  1. The city of Houston declared Tuesday (9/25) to be Jose Altuve Day. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120925&content_id=39010288&notebook_id=39010290&vkey=notebook_hou&c_id=hou
  2. Also...Houston hangs on to win its final Minute Maid Park game of 2012. You decide how hopeful to get.
  3. It takes a village, Taylor Blue, to populate this forum. Nice work.
  4. Sweet jeebus, the Reds drew under 19,000 Tuesday night and barely 20,000 tonight. You CIN fans don't want to show up for a division champion, maybe the title should be transferred to a team whose fanbase would.
  5. That's my wish as well, even if the season ends on October 3. I'm hoping for a large, appreciative and enthusiastic crowd on Friday at least. My brother and 12-year-old nephew are coming to Saturday's game, so having some excitement last into Saturday would be icing on the cake.
  6. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ePNB-ZIQMIk/T9_eLN8wlJI/AAAAAAAADEI/4Bs-lXw1Ju0/s320/woot-woot.jpg The Brewers aren't losing! Woot woot! Cherish the moment.
  7. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lCcT9C8sjNk/S4RytC1MQQI/AAAAAAAAACM/Cst5g-QXdPU/s320/simpsons_nelson-branson-791713.jpg "I didn't think he'd do Moon River, but then BAM - second encore!" Actually, I more often associate Andy Williams with his Christmas shows. I know this dates me on this board, and I already have an idea of which of you are most likely to add to this thread.
  8. I still detest Scott Rolen's batting music. Also Scott Rolen in general. Also the woo fans.
  9. Whoops - I don't know what might be up with pretendastronaut, but I'll have lineups keyed in momentarily. (edit: And here they are) Our Milwaukee Brewers RF Norichika Aoki 2B Rickie Weeks LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Corey Hart C Jonathan Lucroy CF Logan Schafer SS Jeff Bianchi RHP Shaun Marcum Cincinnati "Not the most hated red-clad team in the NL Central" Reds 2B Brandon Phillips SS Zack Cozart 1B Joey Votto 3B Scott Rolen RF Jay Bruce CF Chris Heisey LF Xavier Paul C Ryan Hanigan RHP Bronson Arroyo Beat the first pitch! By seconds! Go Brewers.
  10. I second that emotion. On the radio, Uecker described them as "screamish." I like that. [sarcasm]Pretty classy of the Reds to bring out 100 MPH dude for the 9th, since they're barely clinging to playoff hopes and all.[/sarcasm]
  11. Mother of God, that 'stache. TEHFIERS looks 10 years older, just like that.
  12. Dear Brewers: Could you at least keep Friday's game relevant? Thanks a bunch. Yours since 1982, hawing
  13. So is getting the "balance" card the only way to get sale prices on anything at Walgreens anymore? We've made use of their buy-one-get-one-free (now usually buy-one-get-50%-off-another) deals on vitamins and such for a long time, but I'm not keen on sharing a lot of my personal information with them for a discount (especially if the discount continues to shrink). That would bug me.
  14. Woah, RoCo, that is way out of line. You can make me the anonymous message board heavy who says that's way out of line, if you think that would do any good.
  15. So, Nationals, you can start saving the 3-run jacks for other teams anytime now.
  16. Now you have me wondering how many other MLB teams even offer partial packages. I checked NYY and it appears they do not. (Also, you probably don't want to know what NYY charges for a full season; but if you're in a mood to cringe, follow this link: https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/nyyreg/EN/buy/details/13CA81?tfl=New_York_Yankees-Tickets-2013_Yankees_Season_Tickets-na-b2) I'd like to check the other 28 but will have to save that for later.
  17. WHAT BETTER TIME FOR RALLY CAPS?
  18. If that comes to pass, let's please call the platoon Gofer! if only because Schamez sounds terrible.
  19. Here is a link to a brewers.com page with (mildly entertaining) information about the season seat holder "team," and also email addresses: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ticketing/sth/meettheteam.jsp This link includes a list of 10-pack benefits, including a postseason statement: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ticketing/10_packs.jsp Based only on past observations of the SSH procedures (i.e. I have no inside information), my guess is that the uncommonly short timeframe of getting the full/half/20-game customers through the system is what's delaying any word about the prospects for 10-pack customers. In past years they've launched the "postseason plan" in mid-August. Now they are trying to accomplish the project in less than half that time, very possibly with more customers than last year at this time. The general phone number for season ticket information is (414) 902-4090. That might be worth calling for a general question. Whether you phone or email, make sure to mention that your original ticket guy is apparently no longer with the Brewers and you don't know who has your account now. Maybe you can at least get a new contact name. Good luck.
  20. [sarcasm]Maybe they didn't assign seat 6 to anyone and you have yourselves a free coat chair![/sarcasm]
  21. I read about this acquisition earlier today and immediately thought, "The final piece!"
  22. I've been trying to figure that out since that 2-HR game Aoki had a while back this year. That is the first time I noticed the finger-stache; George Kottaras gave it to Aoki as he trotted to home plate following his walkoff. [sarcasm]I'm sure whatever it is, isn't classy enough for the STL.[/sarcasm] By the way, God bless John Axford.
  23. It's supposed to be cloudy/rainy with a high of 57, and the Badgers stunk last week. Will there be anyone in the stands for the first half?
