  1. everybody else in the world had to be used first 'tho . . . Yeah, can't help but wonder what it's going to take to get Young Corey some more PT. Even if Brady's unavailable. Nice win, though. Keep it going for Sunday, guys - we're taking my six-year-old nephew to his first game and I don't want him to see a crapfest.
  2. C'mon, Derrick. Get the scrapster out.
  3. going to be one of those nights that Gary Bennett beats us mercilessly I called that about halfway up this page. Not that I'm glad to be right. How is it that the retreads consistently come back to bite the Brewers? Some day they'll be no-hit by Ruben Quevedo or Matt Kinney.
  4. Yep. Gritty Gary is a Cardinal. Watch as *he* mashes, or otherwise thwarts the Brewers. Most every other former Brewer in this dispiriting stretch of games has... But maybe not tonight. C'mon, fellas. I don't want to hear the S word on Sunday.
  5. I forgot how much I hate hearing a loud cheer (from the scads of visiting fans) when the Brewers lose in Miller Park. They're not Cubs fans, but Cardinal Nation is still an irritant.
  6. Double switch when Shouse came in.. So Ned's rollin' the catcher dice tonight. What if something happens to Bad Chad? Gah!
  7. Why did Moeller come in for Miller? Somehow I missed that.
  8. 2006: The year I may as well keep the rally cap glued to my head.
  9. Ah, geez, Before I could get home to post, the game went from bizarro "Jorge owns the Cardinals" universe to whammy night. http://www.chris-place.net/schuminweb/archives/quotes/whammy.gif
  10. Am I jive walking? (Imagine the tune "Jive Talkin'") Jive walkin' Got the dude out Jive walkin' I'm walkin' about (yeah-eah-eah) Jive walkin' I'm turnin' my back Jive walkin' And talkin' the smack. /insert extended synthesizer magic/
  11. BILL (clap clap clap) HALL (clap clap clap) I love the phrase "In play, run scoring play."
  12. I didn't see it mentioned above, but we blew Trevor Hoffman's shot at save #450. And there was much rejoicing. (yaaaaay)
  13. wow. For all the Yost critics, a double switch. Lee in for the pitcher. Hart to RF, Lee to LF, Pitcher batting 3rd. Yeah, holy frijoles. I've been stuck helping to diagnose a chilled air problem in our building for the last hour, so this is a welcome development for me. (That, and the Brewers' battling to the 10th.) Come ON, guys.
  14. Leadoff double for the Prince! Wasn't there a time when the Brewers knew what to do with such a windfall?
  15. I'll try to remember to remove angry-face, too, PeaveyF. 10 hits for the Padres already. Why make it that much easier for them? (Rhetorical. No need to answer.)
  16. Why does even a one-run deficit feel unrecoverable lately?
  17. Koskie? Again? That's the second time in a week. And I remember last Saturday's all too well. Burglefickle. Edit: Just saw the HR posted on Gameday. Double crap. Buckle down, Doug. Zach Jackson would.
  18. Lay off Doug, Jamie. He was rolling on Saturday night. If only I could take up a collection to go to each of his starts... Edited to remove the angry face. No need for that (so far).
  19. In honor of today's starter, I have placed my newly acquired Doug Davis 2001 Rangers card next to my monitor here at the library. Stay sharp, Sharpie; the rest of you, get him some run support; and thanks again to Gypcasino for making my day with the card!
  20. Well, I'm going to try to focus on the positive. I did enjoy watching Zach Jack (and I curse Brian Giles for robbing him of what I think would have bounced off the yellow pad for a Zach Jack Jack). He kept the Brewers in the game, which is not something you can say about several of the rest of the "Wheel of Pitchers." I look forward to seeing more of him. Heaven forbid Ned could have had someone bat for Bad Chad in the 9th. I suppose this proves how naive I am. If he's so freaked out about using up both catchers, bring up a third catcher.
  21. Looks like I won't be going to the game tonight. Tune in to the WSSP Post Game Show this evening to find out why. (1250 am) Don't be such a tease. Whatever the reason is, it had better get on the air before we get to about mile marker 282 (because by then we're out of range on the way back to Madison). EDIT: Ah, I see. You put the news elsewhere: p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...1993.topic
  22. I waited through two hours of tornado warning and constant weather updates to find this nice little outcome. (so far) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif C'mon, Dave. Finish it yourself. P.S. Do you think everyone should get Fieldered at some time or another?
  23. I'll get in my word before the storms hit and I have to turn off the computer. Go Brewers. Don't give me "peavy fury" again.
  24. Ueck's mistake in the 6th - - - Brewers lead 4-2. One on, two out for the Padres. Ueck: Here's the pitch...*Crack*...........and this game is tied. Me: #&*@!!! Ueck: .....................................................................No! Whoops! It's off the top of the wall out there and the Brewers still lead 4-2. Me: Whew...Wow End of the inning: Ueck - I'm going to go wash my mouth out with soap. Well, that explains a lot. That was when I shut off the radio for a while. Guess that'll show me.
