  1. Did Bob just announce an attendance of 13,000+? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Unless I misheard that, geez, what's it take? Everyone's waiting for tomorrow night?
  2. 5 games above .500. (Since when?) Came back, twice, despite a healthy contingent of "away" fans. And in front of a big crowd (36,882). I am reeling. In a good way!
  3. Ah, so Terry Mulholland is still in baseball. Well, thanks. C'mon, DK. You know what to do.
  4. Just got back from Milwaukee and another happy night at the park. Obviously I didn't see the TV feed, but it did not feel like Miller Park was overrun with Twins fans. The terrace level is where a lot of opposing fans wind up (believe me, I've experienced it often enough) and I just didn't notice a lot of obvious Minnesotans there. No doubt the Brewers' early lead helped keep them quieter. And it's possible that when I think 'overrun', I think of Cub Nation. (Insert that noise Sideshow Bob makes when the rake he steps on slams into his face.) I had to applaud that Twins defense on multiple occasions. I'd rather they saved it for another series, but those were some quality plays. I'd rather be robbed by quality defense than by an umpire's questionable call.
  5. I'm not jaded enough by the Brewers' recent relative success to be too disappointed.
  6. All I'm going on are the ESPN game update and bf.net comments. Why did Kinney return in the 8th? Excuse my naivete.
  7. I'll take a win even if Kinney gets the credit.
  8. We just got back from our 10th game of the season, and the Brewers are 8-2 on our watch. This is so cool. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  9. Is Battlebot too obvious?
  10. Junior, Junior, Junior. What is up with you? On a brighter note, thanks, Po, for making Spivey's latest less damaging.
  11. What, only one page of posts? It's already the second inning! (I'll do something about that right now.) It would be interesting to see a slugfest, to counteract the Antioffense effort from last night...as long as it's over in nine innings. (I reserve the right to change my mind if the Brewers can't break a tie by the bottom of the ninth.)
  12. A click of the mouse to all of you who stuck it out - maybe especially MassBrew. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I turned off the radio once Viz took the mound, hoping my faith wasn't misplaced. I think I dreamed about the Brewers overnight, though. I woke up at 5:00, earlier than usual, and immediately had to to turn on the radio to catch the sports. Boy, it's nice to wake up to good news. Then I was able to sleep better. Let's hope this game is pivotal for a good reason. Maybe the bats wake up? Bullpen keeps up its Supermen status? Ben remains the man? Wow. Brian, please archive this thread. This is at least as significant as WHOA SOLVDD.
  13. Does Bob have to keep mentioning the lack of walks? Like I said to Eric Franke on channel 3 when he mentioned the perfect game, "shut up, shut up SHUT UP!"
  14. If Ben's outing is for naught, it will be a heart-rending loss for the Brewers, and you can blame the puny offense. Thesaurus aside, this game seems fairly pivotal (for June). Lose and you have wasted a terrific performance by Golden Ben and gone under .500 to boot. How demoralizing. Ah, geez, wild pitch. Collect yourself, Ben.
  15. Could have been me. I turned on FSN about five seconds before the hit. Please don't make me leave the board. (Couldn't it have been Daron and Bill?) What makes one bloody run too much to ask for?
  16. Maybe Nedley knew the 3 run jack was going to happen. Salvaging this would take more battling than even this group probably has.
  17. JP just referred to the Dodgers' centerfielder as Meltdown Bradley. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  18. If Jose Hernandez scores the winning run, I might throw up.
  19. Your May 29, 2004 Brewers : Gettin' in and out of scrape after scrape. At the risk of echoing others who got home sooner: - Nice to see Wes help his own cause. Who would have predicted he'd drive in 75% of the runs? - Finally, a win in front of a reasonably big crowd. 29,499 despite a holiday weekend, an opponent who is not necessarily the most compelling draw, and no promotion unless you live in one of the five stadium taxed counties. And a large walk-up in so-so weather. - I'll take Craig's offense if it means we also get his defense.
  20. Are big crowds expected this weekend? (Or at least big by recent standards?) If so, then the Brewers will probably win today, thus setting up their big-crowd curse for the holiday weekend. If not, then anything's possible. Wish I could go today. It's bound to be warmer than Wednesday's game.
  21. We had Friday tickets instead of Sunday, dagnabbit, but at the five games we have attended to date this year, the K signs have never been in use. Last season, Bernie often seemed to lose track of the Ks, so maybe no signs are better than inaccurate ones.
  22. So, any prize package for cooltate?
  23. Trent batting for Kinney. Somehow, that seems appropriate. At least he'll be used up early. Is Matt contemplating a name change? Like to Glendon?
  24. The C-word might be too strong, but again the Brewers fail to come up big on a night when coming up big could have paid big fan dividends. People were into the game, chanting and clapping, and most stayed till the end. Compare that with 2001, when we routinely saw "fans" leave as early as the 5th inning. For that matter, compare it to Thursday's crowd of just under 15,000. It was like night and day, and not only because one was a night game and one a day game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Though this definitely represents progress over the Lopester era, I sure would like to see them deliver a win in front of more than 8-15K. Maybe even when I'm there. And as Durrington stepped to the plate, I imagined the keyboards of BF.net a-tappin'...
  25. I was also at the game. Great weather (a nice surprise after leaving Madison in a steady rain). The roof was open for just the second time this season, and the Brewers are 2-0 in roof-open games in 2004. That 2nd inning 2-error play earned Uecker's comments. Watch for it on a blooper spot near you later this season. All Bill had to do was hang onto the ball once he kept it from rolling to the outfield, but alas. Fortunately, as we all know, these aren't the 2002 Brewers who would have let a play like that snowball until it was 9-0 in the 4th or something. And Sharpie was sharp enough.
