  1. In play, run-scoring play Not something I like to see appear on gameday right now.
  2. More facial weirdness in the Cubs gameday photos: Is that white/gray stubble on Remlinger's face? Edit: Oh, I see he's less than one month younger than I am. Guess that explains it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Way to go for the grizzled veteran look.
  3. I swear...Cubs fans scream like it's going yard every time a fly ball is hit. It's their Pavlovian reflex for whenever they hear the crack of the bat (as long as a cub is holding the bat).
  4. I would be pleased to ignore a polls forum.
  5. Sharpie vs. Hothead. You know who I root for.
  6. Well, not every game can be magical. Good thing the fanfest was Saturday. We took a different route out of the stadium today and were suddenly about a yard away from Bill Schroeder as he was boarding the staff elevator. The only thing I could think to do was give him a raspberry, which I'm sure he didn't notice. By doing so I missed a clearer shot at Bob Brainerd as he headed into the media room.
  7. It looked like Miller Park had an electric environment. Well, it *was* Fanfest. And these energetic guys sitting in front of us with the Jenkins Jungle accessories added more than their share of electricity. (Imagine their dismay when they saw Magruder in RF.) I'd forgotten what a far cry the bleachers can be from little old TB 417. Awesome game. The Brewers beat the big-crowd jinx and Rickie and Prince made around 30,000 fans right on the spot. AND the Maniac was sitting next to the fanfest group. We've seen the Maniac from afar for years but never sat so close. He kept saying something to Ohka in Japanese. How's that for devotion? Finally, of course, it was very good company. Nice to meet/see again those of you in attendance; sorry we didn't get to see everyone. I'm ready for the next one!
  8. See you guys tonight! Actually, this afternoon I guess. Whoever listens to the radio, post any Brewerfan.net comments JP makes.
  9. Now, if they could just keep it going for the fanfest crowd...
  10. dude, where's my save? (I'm not sure I dare ask yet) EDIT : woo-hoo!
  11. Brainerd just won the sausage race. I think it was fixed. That was totally fixed. The Italian was a speedster until they rounded home plate.
  12. Dude, THERE'S my save! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  13. This game reminds me of the old Brewers vs. Cubs games when nobody had any pitching and the final score was something like 14-13 and the team that was trailing would score 6 runs in the last inning all after two out. Brings back memories doesn't it ? Yes. Ugh. I get whiplash every time I have a chance to check gameday. We need a "dizzy" emoticon.
  14. Only a single for DLee? Trade the bum.
  15. Tip of the cap to Carlos. Ehh, tip of the cap to Glendon too.
  16. Is it true Sheets is wearing long sleeves? Its hot like Satans undies outside. Wouldn't this weather be normal for someone from Louisiana?
  17. I heart Sharpie. Way to help your own cause. (It took me a moment to post this because I had to get over being stunned.) And they sent the hothead packing early. That's just about worth a premium game ticket price. PLEASE HANG ON.
  18. wow is it annoying to tune into the game and hear "let's go cubbies" chants coming over the speakers That's why I'm monitoring the game on this forum. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. June 18, 2005. 1-30. Never forget.
  20. So, Wouldn't it be cool if the Brewers could do something productive with their two - count em - two baserunners? EDIT: Like score one of them. Meh, I'll take it.
  21. OK, That *splat* noise you might have heard a little after 7:00 was the Brewers' momentum hitting the wall, juuuuuust about the time Wes committed that error. Jim Powell claimed that the turning point in the game was the first pay-rod HR, but for once he is wrong. Big Wes gave the visitors the toehold they needed in the top of the first. Otherwise that would have been a quick first inning for Cap and the Evil Empire might have stayed in its funk. I can tell you the error took parts of the crowd right out of the game. It's also possible that Steinbrenner might have resumed phoning in threats against the players and their families, pets or other loved ones - in order to relight the competitve fire under them. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Although my hatred for the yankees is fully restored (I won't even capitalize the word), I grudgingly admit that the visiting fans weren't nearly as obnoxious as Cub fans. Also - props to the videoboard crew. Nice, nice touch to play the Darth Vader music while the yankees' starting lineup was announced. Time to regroup.
  22. I'm now of the opinion that Geoff Jenkins could not get himself turned around if he were on a Merry-Go-Round. Thanks for the smack talk, Jamie. Now I feel more confident of seeing a home team W tonight. The Brewers' record with hawing in attendance is 3-3 (after battling back from 0-3) and a win would really help justify our driving through storms to get there and back to Madison.
  23. Nice pictures, ICN. So what was the approximate yankee-Brewers fan ratio? It didn't sound as lopsided as when the Cubs "visit", but then again the visitor fans had less reason to get going.
  24. So do we have to lay off Spivey now for the next week? Maybe...if 4 runs holds up, and there are no, um, costly errors in the mid-infield tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Nice of Junior to give Sharpie a chance at the W.
  25. Are they trying to turn this into the longest game this season? Well, it's the yankees. Although I don't think they're worthy of capitalization, it's probably a rule to maximize their media coverage in any way possible. (This is the nicest thing I have said or thought about tonight's opponent all day.) Sharpie could use a fresh dose of sharpitude.
