but I don't remember big group gasps for what were obviously popups or fouls in previous years at MP.
  19. Get back on the horse, fellas...
  20. You guys are missing a weird discussion of soft drinks in the chat room. What? It started with "Minute Maid." Blame the Astros. Go Brewers?!
  21. Haha. it's not like we got trounced 15-1 like Baltimore did. It's not over yet.... What we can always cling to, just like my UW-Madison classmates and I did occasionally during the valley of the Don Morton era, is We Scored First.
  22. Gabe Gross: building a cultish legend, one pinch hit at a time.
  23. I hope in 40 years I have the chance to blow that place up. Don't worry, Marc NOD. This is the twenty-first century. It'll be 20 more years tops before Houston "has to" replace the juice box. You know, to stay competitive and survive.
  24. Coming in late.... OK, I can see it's a crapfest on the field. Is it a gripe- or a snipe-fest in this thread? If someone could summarize, it would save me some mouse clicks. Thanks. Edit: To be fair, I should have offered a less negative guess too, such as "neither."
  25. Which trend will win out tonight? - The Brewers, facing a quality pitcher, gear up accordingly and have a good game - Roy Oswalt owns the Brewers and will tonight as well - Sharpie's on the mound, so whatever the outcome it'll be decided after his departure Wait 7-10 hours and we'll know. In the meantime, revel in the glory of an IGT that just might not give us a headache. Thanks for the DFA, Brian.
