  1. Problem is we seem to make terrible pitchers look like all stars Opposing starter-wise, we appear to have two potential factors at work: (1) "terrible pitcher has a career night vs. Milwaukee" and (2) "but it's Jamey Wright" In the bizarro world that is Coors Field, only time will tell which factor wins out. And yes, it was Jamey Wright who hit Carlos with a pitch in the spring.
  2. Ben gets rocked and Victor hits. Denver = bizarro world.
  3. I've always thought of George Webb as more of a cockeyed optimist.
  4. I heard about half of the radio call today. Not the 8th, but I caught the highlights. Corey must have crushed it, because there was no doubt in Bob's call from the very start. Awesome. Kind of wish they'd brought up the younguns Saturday night, but like Batman, this makes me happy.
  5. Well, that game was a big bowl of crap. No kidding. I can't decide if this was worse than the numerous missed opportunities on Friday night. How pathetic is it when one of the best things you can say is, "at least it was quick"? On the way back to the parking lot I found a broken piece of Overbay bobblehead - a forearm grasping a bat. I'm certain this is a metaphor for the 2005 Brewers.
  6. The crowd sounds loud on the radio. Any hints as to attendance?
  7. Way to go Wes! I don't believe what I just saw...Big Wes do. Nice. How about 8 more top-of-the-innings like that? And some offense in the bottom of the innings? C'mon Brewers.
  8. One big advantage of using Gameday is that you're able to see all the stats etc.. while you're following the game I am never going to be the kind of stat-head that many regular posters are. But 4 1/2 seasons at Miller Park have me so accustomed to being able to check the pitch count, batter statistics, batting order, etc. that I get a little irritated not having constant access to that information when I watch on TV. Go Brewers! Here's hoping we see .504 by the end of the night!
  9. Nicole, you should add a Marge Simpson grumble to that frown. Hrrrrmmmm.
  10. I'm not hiding. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Eighteen more comments (after mine) and this thread will hit 1000 posts. Do it for the team.
  11. In play, no out recorded I really don't like to see that right now. I can check gameday and this thread about every half hour. My jaw is still hanging open. EDIT : Can we call this Bizarro Series from here on out?
  12. I just had my first chance today to look at the boxscore and this thread. Great googly moogly. Will I have to replace my avatar to something dull instead?
  13. I just got home to find a slugfest in the books and a postfest here. What in blazes happened? (Rhetorical question. No one has to actually tell me.)
  14. I guess I'd better cancel my order for the personalized McBlah jersey. (Maybe I'll change it to SOLVDD.)
  15. Huzzah. Maybe this game will lure some more "casual fans" in August and September. Now fellas, keep it going for Sunday. I'll be there and I could really use a non-stinker game...
  16. C'mon, Sheeter, finish it off. EDIT: OK, 108 pitches+; if they bring in Turnbow I will understand. It would be nice to see a CG, though.
  17. 38,462 in the house tonight. That must be where the posters are. There was that much demand for a key chain? J is for July and Jenkins.
  18. So much for "Madison Day" at the ballpark. (They couldn't call it Madison Night?) Who else got the sinking feeling that the game was over the second the ball left Hennessy's bat? Oh, that was me. I took one of my walks around the ballpark after that at bat. It was a long walk around the park. I know it wasn't all Victor's fault, but I'm not sure how soon I want to see him pitch again. Was Damian's mind on the drive at all tonight? I'm just wondering. Our 2005 Milwaukee Brewers: One step forward, two steps back.
  19. So far, I'm preferring the bad mojo with all those baseball pictures.
  20. I vote for a Bad Mojo thread. Maybe it's just what this franchise has needed for 12+ seasons. BF.net saves the day! I have not stopped shuddering since I saw Franklin Stubbs in the 'Stro-Bow jersey...
  21. Gosling's bio says he was born in Madison. Not that that'll make me root for him. Finally I get to see (in person) Ben start - first time in 2005. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Trent is horrible and should not be on the field Let's hope that was just a little experiment that Ned is not going to repeat. So, how long did it take for Trent to make those 3 errors?
  23. Ahhh, Ray "the neck" King. C'mon J.J.!
