  1. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/split.cgi?t=b&team=MIL&year=2020 84 K's in 339 PA's. 24.7% for the season they have 376 K's in 1421 PA's. 26.5% They strike out less with RISP.
  2. JJ Hardy was painfully slow but he didn't look awkward when he ran. He was just slow.
  3. Arcia really seems like more than anything he has an awkward stride. He seems like he's got a pretty decently athletic slender build, so he shouldn't be as slow as he is. He just never looks comfortable running. Mike Cameron had a long graceful stride that never looked like it took a lot of effort And he covered a ton of ground. Carlos Gomez covered a lot of ground but he always looked like he was running like a cheetah. Different running styles for different guys...
  4. What I'm really going to miss.... Is listening to our TV guys go "that ball was smoked" The three or four times the rest of the year that Smoak May have hit a homerun.
  5. like a few other posters have said, lots of guys are struggling this year. It's a weird season that started late after a mini camp that probably didn't do a lot of guys very good. Bellinger is barely hitting over 200. Yelich is barely hitting over 200. Some guys are doing fine. Some guys are struggling I guess I don't see the point in dropping a bad player to pick up a demonstrably worse player in the hopes that he randomly gets hot. That's not even looking at data. That's just hoping you get some kind of dumb gamblers luck. I usually trust stearns's judgment, but this honestly doesn't make any sense if vogelbach gets any kind of playing time. If you're going to hope a guy gets randomly hot, there's no reason that you shouldn't expect that it would be Smoak, who's only been bad this year instead of putridly awful like vogelbach.
  6. Yep. The offense has been brutal. The offense has been absolute garbage, and the Brewers are hanging right around the edge of the playoff picture. a three or four game winning streak is easily doable and puts them right back in it. Seeding in baseball is pretty meaningless. much less so than in basketball or football I think. I don't care who we play. Just get in. We've seen wild card teams win the world series multiple times. Hack, the Nationals won it last year. All you have to do is get in, and get hot. These short series favor luck over anything else. So just get in. And everybody has a shot
  7. I think the Indians were boxed into a corner here. A lot of the players were pretty pissed at clevenger after the incident a few weeks ago, and they're probably weren't a lot of options. this was probably one of those situations where they decided to take the best to deal that was offered.
  8. I need to see the dent in the hood of that toyota
  9. my doctor's office was actually getting a hold of me Wednesday to get mine set up. And I was like ehhh... I think I'll rethink my hesitation
  10. I think this could honestly be said of almost every team in MLB this year. Strikeouts are happening at a practically catastrophic rate.
  11. I would not expect any changes to be made based on the win total of a 60 game season played during a pandemic.
  12. If people want to be upset that a game might get cancelled, that's fine. Keep the commentary about the events in Kenosha for other boards that aren't this one
  13. This. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this or not but you guys realize that hader has pitched the equivalent of a no-hitter so far this season right?
  14. He wasn't. Yet. the headline said he's the fifth person ever to be an MVP and DPOY both. But not in the same year. It was just referencing that he was MVP last year. in the article it states that he is the presumptive favorite to be the MVP. Those results haven't been released yet
  15. Nobody here to my knowledge is a professional broadcaster. As such brenneman is open to a lot more criticism than your average message board poster. Casting stones that have no target is a dangerous game. Accusing people of things that they may or may not have said with no knowledge of it is an exercise in futility. We know brenneman said what he said and the context is pretty clear. He's a public figure. He's open to all the scrutiny that he's receiving right now. If someone wants to use denigrating language towards groups or races in their private discussions, well that's on them. if they want to say that it's okay because other people do it, I guess that's on them as well. If You're going to come into a thread and say I do it and other people do it, you probably should have some thing to back it up, instead of just casting a wide net.
  16. Here's where I'm at too. I hate that something like this can literally cost a guy his career. But every time I think the guy should get a second chance you think about this kind of language and what it says about his character and what he thinks about people. For those that say "you use vulgar language too" . Yup. I swear. I say the f-word. But I don't use language that belittles and wounds an entire group of people. And most decent people don't. And that's the difference. I think Thom's character is pretty much like most of us... I think you're very wrong.

  18. IDK, Orlando never really threatened, and it can be said that they shot so poorly because Milwaukee played defense the way we know they can. Yes, Middleton needs to shoot better, but aside from that, it was a blowout. They're back in command.
  19. The only reason no one else has never done it is because everyone else respects the unwritten rules.....
  20. I mean, that was an (actual) well written apology and he sounded super contrite, but the part where he loses me is where he says "I didn't know that word was so rooted in hate". Really dude? Really? I remember running around on the playground in elementary school and calling someone that when I was like 6, in like 1981 or something, and a teacher having a discussion with me about what we do (and don't do) and learning a lesson. I think for someone in their 50's to claim ignorance takes the rest of that long, rambling statement where he says "man I'm a piece of crap that has a lot of work to do" and makes it ring pretty hollow.
  21. I think what a lot of people are getting at is that there is no apology that covers letting a hot mic unexpectedly catch you unawares at your ugly, true self. You can apologize all day long, but I'm sorry just doesn't cover it.I think though, at the end of the day it is still his obligation to apologize, take the beating that he knows he has coming and then slink off. I think there's a big problem when people say the words "if I offended anybody"or some variation of that theme. Of course you offended somebody. There's absolutely no doubt you offended some number of people. You probably hurt people. People that trusted you or looked up to you. instead maybe saying something like," by choosing to use such hurtful language I know that I have hurt people...." Or something like that. It's no more of an apology but at least it's an acceptance of the fact that using such ugly language is damaging and hurtful.
  22. Yep. Watching him squirm, getting interrupted by the homer, him updating the game score and then returning to his apology. For fans of uncomfortable cringe, tonight was special. Coming back on, apologizing, full well KNOWING he's gonna get fired, basically apologizing on behalf of the Reds and Fox, because he's currently employed and operating as a representative of their organizations, and just saying "my idiotic words are not representative of these organizations" had to be the most awful couple minutes of his life. That was hilarious and well-deserved.
